@brainmist@pakopako Not sure that’s better, if you see the way commercial store-bought chickens are raised, or “farmed” salmon.
Ocean line-caught tuna is probably better. As is Northwest wild salmon especially if you can get it fresh for a while (season just starting; first batch is the Copper River which is thought to be the best but starts out very expensive).
I love inaba products. Their chicken treats don’t include tuna. Our cat Shortie is sensitive to tuna and it makes him uncontrollably sick. We found out by giving him the delectables chicken treats and the main ingredient being tuna.
@joe645 My cat only liked one kind of tuna cat food (was called tuna for cats at trader Joe’s), it is discontinued though. They had another one but he didn’t like it.
I found if I cooked a real tuna steak from the grocery store, or salmon, he would like those. I made sure to make a portion with no seasoning for him.
@PooltoyWolf Mix with a little mayo, some fresh cracked pepper, and a squeeze of lemon, spread on rice crackers and it’s the perfect lunch/late afternoon snack. Don’t ask me how I know. . .
Seriously, this stuff is not bad a’tall. Added bonus: it shuts my yowling cathole right up when he smells it in his dish.
Art roughly 16 to 32 bucks a pound I think I’ll just buy the real thing.
Plus my cats are more fond of shrimp… Bandit goes bat-shit-crazy-demanding each time we fix some for dinner.
@mediocrebot If I had a doctor that walked into the room wearing that, I would either be impressed or terrified. Or both. But as we are mostly getting AI doctors these days, might not matter soon. Copying @DrunkCat since it seems to be trying to claim the throne from @mediocrebot as the new AI overlord.
Too many choices! And I don’t know which ones my cats will eat and which ones they’ll throw at me. Maybe I should get two - one chicken and one tuna - and go with the most expensive variety of each (based on Amazon) based on the assumption that Inaba wouldn’t charge more if it wasn’t in higher demand?
Does that make any sense? Bueller?
Conclusion: Chicken+Crab, Tuna+Shrimp. Rolling the dice… if they turn their noses up, at least I can donate them to the local pet food pantry.
@Kenbuzz Bueller? So hard to believe it’s 39 years from Ferris Beuller, and 40 from Breakfast Club (there were a lot of others like 16 Candles, etc). It was a great time. So weird to see some of the actors together again with grey hair (or much less hair) and stuff. Glad to see the original casts were still around (except sadly the artist John Hughes who we lost).
Wait why am I in this rabbit hole? Oh, yes, cats need a variety of foods. They will like some and hate some. Getting a variety pack maximizes your chance of at least ONE thing your cat will eat. That might even last for a while until the “uh uh I’m tired of this” moment. I love cats!
We should have a sticker for
“Cats, the only animals more fickle than me!”
@lindwright Yeah trial and error. Good to have friends with cats, or donate to kitty pantry. I don’t have kids but apparently kids are like that too. “Oh that’s my favorite, let’s have it every night. Wait, I hate this stuff now, why are you serving it!”
They have green tea extract. Um… that means caffeine, right? So basically these are espresso shots for cats? Yeah, I’ll pass on these. My cats are already batty without a caffeine boost, and I’m pretty sure caffeine is toxic to them.
I’m late to the party, but I refer to Inaba Churu as “crack.” I give it to dogs and cats and they go absolutely crazy. My friends animals won’t leave me alone when I visit because they know I have Crack on me. Haven’t tried this style but I had to get some. These things are worth their weight in gold!
What’s going on?
A few years ago it was all prepper stuff. Buckets of freeze dried food powder, knifes, generator, survival gear, and tools.
Now that it finally looks like end is near, cat food at least once a week.
Didnt get mine! No reply from MEH not happy with this co. My my cats love this product. But guess Ill have to buy it elsewhere.Spreading the News today.DONT BUY FROM MEH!!!
Popping in to say the chicken in chicken broth are an enormous hit with my three floofs and I now regret not buying multiple boxes when this deal was live.
It’s literally a piece of cooked chicken breast and it looks delicious.
Would it be cheaper to buy my own chicken, cook it, and serve it to my cats? Sure. But these save me from having to do the shopping, cooking, and what would amount to meal prepping (separating pieces, vacuum sealing them, storing them, etc).

I welcome our new Cat overlords!!
Thank you for providing offerings for the great ones.
@yakkoTDI New? They already thought they were. Powers granted from the great Egyptians 5000 years ago.

This looks better than my can of tuna. What makes this a non human treat?
@pakopako it costs substantially more per pound than, say, a broiler chicken, or salmon by the pound?
@brainmist @pakopako Not sure that’s better, if you see the way commercial store-bought chickens are raised, or “farmed” salmon.

I can finally start building my street cat army
Cat treats AI the same way it treats toilet paper and curtains.
@DrunkCat Stares motionless for several minutes like it sees a spider or something then falls asleep?
@DrunkCat Such a well crafted sentence you got there AI user. That will surely win them back.
@yakkoTDI Please resubmit your comment in the form of a showme prompt.
@brennyn I just want to appreciate how you added two separate, unrelated and unlisted, items to the original analogy to question the integrity of it.
@DrunkCat It’s more that I’m questioning the toilet paper.

@kjady wow, pretty!
Why should my cats eat better than I do?
@phendrick When my cats eat well, they don’t wake me at the ass crack of dawn screaming for food.
@phendrick Like you don’t know it is because they are better than you.
Finally something my cats will enjoy!
Didn’t realize we were already getting to treats made from cats,
/youtube people of Springfield please don’t eat my cat
Sorry my stupid cat won’t eat tuna
@joe645 My cat only liked one kind of tuna cat food (was called tuna for cats at trader Joe’s), it is discontinued though. They had another one but he didn’t like it.

So, can humans eat “human grade” pet food? What does it taste like?

Can I give it to my dogs
@rzaffke If it’s anything like mine, sure
We will. Our doggo dermatologist uses churuus (same company) to help give dogs medicine. That and mini marshmallows for pills (!!)
But can I eat this?
@shaungreen426 Yes you can. Will you enjoy it is the important question.

Cat treats - that’s what we used to call the Kitty Roka that a previous dog would snag from the litter box.

i wish there were a combo pack. My cat gets tired of any treat after 3 offerings

@formfeed Last time we sold cat food was in January
The tuna-in-tuna-sauce arrived, and Star self-selected as QC Tester. They passed. (She is now even more of a pest.)
Got Chicken in Chicken Broth today, Sept 2025 expiry. Anyone received any flavors with 2026 expiry? Thinking about ordering another variety

@steelopus
News flash! Still available at Side Deal.
Slightly more expensive, but my VMP discount basically washes it out. I just bought another box.
