@gnafuthemeh@mycya4me Hoo Hoo
I have an owl outside (inside would be weird) some times of year. Very cool animals. A lot of avian activity in this area.
Ok, so I’ve been staring at the image in the daily deal email for like half an hour now trying to figure out why it’s not from Aliens even though it obviously is… like everything about the scene is right except that all the faces are wrong, because those obviously aren’t Lance Henriksen and Bill Paxton. And obviously that extremely nice looking Lenox flatware on the table…
Looks like a pretty good deal. Just a reminder, if you want this for your silverware set buy an extra for ready replenishment of the forks and spoons that mysteriously disappear over the years. I wish I had done that when I bought my silverware.
@dpease At this price definitely a good idea. Already ordered one set but I don’t even think I know 8 people or would have over for a meal. My anal brother-in-law already classifies me as a “hoarder.” He has his own issues we won’t get into.
@dpease I think you’d gag if you saw my utensils drawer. I think there is a set in there somewhere under all the randoms that accumulated over decades.
My daughter has to taste the forks before she buys. Some cheap flatware definitely leaves a metallic taste in your mouth. It is super uncomfortable shopping with her though.
@mdiaz Thanks, I’ll tell him. I found him some really nice plastic sets on Amazon, meant for picnics, but he’s just “saving” them until the cheapo ones break down.
This was my first meh purchase, and I feel a bit mislead or lied to. The title says it’s a Lenox Cambridge brand, but I just received them and it says the brand is “3B Studio” and “made Exclusively for Bed Bath & Beyond”. There is no mention of Lenox or Cambridge on the packaging. And it does not in any way feel anywhere close to a $162 quality silverware set. The spoons would not pass the ice cream test – if I tried to scoop ice cream out of a carton, the spoon would definitely bend.
@user09441817 I am sorry for the confusion!
Studio 3B was the designer on these sets (a house brand for BedBath), but they were manufactured by Cambridge. To further complicate things a bit, Cambridge was bought by Lenox – you’ll see in this link that this set mentions all three names (Lenox in the domain, Cambridge in the title, and Studio 3B as the designer). BedBathBeyond also calls them Cambridge
These are a Lenox/Cambridge product and are supported by their 25-year warranty.

Why does it have to be French?
@yakkoTDI
Has Je ne se quois?
@pmarin Message unclear even with help from Google Translate.
@yakkoTDI Pourquoi pas?
@Kyeh I cannot argue with that logic.
18/10 is what “AI” rates itself if you tell it to user a letter scale.
@DrunkCat Is that really the best you can do? You are never going to win them back like this.
@DrunkCat i’m saying
@yakkoTDI Please resubmit your comment in the form of a showme prompt.
Hrm quite a drop from the manufacturer’s limited 25 year warranty.
@stinks Good catch. These are actually supported by the 25-year Lenox warranty
Why is it called Flatware. Wouldn’t a flat spoon be a spatula?
Also, if you eat tuna with a fork would it be a tuning fork?
@OnionSoup Have you noticed everything is either “ware” or “wear” nowadays?
Flatware, tableware, cookware.
Formal wear, athletic wear, sleepwear.
@Kyeh @OnionSoup You forgot underwear, or are you going commando?
@OnionSoup @yakkoTDI Hah, no. I guess that one’s so basic I forgot it, whereas these others seem more recent.
@Kyeh @OnionSoup Malware?
@Kyeh I did wonder… When did “Cutlery” become “Flatware”?
@Kyeh @OnionSoup The whole thing wears me out. Now I’m wear-y and I’m putting on my sleepwear and taking a nap.
@OnionSoup You can tune a fork but you can’t tuna fish.

@gnafuthemeh @pmarin Inside would be great. No critter would be around!
Deal killer-NO ice tea spoons. This set is not complete.
18/10 is the good stuff. Cheap 18/0 flatware bends too easily.
@craigthom I had some 0/0, but it disintegrated.
Absolutely do not need

Is this Made in the USA?
@pixelated what century are you from? But yeah assuming it’s China, buy this old stock now before the tariffs kick in.
Today’s musical interlude. Why no coffeespoons?

Wonder what the weight is on this flatware. I can’t stand a lightweight flimsy fork. (that’s what she said)
They don’t look like they stack nicely in the drawer.
@Stefan yup that’s why I went to the IKEA stainless steel countertop canister. So much simpler. The drawer can still be for the fancy bits.

@demonbane this! I came over to see if anyone talked about this, haha
@demonbane @doorbot how about the number of fingers on that hand?
@demonbane @doorbot @Ignorant I gave up on counting fingers. More concerned about other AI images that show cats and dogs holding knives.

@dpease Good idea… remember the fate of poor Alanis Morissette.
@dpease I think you’d gag if you saw my utensils drawer. I think there is a set in there somewhere under all the randoms that accumulated over decades.
@806D2701 @dpease …took me a while to get the Alanis Morissette line. Was going to buy but I already paid. Who would have thought It Figures?

@mdiaz My brother won’t eat with metal utensils if he can help it!
@Kyeh Chipotle has the best plastic forks according to my daughter

I only eat at Taco Bell so unless it has sporks hard pass.
