@zhicks1987 Not anymore. The packaging changed to a paper box at least 25 years ago. And the plummeting popularity of the product has greatly reduced its prominence in stores.
@yakkoTDI You’re slipping; no overt double entendre detected. (I will award half a point for the implied one in the homophone.)(Okay, a full point.)
I got these during the last meh-rah-thon as our hose has slowly decayed over the years, I just daisy-chained them together. They seem fine, the copper is pretty superfluous and the sprayers are whatever, but certainly worth the price. Because of how they expand you can use them for about 20s after you turn them off, which is neat I guess.
@ItalianScallion@Milyvan1 Actually, the exact same hose on AliExpress ships from a US location and costs more than the price here on Meh or SideDeal. There are no-name and alphabet-soup “brand” versions that are cheaper (with tariffs included) than AE’s price for this brand, but this Meh deal is still priced lower than all of the ones I saw that were similar.
I picked up a set last time they were offered. So far they’ve held up good. I don’t foresee years of usage, especially if they’re always exposed to the sunlight. UV will break down the inner liner. Kudos
While I don’t have this specific brand (mine were sourced from Aldi) I can attest to the fact that leaving these on the ground for an extended period of time is a bad idea.
Just got back from being gone from the house for about 3 and 1/2 weeks and in our rush to leave forgot to pick these up before we left. Where these laid in the grass it actually grew into the fabric jacket and Bermuda grass runners tried to root. Made them hard to stretch back out on the next use because of the grass trying to hold itself together. Now one piece about 18 inches long has little pieces of grass sticking out of it all the time. Not sure how long they will hang in there, or if they will eventually cause a problem with the inner liner. Just something to be aware of…
Timely, as the hose I bought from amzn had a recall due to bursting and hurting humans. This company sells ads on many of the podcasts I listen to. Irritating owner voice. But if the hose is good, ok.
I got these last time. No trouble as long as one respects the type and is careful with them. I think the sprayers are great! I have flower beds and plantings that need different spray patterns, something for each on these. Buying again even though I probably don’t need them.
I got them last time because we needed a hose & since we’re in an apartment I didn’t want to get a normal one. I’ve used one by itself and chained them with no issues (so far), even used them to clean the wood shingles on the outside of the building we don’t get rain on our shingles since we’re on the 1st floor under an awning. We have a mini garden on the porch so even if they broke tomorrow just knowing what works would probably make the purchase worth it since I’d know what to invest in.

@yakkoTDI
I thought those came in eggs.

@werehatrack @zhicks1987 I am running out of hose jokes because I grew up with this place around.
https://www.amazonhose.com/locations/tampa/
@yakkoTDI “An inch or a mile.” I may still have one of their promotional rulers around. I remember them well.
Two for thirty? No. One for fifteen? Yes.
@Michaelforman is shipping expensive? Also yes
Richard Karn Approved?
Any Canadians here? The two of you can get hosed, eh?

@rsheldiii how long ago was that (because I do worry that the superfluous copper is actually detrimental to the lifespan of the hose)
“AI” Garbage.
@DrunkCat Such creativity day after day.
@yakkoTDI
Yep… got to love cut & paste!
@chienfou @yakkoTDI I guess the “@DrunkCat” “AI” bot still hasn’t been rebooted or there’s a serious bug and a reboot didn’t matter.
@ItalianScallion It’s a boot-sector virus.
@werehatrack Damn. Those are hard to get rid of!
@yakkoTDI lol okay mr. “incorrect fact”. bot some more
Show me the pocket!

Or you can buy them directly from China for 1/2 the cost…
@Milyvan1 But it takes so long to get things from China,
Oh, wait. Never mind.
@Milyvan1 And pay the tariffs yourself, which may eat the cost savings…

@ItalianScallion @werehatrack Did you check Temu? 'Cuz that’s where we got ours for 5.99 USD
@Milyvan1 This brand was not on Temu. Others were, but none at that price when I checked.

Hosers!
@werehatrack Take off, eh!
Poor Mrs. Doubtfire
The hoses are good (for the price), the spray heads are best swapped out for something better.
@theonlybuster We’ve got a deal for that!
Bros before hose
@CraigDanger Sorry, sausage parties are not as fun as a clam bake.
@CraigDanger @yakkoTDI Hmm. Hotboxing.
Garbage…bought these a few months ago. Both leaked from the first try and went straight I. The trash! Save your money!!
@fqsjiullvh that’s what I needed to know.

@chienfou Sounds like the grass has already caused a problem with the hose.
@JohnQ118
So far it’s more aesthetic than functional

Good timing, Meh. We recently realized that we needed a smaller hose for our deck. Not two, but will find a use for the other.
