Why can’t I find the nutrition label anywhere online? That seems like an obvious thing to show when selling food, but it isn’t even in the manufacturer’s website.
Here’s the Amazon review that convinced me that I was right to have alreqady decided to give these a pass:
Bought two flavors - habanero barbecue and dill pickle. Slight warmth to the habanero, no real flavor for the dill pickle. Far too hard - some of the beans are like having a piece of ceramic in your mouth. Not enough flavor for a salad topper. Ended up picking the very hard edamame (I think that one was the edamame) out of the mix and was basically left with a handful of burnt-looking chickpeas and some broken up cashews. Not large bags, and you have to throw over half the contents away for being too hard. Skip this, try Hippeas or something.
Honestly, there’s a lot of variability in acceptance of high-crunch snack elements, so the comparison to ceramic might be a bit over the top, or it might not. My experience with “healthy snacks” automatically makes me leery of them, and the only experience I’ve had with black chickpeas did not leave me wanting another.
I might had still given it a try if I could get just the habanero bbq flavor, but neither dill pickle nor “sea salt” was inviting, and there’s no single-flavor option. (If there was, I suspect that even more of one flavor would end up in IRKs in August or October.)
@werehatrack for what its worth I have opened about 10 different bags across various best by dates, both these 4.5oz and 1oz bags over on SideDeal. I never came across a tooth breaker – there are crunchier bites for sure but nothing “hard” in my experience
