@brennyn@Cerridwyn@sillyheathen I have only worked on a two masted “tall ships”: several schooners, one brigantine, one full rigged ship and one sailing (with a motor too) smaller tugboat (I used to have a 100 ton Master Near Costal USCG license, with 200 ton mate, tug boat and sail endorsements; I let my licenses expire when I switched careers). I have also owned a kayak, canoe and 14 foot sail boat. Oh and I forgot the row boat at my grandmother’s farm (a nice pond there). I guess that down’t count as me owning it through.
@Kyeh@sillyheathen
When my kids asked a question like that My answer was always to repeat “it” multiple times… very fast. Because after all you’re asking how fast can I say “it”, right…
@Kyeh THe ones around here are permanently moored and used as casinos. Not sure if they had to have motors installed to qualify for ‘riverboat’ gambling exemptions.
We used to own a pedal boat, lots of fun memories on it. Would go fishing on it, take it across the lake to the sandbar and go swimming. As I got older we used to take it out late at night when we were dinking and then would get to drunk and tired to paddle back.
They have paddle boats at a recreational park with lake near where I work. A couple of small boats with trolling motors also. I haven’t been in once since I was a teenager and we visited Lake Havasu. It was fun but it was also work.
I guess a human is more like the engine for moving such a boat than a motor.
A fishing float tube (U-shaped) and swim fins. It’s so relaxing to drift or guide yourself around a pond or a slow-moving river. Fly fishing optional, but recommended.
The boat at a good sushi joint.
@yakkoTDI Ooo, good one.
A schooner
@Cerridwyn
/showme a schooner full of beer
@Cerridwyn @phendrick I could use a beer. The schooner the better.
@Cerridwyn
@brennyn @Cerridwyn you dumb bastard! It’s not a schooner, it’s a sailboat!!!

@Pavlov @werehatrack well thats disgusting.
Can’t believe sail boat isn’t on the list.
@NickFerg Came here to say exactly this.
@Evolucion7 @NickFerg Yes I know!
Sundae boat.
@ircon96 There used to be a food truck that came by the office that served their BBQ in a Sundae Boat.
Scoop of potato salad, scoop of mac n cheese and a scoop of collard greens covered in pulled pork and BBQ sauce. Delicious.
@ircon96 @yakkoTDI That’s an idea for lunch tomorrow!
@phendrick @yakkoTDI That sounds amazing!
You’re making me hungry…
Sailing
Takes me away to where I’ve always heard it could be
Just a dream and the wind to carry me
Soon I will be free
Dragon

@llangley
@llangley Oh I forgot about those. As a kid at a sleep away camp they had one that we’d row.
/showme a showboat
@duodec I like it, but isn’t it motorized, really?
@Kyeh THe ones around here are permanently moored and used as casinos. Not sure if they had to have motors installed to qualify for ‘riverboat’ gambling exemptions.
@duodec Oh, I see!
@duodec @Kyeh
old ones had steam, so still were motorized technically

@chienfou I’m sure we could swamp some seriously funny ones!

@sillyheathen
ISWYDT
@chienfou it would’ve been rude not to.
I’m finishing up some customizations on my Jonboat, so I guess I better pick it as my favorite.
Once I get my '50s Bellboy Runabout back in the water, the Jonboat is gonna find itself in second place.
Sailboat.
Shark Sailboat
@zephod00
Shark or snark?
I was excited to try a pedal boat many years ago. It wasn’t as fun as I thought.
So my vote goes to the toy boat I take a bath with.

Tall ship. This is a replica of the Kalmar Nyckel, docked in Greenport, NY.
@heartny
Son recently toured the Cutty Sark in London and said it was really cool.
@heartny
he also said it looks just like the graphic on the Scotch bottles…

@ItalianScallion With a fish measuring ruler included, how convenient.
@ItalianScallion @Kyeh
And given the placement that’s not all you could measure with it!!
@chienfou

@chienfou @ItalianScallion
Gotta keep things honest!
@chienfou @Kyeh “Damn Jesus” or “Damn, Jesus”? Punctuation matters*.
*“Let’s eat, Grandma!” vs. “Let’s eat Grandma!”
