@lxskllr Well, you won’t be impressed with the taste. I bought these on SideDeal ~a month ago. The good news is the mocha coffee flavor was less bad than the orange and mixed berry flavors, so I hope the coffees you got are also to your liking.
For the benefit of those who are willing to wade through them, here is the thread with the comments from the last time these were sold here, including some use-based evaluations.
@RachelNicole I think you realized the quantities changed along with the price, so the price per stick has remained the same. Having said that, I do not recommend these due to the taste (or lack thereof).
@mehvid1 lol. That’s either a a great cosign for liquid uv or a devastating sign of our low standards. I had one of each flavor and I thought it was inoffensive to my palate.
I bought these last time they were on here, mixed berry and lemonade. Both are not great.
Mixed berry straight up tastes like Flintstones vitamins. Pretty good if you mix it with a packet of Wild Strawberry Crystal Light, though.
Lemonade is awful. Haven’t found another drink mix to mix it with to make it not taste like ass. I’m out of Wild Strawberry Crystal Light though…
They are both impossible to fully dissolve in water, too. You’re always going to have some gross silt at the bottom of your bottle and you’ll have to make the decision to leave a little in the bottom or risk drinking sand to get that last bit of moisture.
I tried the mocha and caramel latte. Mocha is better. Both definitely have that artificial sweetener flavor. I first mix the powder in a little hot water because if you don’t, it constantly clumps as you drink it.
Says 100mg caffeine in the description but only 60mg caffeine on the label for the + version if that matters to anyone, unless I’m missing something. Also stevia in the non+ version.
These are absolutely Terrible Tasting! Tried all flavors from last sale and went straight to garbage can. Was looking for extra hydrated drink during chemo and radiation but just lost money.
@Sidstone Sorry you’re going through that.
I don’t generally use these kinds of supplements but I sampled the Liquid IV ones at Costco and thought they tasted pretty good, even though they have some stevia leaf extract in them.
@Sidstone Agreed! The berry tastes like it was made 10 years ago and been sitting on the shelf since then. I regret my decision last time. Not gonna fool me twice!
@Sidstone I was so looking forward to trying something new. I live in Arizona and keeping up with my hydration in not always easy. I bought way too many of these on one of the last sales (because it had good reviews on Amazon) and I nearly gagged on the peach flavored packet. I haven’t worked up the courage to try the other flavors.
I’ve had good luck with 40,000 volts by Trace Minerals. Add it to any beverage (or soup, stew, etc) and it gets the job done with only a little salty flavor - just be sure to follow the directions. Good luck with the chemo & radiation. I had my last treatment in Aug 2016, hard to believe it’s been nearly 8 years!
Last time these were sold, I gambled on a huge order of them, specifically because of the flavor complaints. I was hoping they were chalky and unsweet, which others might hate but I would be happy with.
But instead… the smell. I couldn’t place the smell, but it was very strong and made me feel like I was gonna barf. These definitely weren’t going to help me through any hangovers. A lemonade flavor should be pretty simply clean and tart. Right?
/showme Stevia sweetening drinks whether people like it or not. Electrolytes, vitamins and minerals everywhere, with an aftertaste of Steviol Glycosides.
@RachelNicole Asking me? Don’t have any to ship…
But, trying the Buy button seems to provide 24 at the price.
Meh seems to be getting fairly meh with their product listings.
Bah - saw mixed berry and peach and thought this might be good… until I got to the caramel and coffee part. Couldn’t imagine why you’d add caramel to berries but then coffee!!! OMG huge yuck, no way, don’t ruin perfectly good fruit with coffee (of course meh knows that based on the poll the other day). Then when I saw what else was in them I knew there was no way, in this life time, even if no coffee or caramel in them, I’d buy.
I urge caution with Halo hydration based on my recent experience, which was far from satisfactory.
The lemon flavor presented a distinct and unpleasant odor and taste that suggested contamination—a stark disappointment. Upon opening the package, it was immediately apparent that something was afoul, as a noticeable substance must have come into contact with the exterior of the sachets (chemical contamination?), affecting not just the packaging but the product itself. The contamination was pervasive, tainting the stick to the point where the odor and bitter taste were obvious. And it lingered on my fingers from handling.
My wife could smell it from 5 feet away. “Ew! What’s that smell?”
Prioritizing my health and considering the potential risks, I opted for a full refund.
Quality issues aside, from a value standpoint, Halo hydration doesn’t stack up well against competitors like Liquid IV, especially when you break down the cost by ounce and factor in the size differences between the two products. Halo is $2.38/oz. Liquid IV is $2.77 - at full retail, without the quality concerns. LIV can be found much cheaper, if you look around.
Moreover, Halo leaves a residue at the bottom of the glass, failing to fully dissolve—an issue I haven’t encountered with alternatives.
While price comparison may show Halo as seemingly more cost-effective, the reality of the product’s performance and potential safety concerns significantly diminish its value. In all honesty, despite the slightly cost, the quality and safety concerns make Halo a product I cannot recommend.
Sorry, meh! I love you, but this is a definitive pass from me.
They sold for ~ $0.21/stick in January and February, today they are selling for double that amount (probably because of Amazon’s price). Not paying it.
I keep TRYING to buy some of these items but they have been canceling my order weeks after the purchase. Getting tired of wasting my time to figure out what to buy then having it canceled weeks after the sale.
NOT HAPPY!!!
I ordered the peach, the mocha latte, and the caramel latte. I will try almost any peach beverage on principle, and I have to say that this is the worst I have ever consumed. There is a very faint hint of a peach scent both through the package and upon opening. It is utterly undetectable when the contents are dissolved into water, in ranges from 8 to 16 ounces. It is, by any standards, awful and my girlfriend’s face upon trying it confirmed my assessment.
The coffee flavors are a little more palatable. The instruction to “shake” is not kidding. The coffee variants include coconut oil fats that the peach variant does not. Stirring these is an exercise in futility as there will always be an island of encapsulated dry powder in the middle even after 2 solid minutes of aggressive stirring. Shaking provides a suspension that is somewhat reasonable, but the inside of any glass used will immediately be coated with a very visible filmy residue of particles.
The suspicions of some sort of contamination may be well founded, or perhaps these were stored in some overly warm environment. Regardless of the reason, I would never recommend these to anyone. I’d rather drink dilute salt water than the peach stuff.
@Polymathic I wish your experience wasn’t typical. Fortunately for me, I held off buying any when they first appeared so that I could get a report on the peach - and then the reviews came in and I was glad I’d avoided them.

This game sucks.
But does it have what plants crave?
Not dehydrated water, dewatered hydrating.
When you got grunt like an elite, choose Halo!
In for two coffees and an orange. Almost fell out last summer working outside. Hopefully these help, and don’t taste awful.
@lxskllr Well, you won’t be impressed with the taste. I bought these on SideDeal ~a month ago. The good news is the mocha coffee flavor was less bad than the orange and mixed berry flavors, so I hope the coffees you got are also to your liking.
I wanna know what “other natural flavors” are included in these. Wait, wait, don’t tell me.
@hchavers Given the rules for what reportedly can be included in “natural flavors”, you may not want to know. But we all probably should find out.

@werehatrack Last Jan 2 and Feb 8 they were (in meh) exactly 1/2 today’s price. What’s up with that?!
@RachelNicole @werehatrack Bidenomics. Oh, and shrinkflation, but I repeat myself.
@Trinityscrew
@RachelNicole I think you realized the quantities changed along with the price, so the price per stick has remained the same. Having said that, I do not recommend these due to the taste (or lack thereof).
Girlfriend is more the “hydration girlie” but the peach and lemonade varieties from last time have been consumed so they must be pretty okay.
@highonpez My kid and wife both drink Liquid IV and other hydration mixes and these are the worst any of us have ever tried.
@mehvid1 lol. That’s either a a great cosign for liquid uv or a devastating sign of our low standards. I had one of each flavor and I thought it was inoffensive to my palate.
@highonpez @mehvid1 feeling the same. Love liquid IV and drip drop. This one has a gross aftertaste and I love that fake sugar flavor.

@shawn_mitch
@mehvid1 @shawn_mitch what does ass taste like?
@mehvid1 @RachelNicole @shawn_mitch Lemonade Halo, apparently
@shawn_mitch came here to say this, thanks for saving me the work
I tried the mocha and caramel latte. Mocha is better. Both definitely have that artificial sweetener flavor. I first mix the powder in a little hot water because if you don’t, it constantly clumps as you drink it.
Overall, it’s fine. Not good. Not bad.
Says 100mg caffeine in the description but only 60mg caffeine on the label for the + version if that matters to anyone, unless I’m missing something. Also stevia in the non+ version.

@Sidstone Agreed! The berry tastes like it was made 10 years ago and been sitting on the shelf since then. I regret my decision last time. Not gonna fool me twice!
@Sidstone Hope you came out the other side of that torture in remission. Cancer sucks. I wish you well.
@Sidstone I was so looking forward to trying something new. I live in Arizona and keeping up with my hydration in not always easy. What kind of psychopath drinks a latte for hydration?

@3Phen I am pretty certain these are chemically contaminated. See my review below.
/showme Stevia sweetening drinks whether people like it or not. Electrolytes, vitamins and minerals everywhere, with an aftertaste of Steviol Glycosides.
@EvilSmoo That should confuse it.
@mediocrebot It’s beautiful. A beer with candy garnish, the expressions on the faces, and swirling for some reason.
last Jan 2 and Feb 8 they were (in meh) exactly 1/2 today’s price. What’s up with that?!
@RachelNicole They have to recover storage costs?
@phendrick If it is 48 vs. 24, then the price does match the two prior offerings (on 1/2 and 2/8)… how many will you ship for $9.99 ?
@RachelNicole
Asking me? Don’t have any to ship…
But, trying the Buy button seems to provide 24 at the price.
Meh seems to be getting fairly meh with their product listings.
Why does it say pick your 48 pack at the top of the copy if it’s only for 24? Which is it?
@Woody1 It’s 24.
Bah - saw mixed berry and peach and thought this might be good… until I got to the caramel and coffee part. Couldn’t imagine why you’d add caramel to berries but then coffee!!! Stevia, it’s always stevia. Remove the stevia and these might taste good.
Hubs and I really like the coffee ones. I was nervous about trying the other flavors after seeing the comments.

@Eric714 Not saying I don’t believe you, but what did the forensics lab work come up with?
@Eric714
Can you summarize for those of us that don’t have the ability to read a 3 page essay?
They sold for ~ $0.21/stick in January and February, today they are selling for double that amount (probably because of Amazon’s price). Not paying it.
@RachelNicole We’ve sold them for the same price every time. Either 48-for-$20, or 24-for-$10.
@RachelNicole
#Inflation
‘Shiny Puffy People’ sounds like a deal event made for inflatable wolves like me.
Should I be worried that my hydration supplement order tag has the word “cramp” in it? brown-cramped-yeti
@atascabeno LAst time I had brown and cramped together was when I had food poisoning.
The mocha is pretty decent… however a coworker asked me when I started dipping…
I keep TRYING to buy some of these items but they have been canceling my order weeks after the purchase. Getting tired of wasting my time to figure out what to buy then having it canceled weeks after the sale.

Coffee ones are not good to say the least. The fruit ones are much better. Especially if you’re a fruity person to begin with.
