I got a bunch of these last time. They don’t feel like they’d even work, but they’re almost too good at being absorbant. They don’t do a damn thing to pull water out of hair, but one quick swipe over your body, and you’re as dry as you’ve ever been in your life.
I will use these to dry the (chair style) seat and controls of the scooter I use to get around our property. I have a couple of smaller bulky towels in the trunk now- they take up too much room, and aren’t very absorbent.

@SnDMommy Hard same. I assume other people’s skin is made out of something else because it’s only me who it bothers seemingly. And now you, new skin friend! Finally I am not alone.
@SnDMommy These aren’t like regular microfiber. They are perfectly flat, no “Terrycloth” at all. Nothing to pull on your skin. They are more like a sheet.
But I would read the write up, they aren’t really good as regular towels.
These are great for toweling off after a swim, a shower, or a workout. Just be sure to wash them separately from regular towels.
Disclaimer: I’m bald so drying hair is not a concern for me.
@melanie1424 They pick up every piece of lint from “normal” towels (especially cotton) and other clothing, then it stays stuck to them unless you meticulously brush them out. Washing and drying them repeatedly won’t remove the lint.
@johnsnj53 probably pretty poor. I would get something specifically made for cars. These aren’t going to have the same fibers on them that are designed for picking up water.
Obviously the complainers are not swimmers. These towels are fantastic. They are absorbent and dry quickly. The thinness makes them great to carry to the pool or beach, as they don’t take up much space in my swim bag. I usually carry 2 or 3 towels in the space of a regular towel. I have bought these multiple times and give them to my family and coworkers (I lifeguard). They are the bomb!
I made the write up! I really only pull these out when I wash the dogs. They are really good for covering things up, they are so huge. I forgot, I have one covering the dog car chair thing to protect it from generalized grossness.
Measured thickness: 0.38mm for the Wise Owl fabric. Measured thickness of four different brands of household paper towel, 0.19mm to 0.41mm. (The thinnest was Sam’s Club Member’s Mark.) Blue shop towels, off-brand, 0.27mm, Scott 0.43mm. Unknown brand small microfiber non-terry kitchen towel, 0.61mm. Blue ShamWow, 0.84mm uncompressed (used, washed several times) (The yellow ones are a lot thicker.) Compressed thickness of the blue sham is dependent upon the clamping pressure, but the micrometer’s thimble friction would only take it to 0.53mm
Wow… That’s a lot of inventory to have laying around!
(That bring said… if these are anything like the other ones that I bought in the past they’ll work great for our RV trip this summer. @werehatrack (or anyone else) any thoughts on the thickness difference (if any) in those 2 items?)
Life’s too short to mess with paper-thin towels of unknown chemical origin. Good quality, thick cotton towels are happy-making. That said, one of these might be useful in my workout duffel, but four??
We bought these last go round. We love them. They’re huge but roll up tiny. Perfect for travel when a tiny hotel towel doesn’t cut it, as a blanket on the plane and for sitting on your lounge chair. They’re super absorbent & dry quickly.
BTW… The others (bath towels) came in a nice zippered pouch. Any idea if these do as well? Would be super practical if you throw these in the car to keep them from getting dirty and keep them contained in a small space.
Bought on previous offer. Work great in the gym bag - absorbency keeps a used towel from soaking everything else in the bag post-workout. Needs a few wash cycles to lose the stiff microfiber feel.
Got a smaller version of these last year. They are definitely thin but they get the job done for drying off from the pool. Do these larger ones come with a shark? That would make this an incredible deal.
I bought these last time too, very happy with them. We take them to the beach to sit on and also the gym for yoga believe it or not. Best part is the size compared to how small they are rolled up.

@finalremix Did you use all six sides?
@finalremix agreed. They don’t feel good like a thick towel, but they are really absorbent
Too Thin? Double two together.
@JohnQ118 So they go from too thin to two thin?
@yakkoTDI mebbe, I’ll find out, I placed an order… I plan to use them on the bed for our cat(s).

It appears you have invested in microfiber on the market. Still waiting for cotton sheets especially organic.
@craigcush On meh? I would guess you’re going to be waiting a long time…
Am I the only person that despises microfiber towels? Not only do they not actually dry anything but the microfiber pulls at my skin.

@SnDMommy @winfield Meh forums - connecting the differently-disposed for over a decade!
Would these be good college dorm towels? Low bulk and quick dry seem ideal
@mcscheidt Even in a dorm setting, I would rather have a smaller 100% cotton towel.
When I was pressed for space and my laundry machine couldn’t handle large loads, I’ve used my hands to brush off the excess water after a shower.
Then used Hand Towel sized towels to final dry, and they easily fit in smaller washing machines and take less time to dry.
These are great for toweling off after a swim, a shower, or a workout. Just be sure to wash them separately from regular towels.

@marvelljones why do they need to be washed separately?
@melanie1424 They pick up every piece of lint from “normal” towels (especially cotton) and other clothing, then it stays stuck to them unless you meticulously brush them out. Washing and drying them repeatedly won’t remove the lint.
How are these for drying off a car or giant SUV?
@johnsnj53 probably pretty poor. I would get something specifically made for cars. These aren’t going to have the same fibers on them that are designed for picking up water.
These are more like tablecloths than towels. Very large and very thin. Can you dry yourself with a tablecloth? Yes. Would you want to do that? No.
That said, they work great on a pool chair to keep it from heating up to 1100 degrees in the sun. They cover the entire surface of the lounge chair.
So they are thin?
Looking at this on my phone made it appear to be an optical illusion.
Strange.

@MrNews
Throw the extras in your vehicle(s) for that day you need something to sit on while you change a tire etc

Tagging @troy and @jouest
@chienfou Nope – these do not come in a black pouch like the smaller towels
@chienfou
But they do come with an elastic loop attached that will keep it rolled up and compact
@pyro008 @troy
Thanks. That helps. Think these would compress enough to fit into a 1 gallon ziplock?
@chienfou @pyro008 @troy Yes they will. I roll mine up and it fits inside my big straw sun hat to keep it from getting crushed in my luggage.
@ticklescratch
thanks!

@FoodGeekFish
yeah… the bath towels bled blue the first few times we washed them as well.
can anyone attest to the thickness/thinness vs the bath towels previously sold here??
Wise Owl says: “AI” is for chuds.
@DrunkCat Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers do not listen to Wise Owl just like they are not listening to your pleas to win them back.

I bought these last time for dog towels. I used one for the park and one for baths. They work great!
