I decided to do something special for my Community. Donating a unit of needed platelets at the local blood bank… Bonus soft drink and Nutter Butters as well as a sweatshirt. Whoohoo!!

Good for you! I generally donate when I have a couple of extra hours to spend when I make a trip to the “big city”. I used to donate whole blood more regularly when the bloodmobile would show up at the hospital I worked at. But I still give several times a year, and have now switched to platelets instead of whole blood since I have the time. I think this was donation number 74 76 for me with LifeSouth. Doesn’t include all the Red Cross donations I did before I moved to this area. I know l’m well over 10 gallons.
