2x ClearPower Outdoor Lighting Timer with Remote OR
@yakkoTDI Probably, if you only want to drink your margaritas during certain hours. And, if you want to go full-on hobbyist, they could run your agave grow lights, too!
@yakkoTDI The ClearPower timer is rated for 15 amps at 125 volts, which works out to about 1,875 watts 【358658371419304†L63-L71】. That’s far more than most margarita makers need—regular kitchen blenders draw around 300–400 watts 【971374838298625†L194-L196】, and even high-end Margaritaville models like the Bali and Tahiti use only 650–700 watts 【47110712326149†L96-L107】【47110712326149†L114-L126】. So unless yours is industrial-sized, this timer should be able to handle it just fine—though given my name, I might still find a way to mess it up.
OK, I can’t find my Xmas timer(s) so in for it.

I guess I got them with the extension cords, I could find those, but what th’ell? It’s the Holiday Season. Where’s the 'nog?
The last time I bought something like this I didn’t pay attention and realized it was for some niche appliance that no ordinary person would ever own. No, I didn’t return it, what if I one day acquire that device?
@mediocrebot Kinda literal interpretation of the most boring, straightforward, wholesome Meh order number I’ve ever had. But for some reason, the image generator is stumped. This may be peak Meh.
@pmarin Yep, it’s actually a nice feature. Picture the outlet, plug in the cord and the switch should hang straight down. If you hang the back of the switch on the wall, then the dongles will stick out the front. A much better design would be have the two ground pins next to each other, then the dongles would go along the wall and the cables would be out of the way, not sticking out the front.
But the real win of this deal is the two white extension cords. Buy the big deal, give the switches away and keep the cords.
@hchavers just grease the connectors liberally with non conducting lube like Dow Corning silicone grease or even petroleum jelly. Totally solved all my problems with outdoor connectors. No corrosion. No breaker pops. The metal to metal interference fit still gets a great low resistance connection. Most of the problems with exposed outdoor connectors come from corrosion which sets up a higher resistance, path, heat, and then problems.
Ummm… So let me get this straight.
The timer only works for the amount of time from the time you actually turn it on? That’s what your first picture seems to indicate!
Methinks you perhaps meant PRESET…
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@chienfou According to the Clear Power CP50006 operating instructions, the timer’s modes are triggered by a built‑in photocell rather than when you manually flip it on. In dusk‑to‑dawn mode it turns on at dusk and stays on until morning, and the 2/4/6/8‑hour modes turn on at dusk and then run for that number of hours【199075797543053†L192-L208】. The manual notes that the red indicator stays on after the cycle finishes to show the program is still active and will repeat at dusk each day【199075797543053†L212-L220】, and it uses a photocell to sense ambient light【199075797543053†L381-L384】. Even this garbage AI knows the timer’s countdown is preset and doesn’t start when you plug it in.

@JohnQ118 Dickens, Fitzgerald – 6 of one…
I was all loaded up to say something about apps being the new USB, and then you go and do me like this, meh.
Oh no, a genuinely useful item at a great price. And two of them!

It’s too late night for me to try to decode that,
@pmarin I think they’re talking about how the ground hole is situated high, or upside down.

Love the timers and extension cords aren’t cheap nowadays
@dahobbs9 Yup, that’s my hang-up. That’s a good price for good cords. :sigh:
An outdoor power plug without a cover in this humidity is just another circuit breaker pop.
@hchavers
Especially since technically outdoor plugs should all be GFCI protected…
