@kjady@MrGoodGuy I hate Daylight Saving Time. I get up early and hate the wait wait wait for daylight (except in peak Summer day length); and then in Summer nights it’s been so light and hot and the damn Sun doesn’t go down. Yes I know it’s the same total number of hours of daylight either way but I just want the damned Sun to go away for a while!
@kjady@MrGoodGuy You Sir, are a strange, maybe deranged, individual. Sunlight & warmth is for us that live in a constant state of denial…I mean, we know it’s coming, but it doesn’t mean I’m wishing for it! We had our killing freeze this past Wednesday here in Fargo, North Dakota (actually about 3-weeks late relative to average! Yay Fall!) so now it’s clean up the flower & vegetable gardens this weekend…
I have all the goodie bags made, the toys and books gathered and the inflatables are up. All i have to do is set up the table for the trick or treaters.
@chienfou Same - in 27 years here in the boonies, we’ve had exactly one trick-or-treater. And that was a neighbor who stopped by with her daughter on the way to hit the houses in town.
I think I have enough full-size candy bars, but my first year in a home that actually got trick-or-treaters was a little traumatic for me because we didn’t have enough and I was all alone in managing treat distribution, and we live in a neighborhood that people drive their kids to for trick-or-treating. I have over 200 full-sized candy/chocolate items, but I’m still worried it’s not enough.
@jitc oh wow.
I made 45 treat bags, which should be enough, but have some leftover loose candy in case I run out of treat bags. A lot of leftover warheads after finishing making the bags.
This is the weekend we start actually putting up the outside decor! Been planning and gathering items for this year’s theme! Arrrgh, matey! Pirates….dead pirates!
I’m in the process of packing up and moving to a new apartment, so I’ve barely thought about Halloween. Using the giant mask from my radiation therapy for the tumor in my neck, I’m planning on making this addicted-soldier-of-the-future if I can find time before the 31st:
Sure.
I have my LED Halloween mask. What more do I need?
HELL NO!! Only because the 1st Sunday after it means it gets dark an hour EARLIER!!
BOOOOoooooo!!

@MrGoodGuy That’s why I love it and am pretty excited about it! Give me all the dark and cold.
@kjady @MrGoodGuy Me, too!!
@kjady Well, at least we get an extra hour of sleep; but it’s just that 1 night though! So, it’s a “PHOOEY” from me!
@MrGoodGuy I get that. The time change works better for my circadian rhythm. As a night owl, the pne hour shift is amazing.

@kjady @MrGoodGuy @pmarin
(glances out the window)
Looks like you get your wish this weekend.
(Assuming you’re still in the PNW)

I have more to print on my 3D Printer
Since I live kind of out in the country I don’t do any preparations so, yeah, I’m ready.

@macromeh did you have Candy?
@kittykat9180 Yep - we had 3 young kids at home then. (And we drove them into town to trick or treat, too.)
Ain’t trick or treating but I am taking my little sis out. NO costume for me, a mask would probably be an improvement.
I’m ready to get rid of past-its-prime Meh candy and bars.
“Go ahead, take a handful!”
What ever happened to our Candy Corn Drops Meh? We can’t properly celebrate Halloween without the waxy goodness that is Candy Corn afterall!!
All of our neighbors’ kids are grown and moved away. Now, we just stay inside and remember good ole days when we had candy to confiscate.
I got @puppycat’s costume finished, but we haven’t even brought up the spooky decorations from the basement.
She’s going as El-ahrairah from Watership Down, so all I had to do was add some sparkles to a brown bunny costume.
My niece, who always goes trick-or-treating with her, is going as Lord Frith.

The only prep I do is to turn off all the lights so nobody rings the doorbell.

I still need to decide where to go so I’m not home during trick-or-treat time.
I have four pumpkins that need carving. It’s still too warm around these parts to carve with still a week before Halloween.

Yeah, that’s Q under the outfit.
