@jwnelson@pattyrusk1
They are similar to Bombas in shape, but they are thicker and tighter. I think Bombas are 100% cotton as well, while these are mostly synthetic fiber.
Since when is there sales tax on socks? I thought they were considered clothing and therefore exempt from taxes unless they cost like over $100. Plus the price went up the last time these were sold. What gives? It was $15/12 last time now it’s $18+tax/12? That’s basically a 50% increase.
Yes these are good enough that I’m still buying some. But seriously, fix the tax situation.
@Commonwealth109@skennedy
Probably the case. Either way I was not charged sales tax the last time and I was charged this time and I live in a state where there should not be taxes on normal clothing. Something is coded wrong in @meh’s system.
@meniska Similarly, I was wondering the other end of the spectrum…What does one do with the other half of my foot? Find someone to sew two together somehow? I wear either a men’s size 15 or 16 shoe BTW… /showme man with big feet wearing little socks
Bought these the last time they were offered. They are comfy and seem solid-quality, but they are not in my rotation. They’re so thick they change the way my shoes fit. I’m going to donate the ones I never wore (all of them except one pair).
I still love these socks, bought them directly from QVC twice and then a 12 pack last time they were offered here. I wear women’s tennis shoe size 11 and they are the only “no show” socks that my shoes don’t’ “eat” when I wear them. My Nike and UA socks end up sliding to mid-foot after wearing them for short periods of time. These stay in place.
I got these when they were on meh last year and they’re my 2nd favorite pair of socks. Right after classic bombas, and immediately before the new paper-thin bombas. My only real complaint is that they’re a bit snug. More like running socks than around the house socks.
I think socks from sock companies are very expensive because Bombas and others proved it was possible, so others jumped in for the high margins.
But “everyday” socks from established athletic brands (Adidas, Nike, Puma, etc.) are still fairly reasonably priced, especially if you get them on sale. A quick search shows a 6-pack of Adidas Superlite 3.0s for $14. I own a previous version, and they’re noticeably thinner/more breathable than others, great for hot weather.
I’ll spend more on field socks (Feetures are my current favorites), but for everyday wear, I’d rather buy cheaper ones from brands whose products I’ve used/liked.
So these socks say they fit men’s 8-12. I wear an 11 and can’t even begin to get these on my feet. Not really sure what to do at this point. Not too thrilled I paid for something that’s supposed to fit but doesn’t come close.
These are comfy and fairly thick (i hate thin socks). They form-fit well, too. I like them.
Definitely not low cut or no-sho, tho. They have a healthy rise for this type of sock.

@agnesnutter /showme swampfoot
@agnesnutter tough to make cotton moisture-wicking.
These and Sandals… COMFORT!
I received these in my last irk. They are so comfortable, I ordered the black/white! Thanks meh!
@pattyrusk1
/showme comfy socks on hands and feet
@pattyrusk1
I went Bombas and I don’t wanna go back. Are these any close to those? Would you know?
@jwnelson @pattyrusk1
They are similar to Bombas in shape, but they are thicker and tighter. I think Bombas are 100% cotton as well, while these are mostly synthetic fiber.
@jwnelson I’ve never worn bombas. These are not thin and they don’t slide off my feet. I wear them with my Hokas to work.
Bring back knee socks!
@El_Oel Well, they’ve had knee compression sleeves on here. Close enough?
@phendrick Not unless they are white, have wide stripes at the top, and make you look like you are playing in the NBA in the '70s
@El_Oel @phendrick
Let’s try this …
/showme an adventurous man on a mountain top with no socks
@cfg83 @El_Oel @phendrick
/showme an adventurous man on a mountain top wearing 1970’s NBA style socks that are white with wide stripes at the top.
Simplest way for no-show socks is to not wear socks!
/showme an adventurous man on a Pinnacle with no socks
@phendrick guess the bot couldn’t grok “pinnacle with no socks”
@phendrick true but for some activities like golf I do need socks of some kind
@Commonwealth109 @phendrick
Absolutely. Allows your shoes to be not so stinky!
“extravagant-messy-ass” is simultaneously the most hilarious and accurate order confirmation I’ve ever had
@hubbird Seems like it should have been for yesterday’s offering, the bidets.
@hubbird @Kyeh

/giphy extravagant-messy-ass
@TimW I know how this movie ends
@hubbird @Kyeh @TimW For some reason that giphy makes me think of Pokemon.

@Kyeh @TimW @yakkoTDI Pokémon? I hardly know him!

@psantora That is state dependent.
@psantora @skennedy yeah I’ve never heard of no sales tax on clothes in KY
@Commonwealth109 @skennedy
Probably the case. Either way I was not charged sales tax the last time and I was charged this time and I live in a state where there should not be taxes on normal clothing. Something is coded wrong in @meh’s system.
@psantora
Not really… That’s a 20% increase .
@psantora NO UR CODED WRONG
@chienfou fair! Definitely was missing a digit or something…
@meh also fair!! But still doesn’t change the fact I was charged sales tax when I live somewhere where I shouldn’t have been…
@meh also, fixed apparently…
Medium fits men’s 6-8 and women’s 6 to 10?
Men’s 4 is women’s 6. I wear women’s 7 and men’s 5, so do these socks fit or nah?
… meh. I guess the world will never know
@meniska Similarly, I was wondering the other end of the spectrum…What does one do with the other half of my foot? Find someone to sew two together somehow? I wear either a men’s size 15 or 16 shoe BTW… /showme man with big feet wearing little socks
@tohar1 any of the “/“ commands have to be at the start of a new line.
Nah, Still dealing with the Pink Sock I got from the insurance company.
Rectal Prolapse as the DR called it…
Bought these the last time they were offered. They are comfy and seem solid-quality, but they are not in my rotation. They’re so thick they change the way my shoes fit. I’m going to donate the ones I never wore (all of them except one pair).
@snarks_alive which brand / color here? Black & white size L is what I’m looking at.
These look like the freebies you get to try on shoes at the shoe store.
@SChannell
These are much thicker than those
@SChannell the reviews of another product from the brand on Amazon is good, and they are for 3 pairs of ankle length socks for like $18
Only cotton and not dyed. These socks miss the mark on both counts.
150 pairs for $20

Just as invisible.
Just as comfortable.
I still love these socks, bought them directly from QVC twice and then a 12 pack last time they were offered here. /showme man with big feet wearing little socks
/showme one sock being sharpened into a blade
@mediocrebot This looks like the lead-in to some awful scene in an artsy horror movie.
/showme one sock being turned into a glass container
/showme one sock being turned into electricity
I got these when they were on meh last year and they’re my 2nd favorite pair of socks. Right after classic bombas, and immediately before the new paper-thin bombas. My only real complaint is that they’re a bit snug. More like running socks than around the house socks.
@demonbane 100% agree with each of your points. Great socks.
oh gosh what did I do
/showme grieving forgetful tuna
@mediocrebot
/showme charlie the tuna selling cans of tuna
@mediocrebot
/showme charlie the tuna wearing red socks

Are we still guessing the parody picture origins?
(actually, is that something we ever did?)
Most of them just look like generic movies to me, and I usually don’t know who the celebrities are. But I recognize Cool Runnings today!
(but me recognizing it practically guarantees that everyone else recognizes it, and so no special prize for me)
No cotton, no deal.
If they’re no-show, why do you need different colors?
Maybe it bothers me more than it should…
I got these and dig them. They are a bit sung, but I think they are supposed to be?
These are borderline painfully tight. I wish I had sized up. Maybe it’s just because I have high arches?
So these socks say they fit men’s 8-12. I wear an 11 and can’t even begin to get these on my feet. Not really sure what to do at this point. Not too thrilled I paid for something that’s supposed to fit but doesn’t come close.
