@catthegreat I can tell you it is very classy and tasteful. Everybody loves my linoleum patch job. People tell me all the time how much they love my linoleum floor and then they ask “Is this really mostly super thick tape holding this together? Isn’t that what the Royal Family uses in Windsor Castle when their cheap kitchen floor tears?” Then I have to tell them, their floor isn’t cheap. They just love this tape too. They put it down anyway just so their grand kids can slide across it wearing socks.
I’m famous, too! And I was going to get more, but I still have a bunch of the stuff from the last time I bought it. It’s still holding on tightly to the roof of the shed… and we’re due for an “atmospheric river” to hit this week.
I have this & I have used it to make a few repairs around the house and it’s worked well. Better for some tasks than others.
it’s best if you store this inside the house so won’t get too hot. Here in the deep South tape tends to get trashed over the span of a few years if you keep it out in the shop where temperatures reach over 100 on a regular basis in the summer.
As usual YMMV.
Also TIL if you start a line with # it makes it bold and larger type
anyway, a friend who worked in construction for many years said always put any kind of tape (masking, duct, etc) in a sealed plastic bag. Supposedly prevents it drying out or getting otherwise degraded in various environments.
I don’t think I need more but as other have said, this stuff is fantastic. I have a metal watering can that I like but over years it formed a crack and leak around the inside lower trim. I was able to cut out pieces of this to actually create a seal and stop that drip. My watering can is probably about to fail in other ways, but this is a good product for some jobs that other patches just aren’t up to.
I just got my delivery. I’ve tried a couple of interesting things with the tape. Probably the most interesting was using it to clean black heads and a general face cleanser. Also mouth tape while sleeping.
Just used a couple of rolls from a prior purchase to tape up the plastic on the cold frame I built over a tropical plant I have outside. Working ideally.

Good ole Hell and Bowel.
FlexTape actually works.
Accept no substitutes
I am obligated to say that this stuff will in fact patch punctures in inflatables, though it’s not for seam leaks.
I’m sleepy and my eyes aren’t working and I read this as Windshield repair tape at first.
Wondered why anyone would need six rolls of windshield repair tape.
This is probably more useful than windshield repair tape.
I’m buying more only because you quoted me. … And because I have yet more holes in my linoleum that need patching.
@Not_Bot_Not At these prices, wouldn’t you rather upgrade to an entire Alien
floor that’s waterproof
??
@txstiger Yes… but installing tape is much easier.
@Not_Bot_Not they’ll quote that comment next time they sell it too.
@Not_Bot_Not I’d love to see a photo of this linoleum patch job

You will never replace my Duck Tape!
@hchavers
…your loss…
@hchavers porque no los dos? Use the right tool for the job. I"m not buying more Alien Shield, but this stuff is goooood
@hchavers @slipperyp
My thoughts exactly.
They are not the same.
Each has it’s purpose.
Shows “Amazon’s price” of $36 but those are 15 foot rolls. Just sayin, wasn’t sure if IRK forgot to put a 1 before the 5
@dahobbs9 Amazon is 3 x 5’ for a total of 15’
This stuff is not a good substitute for toilet paper
@harborvu if it holds well enough, you’ll never need to use toilet paper again.
Is it Mac Compatible?
@mycya4me I checked, Mac says it sticks to his buns just fine. Your weekend should be amazing.
@yakkoTDI ROTFLOL!
@mycya4me Is it available in Georgia Red?
Just a couple of thoughts.
As usual YMMV.

like this
@chienfou Huh. I wonder if that works in a reply…
…and the answer is Nope.
@chienfou
#wow didn’t know that
anyway, a friend who worked in construction for many years said always put any kind of tape (masking, duct, etc) in a sealed plastic bag. Supposedly prevents it drying out or getting otherwise degraded in various environments.
@chienfou @pmarin @werehatrack It can work, but the # needs to be on its own line and with a space after it.
# H1
## H2
### H3
#### H4
##### H5
###### H6
@chienfou @narfcake @pmarin And now I’m really curious…
####### H6 was already small, does H7 get smaller? Nope! It stops with H6, which will be handy to know.
PARTICULARLY WHEN TRYING TO SOUND LIKE DEATH.
@chienfou @pmarin putting them in their own bag also contains the leaking paste they will produce
I bought this before and use it often. Worth the purchase IMHO. It holds up really well.

@Chronicle
Wouldn’t reccomend the mouth tape, though it worked really well, it left my face smelling of adhesive afterwards.
Just used a couple of rolls from a prior purchase to tape up the plastic on the cold frame I built over a tropical plant I have outside. Working ideally.
