How long is the shelf life?
The Prepared Hero Dry Stop Fire Spray manufacturer recommends replacing unused canisters every 6 years to ensure reliable performance in an emergency.
Would probably have bought a combo pack of 2+2, but don’ want to spend 60 bucks for 4+4.
@cfg83 insulated bags will slow thermal exchange, not stop it entirely. Eventually it will normalize to ambient. Unless you are constantly taking the extinguisher out and putting it back every day.
Am I missing something, or just getting mixed signals here?
“The portable aerosol can is lightweight and easy to store in kitchens, vehicles, backyards, and other convenient locations” Do not leave in a vehicle
Do not store in location hotter than 120°F
/showme Run-D.M.C. rocking their signature Adidas shoes, putting out a small fire on a microphone stand wrapped in scarves using a Dry Stop fire extinguisher, while Aerosmith lead singer, Steven Perry, looks on in surprise.
In my younger adventuring days in a 4WD pickup, I had a Halon extinguisher strapped between the big bench seat and the driver door. Truck was big enough there was room; theoretically you could reach down from the driver position and unlatch the strap. Fortunately, was never needed.
As an inert gas don’t think there were long term chemical aging concerns as there would be with these. But, CFCs, Yay! Not sure you can still get them. Used to be common in boats, race cars, computer rooms.
Edit: I remember larger boats also also some race cars had automated emergency Halon systems. And once at work I set some big electronic equipment on fire (not intentionally, I swear!). And it was a holiday weekend. Fire dept responded with oxygen masks as they routinely do now. Later found out the automatic Halon system had been disabled for years.
This offer is misleading. I thought FIRE SPRAY meant that the spray would go on fire, not extinguish it! I got so many pests I still need to get rid of!
What am I going to do now???

@phendrick I will NOT do this, but if you kept the bottle in an insulated bag in the trunk, would that be a viable way to keep it from overheating?

@cfg83 @jamesmcp
this!
Man, under the grill grate is where I keep my charcoal!
No info on what their expiration date is?

@thevorlon might be safe storing it in the trunk where it’s cooler?
@thevorlon @Trogdor248 Yeah, I asked if you put it in insulated bag to keep under more temp control.
@thevorlon
Sooooo, not legal in Arizona?
@cfg83 @thevorlon
Just because it’s “easy to store” there doesn’t mean you should!

Seems like an ok deal. What is the lifespan on standard fire extinguishers?

This offer is way too Hot for me!

What am I going to do now???
Ok. Who in sam-hell did the naming and packaging?
It says Vapor “CLEAN”, It’s in a BLUE bottle and it says FIRE SPRAY.
Is it an air freshener, a window cleaner or an arson essential?
Someone panicking after starting a margarita induced kitchen fire is not going to innately grab a blue bottle of “spray”.
