Sometimes, when I feel down or lonely, I glance up to the sky and wonder. I wonder about the birthday balloon. Where did it go? How long did it blow?
I get a little teary eyed thinking that maybe, just maybe, it’s still floating out there.
I remember the joy it shared with us for the few days we were all together. Then I smile. I dust myself off and give a loud shout. How much does the car insurance cost?
@werehatrack my favorite part last time was that it stayed up for two days and then within ten minutes after midnight everyone let it drop, not to be touched again until…now.
Thank you all for the birthday wishes. My birthday was spent first feeding the pets that the people left behind, then went to the laundromat, then helping someone clean her apartment as she is turning in her key tomorrow… and to celebrate I got a M&N Blizzard at Dairy Queen on the way home from the laundromat. Exciting birthday. Right?

Hot air balloon ride was on my mother-in-law’s bucket list years ago. For her bday one year we arranged a ride for her. To give it to her as a gift we put a helium balloon inside a box with a gondola attached to it by strings. When she opened the box it floated out with a note about her upcoming ride dangling from it. She was stunned. It was pretty cool!

Absolutely! It was cool because we watched the launc and chased her through town till they landed in a parking lot at a fitness center. It was pretty spectacular
