Cerridwyn, what have you done?
9Okay @cerridwyn you not only broke rule #7, you literally obliterated it!
I’m going to have to rethink the verbiage on that rule! ![]()
My dog started barking which normally means a delivery, it was one and my wife grabbed the package from the stoop. And she says, I think it’s from one of your Meh friends. I looked at the name on the return address and was a little confused because I didn’t recognize it. I won’t spill the tea, but now I know your name Cerridwyn ![]()
I carefully opened the box and right on top was a lovely letter. I wish I had handwriting like all you fancy people
Under that was a bunch of packing material that was hiding four incredible boxes of wonder! There were two boxes of two walled insulated espresso cups (everything in the box was two walled to I’m going to stop saying that now
) Tomorrow morning I’m going to use the moka pot that @italianscallion sent me and make a few espresso shots to give them a test run. There was also a beautiful coffee carafe, so I think next I’m going to do I pour over and transfer the coffee to the amazing carafe.
There are also two interesting coffee mugs. They are the same shape externally, but they are the inverse of one another. One has a wide mouth and a shallow cup, the other is basically an upside-down version with a narrow mouth and a tapering cup.
SJ, you did WAY too much! And now I must rearrange my cabinets to make room for these beautiful pieces. I love them and I’ve never seen their equal. Thank you. Can’t wait to use them in the morning.
You guys need to knock it off
Thanks, Cerridwyn. You made me smile.
You did too much. But it is very appreciated. Thank you.

I used to spend a lot of time wandering through coffee things on kickstarter. And putting the whole thing in to do it for once it intrigued me and this was one of those. I’ve had all of those for years. Looking for the right person to get them to. I actually totally forgotten about them and when I came across them I thought I know where that needs to go. And so it has enjoy playing with the two mugs that are structured differently because I really curious how accurate it is that the coffee will taste different in them. Whiskey does.
@Cerridwyn You are awesome. Thank you so much. But next time I send you coffeem rule #7 in mandatory
And I mean it!
PANS! GLANDS! CRAYONS! AWESOME!
@Cerridwyn Anybody want a peanut?
@Cerridwyn
.
Wow those are beautiful glasses/mugs. I love kickstarter. I can spend hours in there looking through things people are making. I had and all leather belt made but I measured wrong and the person never responded to help or fix my mistake. So I spent a bunch of money on something that’s too small
@Cerridwyn @Star2236
Yeah, this one time I threw some money at something called ‘Casemates’
See your friends luv U lots!!
Okay… so another Meh threesome (collab) this morning!

I roasted the beans, @italianscallion sent me the brewing equipment and @cerridwyn sent the wonderful vessels I could pour the espresso into. It was wonderful!
I will say it was a little weird to pour piping hot liquid into a glass and feeling no residual heat when I held the glass. It was a very neat and unique experience. I love these glasses so much. They are the new go-to’s. I can’t wait to try the coffee mugs… err… glasses. They look so interesting
Thank you both again and for being part of this complete breakfast

@italianscallion @cerridwyn @capnjb
Very nice gift!
I’ve NEVER heard, and find it very interesting, that the different shape or type of drinking vessels could/would CHANGE the taste of your coffee.

Looks like I’VE got some taste testing and comparing to do…
Capnjb, did you notice any difference in the taste between the different shape cups?
And I think I might still call them mugs. Jus sayen…
@Cerridwyn @ItalianScallion @Lynnerizer It’s all in the nose. The wide mouth really opens up the aroma, and Cerridwyn was correct, smell really has a major impact on what you perceive as flavor. To be honest, I was really just enjoying the fun of the new glass and the smell and the espresso. It was great and I really wasn’t comparing it to anything. I was just excited to enjoy it
Next time I’ll do a side by side with the little two ounce ceramic espresso mugs I have and give you a follow up
And I can see how these could make wonderful whiskey glasses
The design is fantastic and they are all hand-blown glass. Love them! Thanks again SJ
(sorry… that’s easier to type than Cerridwyn…) heh.
edit - even though I just did that
@capnjb @ItalianScallion @Lynnerizer if you drink whiskey at all, especially scotch, the difference in the shape of the glass is amazing. I didn’t believe it until I experienced my it myself. Several years ago I bought a orange infused whiskey. Apparently it was a big thing back in the Victorian era. Or I should say Victorian infused scotch. I really can’t remember which of the big Scottish distilleries made it. But if you drink it out of a classic whiskey glass. It just tasted like kind of me. You put it in a scotch glass, in my case they were the black Norland glasses which I adore. And the orange hits you so strong you don’t even hardly smell the alcohol you smell the orange so that when you sip it you get a mouthful of this incredible thing that’s very different than anything you drink before. So why wouldn’t it work with any beverage that relies as much on smell as it does on what goes into your mouth. That was the whole hint of what they were trying to do when they made these. Goodness gracious it was so many years ago
@Cerridwyn @ItalianScallion @Lynnerizer Well, they are fantastic. And I’m not going to stop saying thank you
So, thank you
@capnjb @ItalianScallion @Lynnerizer
and now you know why I was giggling, or was it cackling?
@Cerridwyn @ItalianScallion @Lynnerizer Celtic bad-assery and all that
@capnjb @Cerridwyn @ItalianScallion
Thanks for sharing your experience, It does make sense how we taste with our nose first!

I’ll be looking forward to hearing about your actual taste test!
@capnjb
They really are beautiful, like really beautiful. I love cool collect able glassware, especially if it has a purpose.
The amount of gifts you have received lately is insane. I’m really glad you’ve enjoyed everything you’ve gotten, you definitely make up for it with everything you send out and deserve everything you get.
@capnjb @Cerridwyn @ItalianScallion @Lynnerizer
Please do let us know on a follow up and taste test, I’m really curious.
@Star2236 I like to share. If my family has everything they need, I will share everything else I have. It’s just how I was raised.
Receiving things makes me feel a little awkward. I’m not good at it. Best way I can describe it is it’s like if I was the only guy at prom without a date and the pretty girl asks me to dance
I’m happy about it, but it makes me a little uncomfortable

I’ve always worked for things I’ve wanted. Getting things given to me is new and weird. Awkward, but appreciated. I build my wealth from seeing strangers smile. That’s what makes me happy. And I am happy.
Thank you to everyone who has been so unnecessarily generous. BUT KNOCK IT OFF!!!
@capnjb @Star2236 no they need to keep it up. But I hear you I’d like that too.
@Cerridwyn @ItalianScallion @Lynnerizer
Somehow, I found out about 10 years into my marriage that my wife is a fan of really good whiskey. Mostly Irish (she’s Irish) and Scotch. She likes the really peaty stuff from Islay. We have lots of whiskey up in here
I actually have blocks of peat that I burn from time to time so my wife can wake up and the smell reminds her of when she lived in the UK. I get a lot of points for that
@capnjb @ItalianScallion @Lynnerizer
There is a song I have somewhere, I can’t remember the name and I can’t find it, about an Irishman and a Scotchman extolling the virtues of their respective drinks. The sweet Irish water and the Peaty scotch. Long story short they drink himself to death and are both gone when the song ends. But I can’t find it cuz it is really funny up until the end.
They are pretty but I have a feeling I would drop it. I really cling to the handle of my morning cup of tea.
