@yakkoTDI lol, I’ve been around long enough to see some pretty meh things but this is just impressively underwhelming. Even the people in the video appear to be pretending to be impressed (I mean I get it, they’re actors). It’s impractical, niche, AND the effect is mediocre. It’s the holy meh trinity.
@troy now this I can get behind, you have any more floating around in the dark reaches of the warehouse? I need my wife to question my adult credentials even more
@PooltoyWolf@sproinky@yakkoTDI My brother-in-law (old hippie maybe, did art and parties) ordered something like this for maybe a little bit more $. Yeah it was pretty cool actually. You could use an app for control and sync it to music (sorry didn’t do my homework so not sure what this one does)
Also I think my adult credentials were lost in the mail.
To whomever wrote that - where the heck do you eat dinner that a salad costs $20? Meh must be paying you too much that a $20 salad is considered cheap!
@Kidsandliz My wife frequently orders a salad when we dine out. Almost always the salad exceeds $20. Recent salad orders: Beet salad with Salmon filet $22 Steak salad with slices of filet $23
I used to flinch when looking at menus, I’ve become numb now.
@Kidsandliz That’s pretty much it. The old, “I had a salad for dinner, watching my waistline” Kind of like ordering the Taco Salad… trying to eat light and healthy
NGL, I was disappointed when the write up didn’t mention Steamed Hams.
You ask what do I mean?
I mean this.
(This is not a RickRoll)
After watching this, do a YouTube search for 'Steamed Hams except" and enjoy the creativity and diversity of the internet.
This one could have been “Steamed hams except the Aurora was created by” whatever the name of this device was . I have to admit I already forgot it and I am not going back to look what it is…
@finalremix I would recommend 2 because you project from 2 sides and it enhances the effect. Probably not good for cubicle-dwellers. I did have a tiny private office at one point in my life, but not the kind of place you’d invite co-workers for “raves” or whatever it was called then. Others couldn’t get through gate security. So no partying there….
Would be good for my old home WFH office. But from my experience 2 of these will give you a much better experience than 1. But I don’t do that anymore.
I have one of the other Bliss lights devices (likely sold here or the other deal(s)-a-day site) and while I rarely use it, it does throw a decent nebula-ish/star-ish light show on the ceiling when I just want to zone out for a bit.
I think I had to sideload the (now unsupported?) app to my phone, so who knows how long that will fly. Also, when the power goes out (fortunately, rarely) and is restored, the device turns on (that is, it starts the display) and – as best I can tell – no amount of button pressing on the device will turn it off; I have to go to the app and turn it off. So that will be fun when the app eventually stops working.
I think I got a cheapie alternative for my young niece and my brother says she likes it. So, two (1.5?) data points in-favor.
@andymand If your projector is a SkyLite 2.0, there is a fade to off effect when you press the power button enough times, cycling through all the effects. Like 6 or 7 presses I think? Once you get to the last mode, pressing the button again will make the lights slowly fade to off. (Or you can just unplug it, if convenient, heh.)
I got a different (bulkier) version of this a while ago and I gotta say it’s pretty nice. The colors are actually pretty good. I have it in the kid’s room, and the kid likes it. What’s really nice is that it works well with a smart outlet so I can turn it on and off remotely.
Superfluous tech device advisory. I got a similar item a couple years ago. Was pretty cool and as advertised the few times I used it, but I never think to turn it on or are in a situation where it makes much sense and now it just sits there gathering dust
This was definitely just a stupid impulse purchase but I like it, it’s quite vibe-y! And I don’t have to deal with a stupid app or anything, which I very much appreciate.
I combined this projector with my other BlissLights projector I got from Meh, the SkyLite 2.0, and the result is quite stunning. SkyLite 2.0 on left, Ark on right. My inflat-a-bull is peeking in from the right, too…oh, and that’s Mactoy at far left!

Talk about projection!
Possibly the most meh thing I’ve ever seen…congrats!
@sproinky Really? You haven’t seen much.
@sproinky I present to you:
@sproinky @troy Good Lord, I remember this thing. It was kind of a killer thing to own if you were a fan of Invader ZIM.

@sproinky @yakkoTDI These things are actually really dope. The light effects are impressive. (I’ve got a few products from BlissLights)

I had a pink pig speaker I think from W.
Jackson Pollock’s version of digital cobwebs?
Looks like it projects spiderwebs. I have enough of those already.
@heartny This will help to mask your cobwebs.
have one.
this, in a fog bank, is sublime.
Better than anything “AI” can project.
@DrunkCat Since AI is not a projector that doesn’t mean much. Sort of like your efforts to win them back.
@yakkoTDI Please resubmit your comment in the form of a showme prompt.
If only it allowed other colours~
To whomever wrote that - where the heck do you eat dinner that a salad costs $20? Meh must be paying you too much that a $20 salad is considered cheap!
@Kidsandliz we never said it was cheap!
@troy OK. I’ll change that to: that a $20 salad is worth it.
@troy I did come here to say wow, shots fired at the cost of a salad these days.
@Kidsandliz My wife frequently orders a salad when we dine out. Almost always the salad exceeds $20. Recent salad orders: Beet salad with Salmon filet $22 Steak salad with slices of filet $23
I used to flinch when looking at menus, I’ve become numb now.
@accelerator So essentially she is ordering a dinner where it is all tossed on one plate or in one bowl, mixed together and the vegetable is lettuce.
@djslack @troy The bullets I am firing are made of meat and the rest of the dinner at that price.
@Kidsandliz That’s pretty much it. The old, “I had a salad for dinner, watching my waistline” Kind of like ordering the Taco Salad… trying to eat light and healthy

Kinda want one for my office…

Not familiar; is Aurora better than Denver?

@PooltoyWolf Thank you for the help! I will try to remember that suggestion the next time the power goes out (and comes back on)!
@andymand No worries, happy to help out!

@rickjennings64 Same. Our teenage daughter loves it. Thinking about grabbing one or two more here to use as gifts for the nieces & nephews.

@dpease Like every other Meh purchase I’ve made, except those still in the boxes.
@craigthom @dpease There’s dust on my IRK electric scooter. I should do something about that.
