@chienfou I’ve seen you twice. But I’m stubborn and had amazing nurses that kept me in the game I coded twice on the table. Had more than one nurse tell me they never expected to see me again and now here I am at a healthy weight and strong. This is why nurses are my favorite people.
@capnjb
Thanks for your continued support of nursing. The vast majority of nurses are committed and caring people. Especially those you are around for an extended period of time. It’s easy to find commonalities and establish bonds that will last a long time. We become vested in outcomes and will do everything in our power to make them happen. I’m proud of my 10 years in the ER and can’t walk into a local store without at least one person walking up to me to either talk about their health problems currently or fill me in on outcomes for their family or themselves over the 30 years.

I’m headed into Montgomery this morning to check out cross channel amplification hearing aids at an ENT. Looking forward to my “surprise” when I get home.

Is six weeks an extended period of time? Even though I spent most of that time napping, I did have brief moments of consciousness that were mixed with crazy hallucinations… and those moments got mixed in with the crazy dream world I was living in.
When I went back nine months later for my ostomy reversal, when I woke up after surgery, I saw my pacu nurse and the first thing out of my mouth was, ‘You’re Amy’. I don’t know how I knew that, but she had watched over me for weeks and weeks in the ICU. I suppose my ears were still working as well as my brain
I’ᴅ ᴡᴇᴀʀ ᴛʜᴀᴛ.
I’ve been that…
@chienfou
I should see if I can get this approved as one of the uniform options for our local ER…
@chienfou Maybe for the person who has to come running with the crash cart when somebody codes?
@chienfou should be for the ME
