@vanslaterco It depends. Some food items (such as songbirds or small rodents) may be fairly safe to consume while alive, but others - such as poisonous snakes - should definitely be killed first.
When I first got here, before scrolling, I couldn’t see the title. Reading the cans’ images cycling through the various flavors, I thought, “Wow that stuff sounds awful. No wonder it’s on clearance at Meh. Hard pass!”
Then, I scrolled and saw the title. Turns out it’s CAT FOOD.
Much like the “weird” cat mentioned on the main page, my cat gives me the “what the heck is this” look if I give her anything from a can. She’ll take chicken straight if I have scraps from meal prep but turns her nose up at anything else. I guess weird owner = weird cat.
@marvelljones And my weird cat sniffs at and then rejects any scraps I give him of chicken, meat or fish from my own dinner! Probably a good thing, really.
@Kyeh@marvelljones This bunch of cats of mine also reject human food. All my previous 13 or so cats loved it. My first two I had to train to understand “Mine” meaning leave my plate alone. One of them would then stretch her whiskers forward to dip in the food and then back up to lick them off. The other would watch my face and slowly bring a paw forward until I said, “No”. Eventually they learned what “mine” mean and would back off on the first “mine”. I’d then put the plate on the floor and say, “OK” and they’d come and lick the plate clean.
My cats liked this for the first round or two, but after a few times they lost interest. Fortunately I have a regular rotation of foster cats who should be able to finish it off.
My picky Bengals won’t touch anything else now that they have tasted this food and they keep waking me up earlier and earlier for breakfast. It’s good they are cute!

Is this stuff still made in Thailand?
“Give it to us raw and wriggling. You keep nasty chips.”
But, can this make Margarita purr?

Isn’t cat food sold in america safe to consume by humans without killing them?
@vanslaterco It depends. Some food items (such as songbirds or small rodents) may be fairly safe to consume while alive, but others - such as poisonous snakes - should definitely be killed first.
@vanslaterco If you’re eating cat food, you’re dead already.
@vanslaterco I don’t eat anything that comes in a can!
Gonna try it, but queen btch will usually only eat the cheap crap
@Villareale52 And the cheap stuff usually smells very fragrant.
What I buy my cats is cheaper and they love it. Sorry meh. Now if you want to fill a box and put it in my irk that would be fine.
I bought this last time for our elderly feline family member. Miss Thang loved it but puked it back up. I guess organic isn’t her jam
@allergycheryl Maybe she wanted to enjoy it twice - or thrice?
@allergycheryl @rpstrong Yeah I have one cat who, at times, eats cat puke I haven’t cleaned up yet. Totally gross!!!
@Kidsandliz @rpstrong ewww I cleaned it up quickly but in true cat style she had to hurl in multiple locations
@allergycheryl @Kidsandliz Have fun with it:

One mistake I’ve made is having a cup of milk in spot that Toby can reach - he’ll dip a paw into it and lick it off!

I was getting excited seeing the different flavors. Then I scrolled down and saw it was cat food.
@tomogg I, too, am a sucker for sea bream in gravy

@MoonByte5
PICS! PICS! PLEASE show us pictures of your Bengal cats!
I don’t know what some of those ingredients are. I get my cats the catit creamy tubes for a treat 3x or4x a week. I know all of those ingredients.
I looked up the following ingredients that’s in the tuna. WTH?
Sodium selenite ((Na_{2}SeO_{3})) is a toxic, inorganic salt that is used in laboratory research, as a medication, and to decolorize glass.
Selenium is an important trace element for most animals. Like it says, it is also used in some cases as a medication.
Let’s see how Ella Mae likes it.
