Can any of the computer security mehtizen put one of these in whatever you guys put unknown usb sticks in to see what crazy stuff is on it. Because I assume it does nasty stuff to a normal computer.
@KNmeh7@therealjrn Don’t ever take one of these outside and shine it up into the sky. Its pattern is a signal to the Jewish space lasers to arm and prepare to fire.
P.S. Only MTG has the one with the fire-now pattern.
@KNmeh7 If you’re worried, don’t plug it into you PC/laptop. I got some of these for one of my daughters and they’re plugged into a USB hub that isn’t attached to her PC.
Also, they make USB condoms (devices that allow you to plug things into your PC and transmit power but not data). USB condoms are pretty cheap. I use one whenever I’m in a hotel/airport when charging my phone.
Unimpressed with mine that I bought a while back. The star pattern is far too regular: a bunch of lines. What’s shown in the image above is very much what you get: even lines of “stars” with some of them being brighter. A random pattern would have been much nicer.
@therealjrn Yep, that’s it. Looks nothing like a real night sky.
Edit: Oops, I didn’t bother to go to the buy page and see the expanded example of its poor rendering.
Thought the ones I got before were more “projector “
Or are these the same with different photos?
Either way not super cool but good background lighting for your “ cool ‘ hangout.
I bought some of these a while back when they were silly cheap. The brightness on the colors varies. iirc the green ones used the most power at about 60mA (.3W). I was rather disappointed with the star pattern, it’s a simple diffraction grating cover on it. That said you can easily pop them open and unscrew the filter and use them for other non-sanctioned things.

@KNmeh7 It’s not paranoia if they’re really out to get you.

2/$5 isn’t silly cheap, @arloth?
@arloth @haydesigner When silliness has levels you know things have gotten serious.
We actually like the 5-pack we got a few months back. Put them behind the TV for a neat effect.
