Have you ever been hypnotized?
4I’m getting hypnotized on Thursday to quit smoking and I’m wondering if anybody has any experience with it, smoking or other? I’ve quit smoking a few times before but it’s always been cold turkey and I hate the withdrawal and getting over the cravings of it for the first week. I heard hypnotherapy is supposed to take all of that away. Just wondering how it went for people?

Never had it done myself, but have seen it used in my ER by one of our nurse practitioners a time or two. It seemed to be pretty effective for keeping the patient calm during a minor procedure. I have no doubt that it can be helpful, particularly if you BELIEVE it will be helpful.

Good luck on your quest to be tobacco free. That’s an important lifestyle change that will have long-term ramifications on your health.

When I was young, I worked for awhile at the fancy hotel dining room as a busboy.
They had a regular show Friday and Saturday night featuring a hypnotist. I watched him, week after week do his routine. It made me a believer because nobody could put that so many “shills” in the audience!
I’m excited for you! Nicotine is one big bad bitch to break.

I have not been hypnotized although some of the ladies have kept me mesmerized.
I hope it works for stopping your smoking but if not you can always join Quitters, Inc.
