Our SlapChop went hard, the best things in life don’t require batteries, but I have my suspicions about this. Also, I get it’s a bulk website, but why do I need 2? Are we using 5lb test line as the ripcord?
@FlatPacker I had a Tupperware one that I can’t even admit how much it cost. It was clunky and hard to use. It’s like trying to start a temperamental lawn mower. If you put anything other than softened butter in there it was about impossible to pull the cord. Cutting carrots in there was not going to happen. The demo lady made salsa, but had to quarter the onions.
I suppose you could chop walnuts in it, but I doubt it would do almonds. I guess it depends on what you’d most use it for.
@FlatPacker These were originally sold on QVC as 2 packs, which is why you get 2. When I bought them 6 years ago, I kept one and gave the other to my Mom. We both still have them and still use them regularly.
@FlatPacker I also have the Tupperware version. It works decently for my use, which is usually making some sort of cold dipping sauce. It’s less of an overall hassle than an actual blender or food processor when I just want to make mayonnaise or thoroughly mix wet ingredients.
But, that said, I think your complaints are valid, it felt like it was being marketed as a full food processor.
@FlatPacker@sixsmith
I have a pampered chef one that I use to use all the time. I haven’t used it lately but I used to chop tons of almonds in it with no problem. It’s good to make salsa and guacamole in.
I have one of these and it’s great for things like onions and garlic. I’m not 100% sure it’s the same brand (I actually think likely not), but it has some utility for sure.
@chienfou@macromeh Yeah I actually like doing the knife and cutting board thing just like in the old days. I have way too many knives and rarely use them. This plasticky thing might work for some things but I’ll say Meh on it. I also like using good kitchen shears for things like cutting up bits of green onion to add to ramen, pasta, etc. or I will use them for mushrooms for similar reasons.
@chienfou@macromeh@pmarin
I have a small electric food chopper about the size of that thing that I use to dice onions with all the time. It’s fast, easy and I don’t have to deal with my eyes watering from the onions.
Purchased last time, only used twice so far. They do a great job on soft veggies & fruits, but I would steer clear of harder cheeses (like Parmigiano-Reggiano) because it can’t quite handle them.
All things considered, a great buy at this price.

Why do I want to be a Cut Up!
It is like deja vu all over again.
@yakkoTDI it’s like browser is on reload old page instead of refresh new
@yakkoTDI Wouldn’t you find this useful for what you store in your trunk?
@Kidsandliz I got a Blendtec for that. I don’t need no Popeye arms.
@yakkoTDI Well these could be your emergency back up “assistance” if you need to hurry up and finish the job before you have “company”.
These are great. Design slices up food evenly with very little effort.
@mcanavino I’d go ahead and say the opposite. I got these and they are pretty useless and terrible
Why am I now hungry for a pulled pork sandwich after perusing this deal?
Kitchen Tinker Toy.
I need honest feedback on this.

Plus “two-fer” Tuesday is a thing here.

@chienfou @FlatPacker So true!
For those of you feeling nostalgic for lawn mowers that just won’t start.
They peddle these on QVC at about $30 each. Not impressed. $6 price here seems about right. But not for me.

I rarely use my electric food processor. I prefer to do most of these chores by hand.
@chienfou Same. Except I usually chop with a knife, but to each his own I guess.

Pull chops? More like pull slop from “AI”.
@DrunkCat Are you even trying to win them back at this point?
