@Lynnerizer and then there’s the allegedly Hawaiian pizza that was invented in Canada which includes pineapple and spam. Oddly enough, it appears that the Hawaiians tend to like it.
@werehatrack
Yes, our traditional Hawaiian pizza is Canadian bacon and pineapple. I always assumed it was from or invented in Hawaii. I have eaten Spam growing up but it’s not a favorite, WAY TOO salty for me these days!
A while back I bought one of those pizza ovens at Aldi that goes inside your gas grill. Used it to make pizza a couple of nights ago. The one in the picture is half Buratta with (garden fresh) tomatoes and freshly picked basil. The other half was a balsamic and (home grown) fig compote with sliced fresh pears (from the garden) topped with feta and blue cheese crumbles.
@chienfou
Oh yeah that looks delicious!
I’m feeling just a little vanilla right about now.Lol I’ve never had a pizza with balsamic, feta, pears or figs, not together or alone. Individually I LOVE each one of them so I’m betting I’d like it! Fresh tomatoes are the BEST on a pizza!
I’ve been wanting a pizza oven forever, probably a toaster oven combo since we don’t have much storage space. My guy likes his counter tops almost barren! Lol It’s really time for a kitchen remodel.
@chienfou@pakopako
Condo living, HOA doesn’t allow that. I suppose we could do the grill type out on the deck… I’m not familiar with that kind but they’re probably worth looking into.
@Lynnerizer@pakopako
these things are GREAT. Preheat in grill with lid closed for about 30 minutes & gets it to about 650⁰ and cooks a pizza in about 5 minutes. I use my sourdough to make the crust.
I love a good Hawaiian pizza and more recently I learned of the California pizza which is pineapple and bacon!

YUM!

Spam is usually popular in Hawaii. In fact it used to be (still is?) on the breakfast menu at McDonald’s.
@chienfou @werehatrack
WOW, really…?

I never would have guessed that!
Good for Spam, making it to Mickey D’s is big time!

@chienfou @Lynnerizer Or a backyard pizza oven.

That does sound easy, and it’s so tiny. Well, just enough room for the pizza!
Pineapple is really good on pizza when it’s friend jalapeno is there also.
@yakkoTDI
They’re also wonderful when grilled on a barbecue!
@chienfou @yakkoTDI mmm… pickled pineapple peppers
