Not in New England. We just went through a whopper of a Northeaster with torrential rain and high wind and chilly temperatures… It won’t be until Tuesday that we get summer-like temps and that’s not likely to last.
I wish it was boating weather to start summer. It’s been raining and 50. It’s not gonna a nice Memorial Day weekend. In the 60’s and cloudy. Monday will be sunny and 70. In two weeks we go back into the 70’s and sunshine finally.
@chienfou Unless you’re willing to swim, use a boat, or risk arrest and/or loss of life, there is no direct way to get from Galveston island to the mainland (or vice-versa) via any non-motor-vehicle method on the Houston side of the bay.
@chienfou We may have to relocate anyway. The problem is finding somewhere that’s both affordable and not controlled by people who want to roll back the calendar to 1803.
Pretty sure that’s a no. https://www.fandango.com/movies-in-theaters (Friendship is the movie The Cable Guy wanted to be. What’s the next Jim Carrey picture Paul Rudd should improve?)
Nah - it has been hot both during the day and at night for a while here. I’d just as soon wait until late June for nasty heat and humidity and have it last only about 6 weeks instead of around 5 months. Of course the trade off is shoveling snow. But then I can at least go skiing and x-c skiing, make snow forts and snowmen, have snowball fights…
Weather here has been nice for the last month and a half plus. Been in the pool several times already, gardens are going great guns. Wife and I are trying to stretch out our “air conditioner free” time as long as possible. So far we have managed to stay cool enough at night with the windows open and fans going. Since we’re outside most of the day when it’s hot anyway having the air conditioner on in the house doesn’t make any difference.
Already pulled some yellow squash and zucchini, should have tomatoes soon - probably by the time we get home. (We are currently in Florida visiting the BIL)

Here on the Great Lakes this is known as the period where the sledding gets very poor for a couple of months.
No. Beneficial start of summer was about 3 weeks ago and it topped 100
@Cerridwyn Ugh, doesn’t sound very beneficial to me!
@Cerridwyn I didn’t know you live in Southeast Asia!
(A friend was just in Vietnam and mentioned the high temperature and humidity there.)
@ItalianScallion Southern California between Palm Springs and lost Angeles
@Cerridwyn
Love it!
@Cerridwyn @ItalianScallion but not as far as Lost Wages across the border in Nevada.
@ItalianScallion @pmarin exactly. Although back when there wasn’t a lot of traffic it was a 3-hour drive

Here on the Gulf Coast, it’s the official start of Drunken-Asshole-In-Pickup-On-The-Way-Home-From-Fishing Season.
@werehatrack
Maybe stay off the road?

As I said… Or maybe relocate.

@werehatrack
Are you saying there’s a connection?
