Rather than resurrecting the observations from March one at a time, here’s a link to the previous discussion of these, replete with both laudatory and cautionary tales, and aspirational yearnings as well. Do with it what you will.
Bought these during the last mehrathon and they work great. When the water is turned off and they shrink back they do look snakelike which was startling at first
@caribou If they’re really not 50’ then let’s get a class-action lawsuit started. The mental anguish caused by the false advertising alone will be worth about $3.67.
Of course the lawyers will get millions.
Get a couple dozen of these and run them all at the same time 24/7 and then after a week you can maybe match the fraction of the energy one “AI” prompt costs.
@DrunkCat@elilupe@Trinityscrew@yakkoTDI The copy is not AI-generated. But, for reasons that are too complicated to explain here, any typos you see are due to AI.
@Fodder650 Canonically, in any given culture, being straight is not considered a kink. On the gripping hand, one culture’s strait is another culture’s kink sometimes. And Cthulhu knows we’ve got enough cultures to fill all the Petri dishes on the planet at this point. And that’s probably where some of them belong.
I got these when they were offered a couple of years ago. The hoses didn’t work as well as I expected for my purpose. I needed to string four of them together. I think that it was a pressure issue. I got rid of them. However, the sprayers are great. I’m still using those.
We have somewhere between bad/lousy pressure & water volume from our outside spigots so these hoses do not work in our situation. I ended up cutting the brass ends off for scrap metal & landfilling the hoses.
50’? I must have gotten a bad one….barely 17’ empty and maybe 30’ when full with water but sprayer turned off and then shrinks a lot when sprayer opened. Truly a joke……
Remember when Woot had that marketplace thingy where users would post deals they found?
Several years ago I found a deal on a 100 for heavy duty rubber garden hose from Sears. I think it was $25.
That hose is amazing. I leave it outside, taking (warmed by the sun) water to my raised beds, every summer. I empty it and leave it in my shed every winter.
It doesn’t kink and shows no signs of any damage from the sun.
I recently shopped for a second hose and couldn’t find anything that didn’t have bad reviews about durability.

Criticize AI daily to get her back!!
I’m tired of seeing these hose.
@AaronLeeJohnson I agree, Why would I want two?
@AaronLeeJohnson TWSS!
/showme TWSS
@AaronLeeJohnson @mycya4me you might need a few more; mine never lasted longer than a few months
@AaronLeeJohnson @mycya4me @pskemp2
TWSS
@AaronLeeJohnson @pskemp2 then if they don’t last long, then way waste the money.
Is that a garden hose in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
@heartny … a 50’ garden hose.

@mediocrebot Thank you. Now i can go eat supper and ruminate on that.

Extremely short … not even close to 50’ for day to day use. They’re … meh.
@caribou If they’re really not 50’ then let’s get a class-action lawsuit started. The mental anguish caused by the false advertising alone will be worth about $3.67.

@caribou my experience as well. Definitely closer to 25’ fully expanded. 50’ total for the two pack was not what I expected
@caribou came here to say that they’re no where near 50’. Of course I’ve been too busy to actually measure.
Get a couple dozen of these and run them all at the same time 24/7 and then after a week you can maybe match the fraction of the energy one “AI” prompt costs.
Lame
@haydesigner Indeed, it is very lame.
@haydesigner You expected more while he is still pining for her?
@yakkoTDI Are you well?
@DrunkCat @yakkoTDI I continue to be on DrunkCat’s side here. AI is bad and using it for frivolous stuff like this is even worse
@DrunkCat @elilupe @yakkoTDI
Is the ad copy AI now?

“copper bullets”?
Weren’t lead bullets good enough for running drinking water through?
Two copper bullets for $40. I can buy 50 complete with powder cases and primers fully assembled for that. Depends on the caliber though.
@tweezak But what are you going to use to clean up after?
“Doesn’t Kink”
Look let’s not shame these hoses okay? If they are into water maybe that’s a selling point.

I’ve never felt more meh about a product.
