hello from Norway!
22from what I understand, this is the standard Norwegian greeting.
and now, a pic of me facing my fear of heights.
this is trolltunga. didn’t think I would actually walk out on the outcropping, but here I am. standing there, freaking the fuck out.
I’d add more pics, but doing it on my phone is a pain in the ass. so anyway, hello from Norway!

Fuckin’ cool!
Beautiful - and fucking scary!
If you see my cousin tell him hi. My paternal grandparents were born in Norway I have family over there.
@Cerridwyn is his name Lars and does he work in Voss at a bar called Skrot? if so, that man makes fan-fucking-tastic cocktails!
@carl669
/showme big wicked grin
I dunno, LOL. The cousin that I knew would be about 80ish now, so that could be a grandson and i wouldn’t know it.
I really want to go there. Not to top of that rock though!
I always liked the idea of renting a camping vehicle and exploring. Not in peak tourist season though. Late season would be good. A bit of cold is fine with me. That was in my younger adventure days… you have submitted your adventure credentials with those photos; I would say you are approved.
Or maybe take it easy and stay in nice Inns. But “off the beaten path” always appeals to me.
Any tips?
@pmarin Iceland?
@pakopako @pmarin Doesn’t Iceland have polar bears?
@pmarin @sammydog01 Doesn’t Norway?
(Technically Iceland doesn’t, but they’re close enough to Greenland that you might see some from Iceland.)
@pakopako @pmarin I dunno but all the stuff I watch set in Iceland has everyone toting a rifle to run errands.
@pmarin @sammydog01 sounds like America
@pakopako @pmarin @sammydog01 While it is true that polar bears are the only animal that views humans as prey, generally they don’t attack when you are hanging out in a tight group. I have only seen one once in person (NW Ontario very near James Bay; was an instructor for Outward Bound). One paralleled us while we were on the Albany River. We were rafted up and canoeing (so 14 people and 7 canoes and the polar bear was looking at us walking along the shore as we paddled. The only weapons we had were canoe paddles and I doubt that would have done much good. I’ve had alligators bite off the end off of those and polar bears would probably view them as mosquitoes. I had never seen one in the wild before but the other instructor reassured me (and the kids) that the odds were extremely high we were safe rafted up like we were. And the bear did eventually turn and walk away from the shore. In retrospect it was one of the most awesome, incredible wildlife experience I have ever had.
POPSOCKETS! SPROCKETS! DAVY CROCKETT! AWESOME!
@pakopako @pmarin @sammydog01
Norway does have polar bears up in the northern areas. apparently you’re required to carry a gun in certain areas just in case.
@carl669 @pakopako @pmarin @sammydog01 That would make sense considering where they hang out around the rest of the world. Good thing they don’t have them in Antartica though. That would make it really tough on the people who live there.
When I was in Fort Albany (where the Albany River empties in to the James Bay) I had asked a resident about polar bears and was told they had an occasional bear seen but that was pretty rare, presumable because of the city. Of course this may have changed all these years later with global warming and less ice shelf for them to hang out on.
@carl669 @pakopako @pmarin Maybe I was watching shows about northern Norway. I’m not good with geography.
Heyup ya fucking filthy orange coat goat scalliwag!!! You’re onna boat n’everythin! Fucking good to see your facepiece mate!
@carl669 fucking fantastic. Hope you have an amazing time.
So any photos of you with the rest of your family on that incredible, fucking vacation?
@Kidsandliz I have like 600 pics to sift thru when I get home. I’ll post one later
@carl669 @Kidsandliz

@carl669 Thanks. It is always interesting to see your family. Your wedding photo with the lightsabers (whether or not you photoshopped them in) was great!
Absolutely stunning pic. Did another family member take it for you or was it from a drone?
Glad you’re enjoying your stay in Norway. Travel is always a mind opening experience. Have a great fucking time!
(How’s the progeny enjoying the trip?)
Fuck you for going and leaving the rest of us behind.
How motherfucking dare you???!!!
Meh needs a fucking @carl669 centered travel and tour service.
In the shit-fucking meantime, does northern Scandinavia have grizzlies?
