@jaybird@jeffreywsnyder I am a 40 or 42 and I got the XL 6in cool cotton last time. I would get that size again. I like that they are are little snug and I don’t feel they are too tight. They stay put.
@jaybird@jeffreywsnyder The person I know who wears them says that at a 38" waist, you would be happier with the XL. The L will be very snug in the waistband. (He recently sized down from the XL to an L, after weight loss.)
@shahnm Serious answer? They have actual “equipment space” because of that seam, which makes them much more comfortable if the wearer has a lot of equipment in the space, so to speak.
@dpease I bought them last time. I am a 33 waist and the medium initially felt a little tight, but there’s a lot of flex in the waist band so it fits fine. I can’t speak to the durability, but they’re now my go-to underwear. They’re soft and comfortable, but they don’t feel as thick and durable as Exficio.
@dpease everywhere else I have seen the size chart for Tommy John XXL has the same 3 inch range as every other size, which seems more realistic. Granted there will be a bit more room because if the waist stretches by x percent, well, there’s more waist to start with. But not that much more.
@dpease That tracks. At 36-38" waist, the XL was the right size for the person I know who wears them. During COVID weight gain, the XL got uncomfortably snug. If you wear a 40" or higher pant size, XXL is going to be the better fit.
@TrinSF I don’t doubt it but my point is will XXL really fit 43 inch waists and 50 inch waists? Seems very unlikely that’s the correct range of waist measurements supported by a single size of underwear
@dpease Ah. Without getting into detail, as someone with 50+ years of sewing/materials experience, the bigger the waistband, the more waistband there is to stretch. As a result, a 23" waistband will have a smaller range of stretch than a 40" waistband. It’s therefore entirely reasonable that larger sizes will have a larger stretch range.
What I’m saying here is that, for example, if every 10" of waistband material has a 20% stretch limit, then a 20 inch band can stretch to 24", 30 inch waistband can stretch to about 36", but a 40 inch waistband can go to 48" – and 20% is conservative for this particular kind of waistband.
Same with the fabric itself – the larger the size, the larger the range of stretch that size can have in the butt/hips area.
@dpease@TrinSF makes sense. I get ads for cmfrt sweatshirts/pants. They have different size charts for different styles of sweatshirts, I sent questions thinking the size chart was wrong, never got a real good explanation, then read that it was a scam, or at least someone was trying to scam the real site or something. I changed my mind and just gave up on ordering them, but am still curious about their sizing chart. If you ever venture to their page and can see what I’m talking about and can explain, I’d love to know. But still prob won’t buy bc I don’t know which is the scam site, vs the real site.
@mehenjoyer You want honesty? Person I know who wears these has loose skin from bariatric surgery. The 8" hides that and gives a better line in clothes or situations with partial clothes. Told it makes them feel less self-conscious about it.
@TrinSF and that’s great, however it doesn’t mean they can’t have options for people that don’t need that In the 5+ years I’ve watched Meh deals, they’re always ugly styles that don’t appeal to me. Just voicing that.
Don’t take my fashion opinions personally, to each their own and to me that ain’t it
@uscpsycho Cotton is comfortable for everyday wear but it absorbs sweat and will turn your dick into hamburger if you run in them.
Polyester doesn’t absorb water and causes sweat to get pulled to the surface through capillary action (‘wicking’). It helps keep your bits dry when working out, and makes you much less prone to chafe.
@troy@uscpsycho The cotton tends to get looser as you wear it. The polyester does not. Think of a t-shirt stretching out, vs. spandex, if that makes sense.
@uscpsycho No issue with the legs riding up here - but if you have even a “minor gut” you may find the waistbands tend to roll up after a few wear/wash cycles.
@uscpsycho The legs do not ride up in the polyester. The cotton sometimes loosens during a day of wearing and can begin to do that at the end of the day. This is for 8". They stay in place consistently.
I bought these last time they were on sale here. I purchased a medium, my normal size in pants and such, and they were too tight. I tried to return but, in typical Meh fashion, they would not let me—even though the boxes were unopened. I recommend sizing up. Otherwise, they are great.
@macromeh@sglewis I actually bought two orders, so one entire order of 3 was (is) still in the box. The other order has 2 unopened boxes because the deal is 3 packs of 2.
I bought these last go-round, and have to say, the weenie wagger is really innovative. Really sets the weenie up for lots of wags! And it gives a new look to the bean bag as well, the ladies really like it.
@Exist I think Ambidextrous Cock Pockets would be a great name for a punk rock band. Wait, are there still punk rock bands? Back in the day there were such great names:
The Sex Pistols
Circle Jerks
Burning Sensations (not good?)
Juicy Bananas
The last 3 of these appear on the Repo Man (1984) soundtrack. A great soundtrack from the 80’s and a great movie too.
Along with Airplane!, one of the most quotable movies of all time.
@pmarin I saw the Menstrual Tramps last Friday, so both punk rock and the tradition of giving bands names that make the norms cringe are alive and well.
My favorite is “couldn’t enjoy it any more than this, mom”
@Exist@pmarin Funny you should mention it, Ambidextrous Cock Pockets is the name of my Sex Pistols cover band. We also do some Iggy Pop, just to mix things up.
@scapri my gf use to steal mine and now exclusively wears the tj 360 6" for workouts and air as pj bottoms. the 360 is similar to the performance basics. she freaking loves them. the name on the band is obnoxious but this brand is really quality and costs $20-40 a pair depending on the fabric. getting 6 pairs for the cost of one could be worth giving em a try if you haven’t already.
I’m honored to have been quoted twice in the sale description and I am not a shill. I’m a kickstarter how could I be lol? I just really do like TJ although in true candor I like the trunks better than the boxer briefs.
A member of my household wears exclusively this brand, in the performance/sport styles. Their appeal is the fit and the opening which reduces “fall out” of equipment of all kinds. Yes, they are branded at the waistband, but that’s pretty much the norm for all kinds of men’s boxer briefs.
@hau The 360 Sport have the same material makeup as the Performance – 88% Polyester, 12% Spandex. I’d expect similar if not exactly the same… performance
Hmmm… bout the same price as Costco’s Champions. They aren’t bad but I would never say they are good either. Thin & don’t last all that long. I had some Tommy Hilfiger’s that lasted 10 years! But now the Tommy Hilfiger’s are a lot like the Champs. Thin, weak, not bad, but not exceptional either.
@Joedetroit my every days are pumas from costco, similar to champions. they’re meh but it works for the value. i tried tj’s when they went on sale and the quality is beyond comparison. tommy hilfiger imo isn’t really quality. they make a lot of things, but tommy JOHN is an underwear company, they specialize in it. each tommy john pair is anywhere from $20-40. 6 pairs for the price of one is hard to beat. i prefer the performance over cotton personally since i can wear it to the gym and it hugs just right.
@Joedetroit if you can swing two i’d say it’s a good investment. this is the second time ive seen them on meh, so they’ll prob be back. i got the cotton last time and regretted it. it kept rolling up. i did get the 4" though, so that was probably the reason. getting 6" performance this time since i know they don’t roll.
Can we change size to small before it’s sent. I wear medium pants but I don’t seem to fit mediums in underwear. I received different underwear in mail yesterday and medium was too big. Thanks
@user17101314@mjarrell47 We are a little behind due to the volume of orders this deal had. Working hard to get them all out! Shouldn’t be much longer… thanks for your patience
Still not shipped. It’s been a while since I’ve ordered from meh, I remember the shipping being super slow but I don’t remember it taking quite this long to ship. Has it gotten worse?
@jayrandom There’s a reply from @troy above, posted yesterday, stating that the orders for this item are taking longer than usual to ship. The delays are sporadic; I don’t know why, but some stuff just doesn’t go out as fast as one would hope, while other things seem to arrive improbably soon.
@jayrandom@troy@werehatrack I believe them when they say they received quite a few orders. Quite a popular deal at that price. Received mine 2 days ago. Very happy with them.
Great deal but if shipping would have been included i would not have an opinion about it however this purchase took place on March 10th and I have yet to receive the order.
I just wore a pair of these (cotton) for the first time, and they’re fine I guess? I don’t have strong feelings either way. They’re a bit snug as others reported, but they stretch so they ultimately feel fine. I’d say I’d get the same size (my usual) next time, but if someone else was looking for advice and they were right between sizes, I’d say go up one.
So the material and fit are fine. I’m not sure about the horizontal opening though; it works fine, but I think it’s slightly less convenient than the traditional vertical one.
I’d say I’d buy these again if I needed more pairs (of any type) but I’m not going to get more to stock up at this time.
I ordered these and ordered size XL for my Fiancé. One of the boxes had a size L and a XL in it, the rest were all XL. I’m not worried about it as he didn’t really care and will wear them. But I saw a few more reviews where they got the wrong size. Seems common and kind of sucks if someone really does need the size ordered…that’s what you expect to get.
An update for those still waiting - it’s definitely taking us longer than we’d expected to get these out, partly because we sold way more than we’d estimated. (By some metrics it was Meh’s biggest deal ever.)
Unfortunately, while the bulk of the sales went pretty smoothly (~40% have been delivered, another ~40% have shipped), we’re still working on the remaining 20%. Mostly that’s just delays in getting them out the door, but also includes a few issues with mis-shipments and out-of-stock issues.
We expect everyone who ordered will either move to shipped status or get an email with more details by Monday.

@yakkoTDI not if you take them to obedience classes while they’re still puppies.
@pmarin @shahnm @yakkoTDI I don’t know - it left me in stitches
@pmarin @quattrose @yakkoTDI Yeah. This is a pretty good thread.

Well, crap my drawers. I just bought a pack of these on sidedeal 2 days ago
@jaybird wonder if I could get reimbursed for the price difference since they still haven’t shipped
@jaybird
Comment on the size please.
I am a 38. Specs says that is a LARGE.
But I am a the high end of a LARGE: 35-38.
Would you recommend a size up if on the cusp of the size chart, an XL
@jaybird they’ve been processed though.
I’ve asked the same before
@jeffreywsnyder I’d love to help, but if you’d read my comment, I don’t have them yet
@jaybird @jeffreywsnyder I am a 40 or 42 and I got the XL 6in cool cotton last time. I would get that size again. I like that they are are little snug and I don’t feel they are too tight. They stay put.

Whatcha eating under there?
@jmhsrv
Under… what??
@jmhsrv @shahnm Under where?
Why do these men’s’ briefs have camel toes??
@shahnm To make you jealous.
@shahnm @yakkoTDI Because the whole camel won’t fit.
@shahnm Serious answer? They have actual “equipment space” because of that seam, which makes them much more comfortable if the wearer has a lot of equipment in the space, so to speak.
The comparison prices are ludicrous. I bought these last time and they are good but no better than Jockey, IMO. Worth it for the meh price though.

@jeffreywsnyder @tweezak you might feel a pinch; if you want more slack, size up
@pakopako @tweezak

anyone actually have these? They look good.
XXL is 43-50 inch waists? I don’t see how the range can be so high.
@dpease I bought them last time. I am a 33 waist and the medium initially felt a little tight, but there’s a lot of flex in the waist band so it fits fine. @jnerdy You have come to… Meh.
@jnerdy Full Maturity!
@806D2701 the hell you say

@OnionSoup Sideways, though.

@jeffreywsnyder I measured and used the size chart from the Tommy John site. It had me go up a size from what I usually use.
@pitchblackck Size up. I got these the last time. I’m a 36 and they are bit tight on me. I should have gone XL.
@gryhnd @pitchblackck - Yes
@jeffreywsnyder @pitchblackck For 38, recommend the XL. The L will be snug.
@pitchblackck @TrinSF

Every Meh underwear deal are these ugly down-to-your-knees style

Does everyone live in ice or for what reason do you need so much thigh coverage
@trixter313 I mean… we have a 4-inch option
@troy 4 inches gonna be longer than my short shorts… I’ll take all your full jocks
@mehenjoyer You want honesty? Person I know who wears these has loose skin from bariatric surgery. The 8" hides that and gives a better line in clothes or situations with partial clothes. Told it makes them feel less self-conscious about it.
@mehenjoyer Oh, and as a bonus, their junk doesn’t hang out the bottom, which it does on shorter ones. I think this is a show-er vs. grow-er issue?
@TrinSF and that’s great, however it doesn’t mean they can’t have options for people that don’t need that
In the 5+ years I’ve watched Meh deals, they’re always ugly styles that don’t appeal to me. Just voicing that.
Don’t take my fashion opinions personally, to each their own and to me that ain’t it
What’s the difference between “cool cotton” and “performance basics?”
Other than the material composition. I can read. I mean what is the point of the different compositions? Why choose one vs the other?
@uscpsycho See here for a comparison
@troy Thanks. Now can anyone tell me the difference between “4-way stretch” and “stretch & recovery?”
@troy @uscpsycho Depends, are you going to be giving birth?
@uscpsycho marketing
@troy @uscpsycho The cotton tends to get looser as you wear it. The polyester does not. Think of a t-shirt stretching out, vs. spandex, if that makes sense.
For those of you who have tried these, do the legs ride up? And what length do you have?
8-inch long briefs that ride all the way up would really suck.
I’ve never felt more “seen”

@dewaynelawson But how did you try them on and not open the box? Are you sure you’re wearing underwear right?
@dewaynelawson @sglewis If he didn’t take them out of the package that could explain the tight fit.
@macromeh @sglewis I actually bought two orders, so one entire order of 3 was (is) still in the box. The other order has 2 unopened boxes because the deal is 3 packs of 2.
/showme cats in boxers
Bonus! Cats in boxers in boxes.
@macromeh @mediocrebot yes, bonus! A natural law, if there is a cat and there is a box, eventually there will be a cat in a box.
My old guy:

You don’t need to lead them to it; they find it on their own.
@pmarin Yes, we also store our cats in boxes.

@macromeh @pmarin And if you have a big box just get a big kitten.
Maybe I should get some XXS for the male cats I know.
I looked for xxs for my son, but looks like Meh doesn’t actually have this size…
I’ve never been so excited to spend $130 on underwear. Thank you Meh. And Troy? I imagine you as handsome as you are wise.
@NadmanET
Twice I’ve submitted orders for these underwear and twice my order has been cancelled. ngl this was a bummer
I bought these last go-round, and have to say, the weenie wagger is really innovative. Really sets the weenie up for lots of wags! And it gives a new look to the bean bag as well, the ladies really like it.
It wasn’t until I bought these that I realized that the fly on underwear only works well if you’re right handed.
These are good underwear with great ambidextrous cock pockets.

How about some comfy boyshorts for the ladies? We are tired of lousy, cheaply made (but pricey) underwear

anyone know how similar the performance basics is to the 360 sport? love the 360, hate the cool cotton which rides up.
tommy john is one of the best undies brand out there so if you haven’t tried it, this is beyond a great deal since they’re north of $20 a pair
@hau The 360 Sport have the same material makeup as the Performance – 88% Polyester, 12% Spandex. I’d expect similar if not exactly the same… performance
@troy yeah they look identical. i hope it’s the same bc i love the 360. we’ll have to see!

My estimated delivery is 5 days ago, but they haven’t shipped yet. Any idea when these will ship?
I got a cancellation email today. My order for 3 6-packs has been cancelled.
@timmaselli You also got an email with an explanation an coupon code. If you don’t see that, please check your other folders.
My order was originally scheduled to deliver March 17-18 and finally processed and shipped on May 21. Fingers crossed I receive what I ordered
@nbkuhn Same
Heck’s yah!!! I feel happy…
Very thin and made very small, wish I would have known this before buying and I could have saved my money. My husband doesn’t like them at all.
Very slow shipping all I have to say took 25 days from the date of order
I got half my order 25-Mar.
I assume the other half is on the way.
@threadstone

Well, 2nd time I’ve ordered these underwear and 2nd time my order’s been cancelled. IDK if it’s worth trying with meh again.
Bought a size larger than I thought I would need. Still way too tight.
Only received half my order, no information on the second part
@johnnydold73 make sure to contact Support if you haven’t already so they can take a look.
Will this item ever ship?
My order was canceled and while I appreciate the coupon code, I would much rather have the underwear lol
