@Kyeh All of mine are the lavender scent, which I would rate very highly. It smells authentic (not artificial) and it’s neither overpowering nor underwhelming.
Scrolled through all of SideDeal. Didn’t see anything interesting, or enticing enough for an impulse purchase. There’s a small handful of decent items overall, but they’re mostly higher-end appliances. And the selection is much smaller than in prior years. A couple of products that I bought before also seem to be priced up (e.g. Vornado fan). And that seems to be a theme; a lot of the stuff being sold is much more expensive than before, despite being mostly the same Chinese off-brand junk just like before.
Disappointing. Meh was winning until 2022-ish. Now their competitors do it better.
Last year’s anniversary celebration was fun. Hopefully this year will have something similar to drive up some hype.
@ShotgunX Nothing has changed – we’ll always adjust pricing up or down depending on our remaining inventory level and especially seasonality. I think you may be referring to the Vornado Fly 01 which we sold for $39.99 on Meh late August 2024 and a very brief blip at $29.99 in the thick of winter. But we also had 2000+ units then and now have just 100 at the start of summer. Lower quantity + on-point seasonality = potentially higher price.
@troy Nah, the bar fan, which has been $10-12 before. I know that there are “deals” on SideDeal that have lower than usual prices, but the point is that the items repeat/are sold for such long durations that it’s hard to justify getting something for $15 when you know it drops down to $10 periodically (just as an example). I understand your strategy, and I know it will work on casual shoppers, but someone tech-savvy/math-oriented like me is going to notice the trends quickly.
Anyway, if you want a bit more hype, try doing more of these:
More brand-name stuff, especially tech stuff
Weird import foods (Buldak/Japanese candy hype)
Alcohol deals/coupon crossovers
More branded Meh items (and don’t overprice them)
Also interact more with the community like in the good old days.

I just wouldn’t have expected that from a ‘one item a day’ kind of company, NOT ON SOLD BEFORE ITEMS ANYWAY!

That way, the items do not need to be physically removed from the warehouse for $$$, nor will that seller be hit with $$$ for aged inventory storage fees.
Exceptions are third-party fulfilled items and the occasional direct-from-Woot’s warehouse items such as open-box and some scratch-and-dent stuff.
@Drez143 And what do you think Meh is doing? The vast majority of items sold on these sites is also available on Amazon. At least Woot has a store inventory with roughly 10x the items, which also rotate more often. Woot also has better deals these days. Like for example, two days ago there was a kitchen sale where I got a bunch of useful things like an ice cream maker, temperature gun, and crepe pans for $5-6 each (there were many other good choices too). When was the last time we saw such a good deal here? Also you can get a BoC there consistently every month for $10 without playing any refund games, and the contents are better these days.
I’m still a Meh supporter. I still shop here. But the offers, the events, and the hype have all died down over the past few years. Maybe business has gone down recently, I don’t know. But this is a business, and I shouldn’t have to donate money to keep it propped up. They need to find a way to bring back the excitement. When they had $5 Fukos and IRKs, I was much more willing to drop some money on an impulse purchase to show my appreciation and support.

Look, all I’m asking Meh is to sell us some more quirky ramen, make more fun Meh-branded merch, have an occasional juicy deal like they did in the past (e.g. branded power banks for cheap), and have the staff engage and play games with us more often. If this type of feedback is somehow “unfair,” then okay, let’s stop giving it and let this site disappear into obscurity.

@fjp999 yeah, that happened to me with those pull string choppers. It says I ordered twice because the website glitched. Didn’t notice until later that day when I saw the email. Emailed support, but they told me it couldn’t be cancelled because the order had already gone through. Now I have four of those stupid things.

When I left to do something more productive, I had the Meh page and 2 Side Deal pages open because they were continually recycling.
Then when I came back, I found that the Meh page indicated that something went wrong, was prompting me to re-order it, but instead I checked my account/orders list and found it had already been ordered, so I just nixed the ‘reorder’ page and came here to kvetch [advise others] about it.
The Side Deal pages showed the order[s] as successfully placed- but I found that the damn Captchas needed to sign in there were more than the usual frustrating and annoying.
Why doesn’t Side Deal have a shopping cart/bag/basket so that you can combine things into one bigger order vs. multiple smaller transactions?
It’s not a huge issue for me, but it is a bit of a pain to have the multiple separate tracking numbers, delivery dates, etc. ,to organize and follow.
Plus, then you could offer shipping or other discounts for orders over a given total.

@dahobbs9 The bag they come in is usually the best part, actually. Sturdy, large, and they change the color. Honestly at $10, that’s what you’re buying, and the rest is just random crap they tossed in.
It’s long lasting, but it’s still just paper. I have had produce ruin a few of mine the last few months. Holes get poked by corn and squash and watermelon just shreds the handles.
I Never was able to get the original IRK. I finally got one and if I had a HUGE Kitchen I would be able to use the air fryer, but I don’t so it sits in a box. The next IRK I got was total crap. so no more for me. TYVM

For those who haven’t gotten an IRK before, my favorite way to use them is save up one or two, wait for a small party like a board game night, and open them as a group. Folks can call dibs on stuff and it’s more fun to laugh at the crap no one wants.

I’ve gotten some winners and I’ve gotten a lot of duds! Winners included Bose headphones, shoulder massager, Happi brand HUGE air purifier that I’m loving, robot vacuum, a long warm cozy winter coat and a set of new luggage! More often than I care to remember I’ve got IRK’s that contain nothing I found useful so I’ve actually passed these last few times. It used to be about the thrill of the hunt and at only $10 ($5 before that) it wasn’t a big deal. Now, with the price ever changing it’s easier to pass up without much thought of missing out. Scrolled through all of SideDeal. Didn’t see anything interesting, or enticing enough for an impulse purchase. There’s a small handful of decent items overall, but they’re mostly higher-end appliances. And the selection is much smaller than in prior years. A couple of products that I bought before also seem to be priced up (e.g. Vornado fan). And that seems to be a theme; a lot of the stuff being sold is much more expensive than before, despite being mostly the same Chinese off-brand junk just like before.
Disappointing. Meh was winning until 2022-ish. Now their competitors do it better.
Last year’s anniversary celebration was fun. Hopefully this year will have something similar to drive up some hype.
@ShotgunX Nothing has changed – we’ll always adjust pricing up or down depending on our remaining inventory level and especially seasonality. I think you may be referring to the Vornado Fly 01 which we sold for $39.99 on Meh late August 2024 and a very brief blip at $29.99 in the thick of winter. But we also had 2000+ units then and now have just 100 at the start of summer. Lower quantity + on-point seasonality = potentially higher price.

@troy Nah, the bar fan, which has been $10-12 before. I know that there are “deals” on SideDeal that have lower than usual prices, but the point is that the items repeat/are sold for such long durations that it’s hard to justify getting something for $15 when you know it drops down to $10 periodically (just as an example). I understand your strategy, and I know it will work on casual shoppers, but someone tech-savvy/math-oriented like me is going to notice the trends quickly.

I understand the whole thing about pricing according to the season and inventory but I will say that I’m REALLY SURPRISED that Meh is doing it with your/their returning (seen/sold before) inventory. @Drez143 @DVDBZN @ShotgunX @troy From what I can tell, inventory gets transferred to Woot as the seller, but Amazon remains as the fulfillment role. That way, the items do not need to be physically removed from the warehouse for $$$, nor will that seller be hit with $$$ for aged inventory storage fees.
Exceptions are third-party fulfilled items and the occasional direct-from-Woot’s warehouse items such as open-box and some scratch-and-dent stuff.
@Drez143 And what do you think Meh is doing? The vast majority of items sold on these sites is also available on Amazon. At least Woot has a store inventory with roughly 10x the items, which also rotate more often. Woot also has better deals these days. Like for example, two days ago there was a kitchen sale where I got a bunch of useful things like an ice cream maker, temperature gun, and crepe pans for $5-6 each (there were many other good choices too). When was the last time we saw such a good deal here? Also you can get a BoC there consistently every month for $10 without playing any refund games, and the contents are better these days.
I’m still a Meh supporter. I still shop here. But the offers, the events, and the hype have all died down over the past few years. Maybe business has gone down recently, I don’t know. But this is a business, and I shouldn’t have to donate money to keep it propped up. They need to find a way to bring back the excitement. When they had $5 Fukos and IRKs, I was much more willing to drop some money on an impulse purchase to show my appreciation and support.

I just think it’s weird to be comparing meh.com, a true one item a day site, to a $2.25 trillion dollar company and an extension website which has about 100 items for sale on any given day.
@Drez143 One might be bigger than the other, but the way they do business is similar. The events, the mystery boxes, the community engagement are all similar to one another.
Look, all I’m asking Meh is to sell us some more quirky ramen, make more fun Meh-branded merch, have an occasional juicy deal like they did in the past (e.g. branded power banks for cheap), and have the staff engage and play games with us more often. If this type of feedback is somehow “unfair,” then okay, let’s stop giving it and let this site disappear into obscurity.

@ShotgunX I was looking at the $100 COBRA power station, but that would only reduce the “price” to $70, so I passed. Instead I asked my wife if she wanted anything and she found some stuff, so it’s a “win” for me.

When ordering the IRK the purchase bar was constantly reloading. It seems that I purchased 2 IRKs due to this tech issue. I cancelled the first one: depraved-bossy-pickle and hoping: owlish-versed-hamburger doesnt get cancelled also.

@fjp999 yeah, that happened to me with those pull string choppers. It says I ordered twice because the website glitched. Didn’t notice until later that day when I saw the email. Emailed support, but they told me it couldn’t be cancelled because the order had already gone through. Now I have four of those stupid things.

When I left to do something more productive, I had the Meh page and 2 Side Deal pages open because they were continually recycling.
Then when I came back, I found that the Meh page indicated that something went wrong, was prompting me to re-order it, but instead I checked my account/orders list and found it had already been ordered, so I just nixed the ‘reorder’ page and came here to kvetch [advise others] about it.
The Side Deal pages showed the order[s] as successfully placed- but I found that the damn Captchas needed to sign in there were more than the usual frustrating and annoying.
Why doesn’t Side Deal have a shopping cart/bag/basket so that you can combine things into one bigger order vs. multiple smaller transactions?
It’s not a huge issue for me, but it is a bit of a pain to have the multiple separate tracking numbers, delivery dates, etc. ,to organize and follow.
Plus, then you could offer shipping or other discounts for orders over a given total.

I don’t quite understand; will the stuff on side deal be swapped out over the weekend? Are the IRKS gonna sell out so we need to get one now and hope SD has stuff we want?
For those who haven’t gotten an IRK before, my favorite way to use them is save up one or two, wait for a small party like a board game night, and open them as a group. Folks can call dibs on stuff and it’s more fun to laugh at the crap no one wants.

Has anyone honestly ever purchased one of these and been satisfied? Just bought my first, and it was atrocious. The only mediocre item was a completely destroyed humidifier (I have kids and use these often). The rest was absolute junk. Who needs SIX neoprene mini Fanny packs, or 12 bags of 2yr outdated vegan gummy bears? Would love to hear if someone has a positive experience.
@jwhitman2202 yes people have been sometimes people have gotten luggage, I got a full Ninja blender set once, I’ve seen people get dishes, oh I got an air fryer too one of the big ones and I had to give it away because I have no place for one that big. So yeah people do. And there is a reveal thread to use I’m not good at linking on a device
@jwhitman2202 oh yes. I have received a brand new cuisnart food pro, massagers, heaps filter, steam mops and all sorts. But I’ve also received boxes of broken stuff. The price point used to be $5 but then went to $10 and somewhere in the last year or so, they introduced all kinds of zany options of various payment amounts. But it’s truly in the name. Instant Regret. If you’re not down for that, don’t buy.
If you’re expecting anything other than disappointment, you’re going to wind up an angerball.

I’ve gotten some winners and I’ve gotten a lot of duds! Winners included Bose headphones, shoulder massager, Happi brand HUGE air purifier that I’m loving, robot vacuum, a long warm cozy winter coat and a set of new luggage! More often than I care to remember I’ve got IRK’s that contain nothing I found useful so I’ve actually passed these last few times. It used to be about the thrill of the hunt and at only $10 ($5 before that) it wasn’t a big deal. Now, with the price ever changing it’s easier to pass up without much thought of missing out. Sometimes the bag is the best part, and I DO LOVE THOSE BAGS!
My motto has always been don’t EXPECT anything, expectations lead to resentments!
I got some knee compression sleeves… for all 4 of my knees. A hair dryer (I’m bald), some expired gummies like everyone else, a keyless entry door knob, and a bag.
I got mine, got the gummy bears, a pillow, I think it’s some kind of women’s wallet, a sparkly bracelet, some personal lubricant (two small packs) and a rubber band for hair with a sticker on the packaging begging for a review and telling me I’m awesome.
PANS! GLANDS! CRAYONS! AWESOME!

The XL knee brace, a couple KN-95s, an open package of cat/dog grooming wipes, aaaand a Hunter hp670 air purifier that worked for a minute before it made a weird noise and broke. No gummies. ^_^
GUMMIES!! The last couple of IRKs were adequately defined as “MEH”. But not today!! Today was an event! Bowl covers, gummies, all sorts of jewelry, knee braces, shorts, batter converters, and tupperware. I’m a sucker for electronics but the quantity of stuff filled that void. WIN.
I got the following:
*A case of bone broth dog biscuits. Sadly, our dog recently died, so these are going to church also.
*5 XL knee compression sleeves, these may come in handy
*An As-Seen-On-TV Richard Karn expandable hose, keeping this
*An IRK reusable shopping bag, keeping this, though it is a bit flimsy
*An electronic lock adapter to turn your deadbolt into a wifi compatible e-lock
*A hair removal device that claims to be 65% effective for up to 6 months. This too is being donated.
*A can coozy that will keep canned beverages cold and carbonated for a while. Another donation.
All in all, no big home runs, but no instant regret either.

First time IRK buyer. Got 2 Tiki Tunes outdoor speakers,a box of ground stakes for the speakers, the knee compression sleeve, the box of gummies, a 360 degree spinning charger, a flashlight, a Kate spade wireless charger, a pair of gold bumblebee earrings, and a purple and gold IRK bag. Not too bad
First timer. Got a Cuisinart 15 piece knife block set ($120 on amazon), knockaround pants that magically fit, short socks that fit, XL knee brace that fits the only person I know that uses a knee brace, and a blue purse that my mother snatched up. I think I won.
1st Tiem IRK: Case of Vegan Gummies I find tasty the fam does not, 15 protective masks, underwear (S), white t shirt (L), black cotton shorts (M), laser hair removal device, car rescue tool with flashlight, 2 under bed bags, 1 maya showerhead, and of course a IRK tote bag in lovely purple. Worth it-ish!
3 piece Lior Luggage set, 1 knee sleeve, 2 small boxer brief shorts and a IRK bag. After years of buying these things… it actually paid off.
