I always pack extra of both bc what happens if I get stuck where I at? I can get by wearing an outfit I wore before but underwear or socks I wore before.

I think that if you need something you can always shop where you are and get what you need. Never bring toiletries with me on trips; just visit the local shops or use whatever is available at the hotel. I do bring my toothbrush with me.
Packing for a trip next week. Have to pack for cold days, hot days, rainy days…. Debating if I need to include my big fluffy coat ( from an irk… thanks meh) in case there’s a blizzard
I over pack so much that I don’t end up wearing half the stuff I bring but I like to have options. One thing I’ve stopped bringing is 6 pairs of shoes with me. I’m down to 2, 3 tops depending where we go.

But, TBH, it’s not so much clothes as all the ancillary crap that goes with getting ready. Blow dryer, curling iron, flat iron, all the regular toiletries stuff, hair products, makeup, makeup remover etc etc… that leaves me responsible for electronics and first aid shit.
My minivan is an extension of my closet. Especially with seats out so I can sleep in it while traveling. PLeanty of space to travel with the proverbial kitchen sink. I used to pack for 2-3 weeks in a backpack trying to keep it 40-50 pounds (including a sleeping bag and sleeping pad) when I took people camping for a living. Now I am “camping” in luxury while on the road. The only thing better would be a small camper truck but I had to sell my Nissan Sunrader (bought it used at around 25 years old) to pay for cancer crap.

No. I brought 16 pair for a week up north and glad I did bc I ended up staying 16 days.
