I am hoping the marketing geniuses who write such clever copy saw the opportunity coming months ago, and stocked up on single-malts from Scotland and infinitely rechargeable batteries from Eurasia and maybe more Stroopwaffles?
More likely that they’re going to have been pulling in ugly polyester T-shirts in mislabeled sizes, obsolete charging bricks, low-res back-up cameras, LED light strips, desk lamps that provide dim 2300K illumination, the lowest-end cutlery from a once-respected brand name, and models of kitchen appliance that barely avoided being recalled. That’s the kind of thing one can easily find in the remainder-broker supply chain.
Once the stock markets continue to massively crater and the US economy basically collapses (which, btw, is exactly what the people in charge want… they explicitly said this even before the election), we won’t have any extra money to spend.
@haydesigner having voted for the party in charge, I distinctly do not remember where they said they wanted the market to collapse. Correct itself? Sure. We’ll be fine. You’ll be fine. Jobs will come back in different sectors like they always do.

@werehatrack Sounds like the opening bout in the Tariffdome after which we’ll have the main event: escalating car prices.
Does not matter.

I want the stroopwaffels above all else. Please have bought stroopwaffles.
@zinimusprime Dutch stroopwaffles, not those nasty less-sugar US-made imitations.
Not that I’ll be buying either one, but…
@werehatrack @zinimusprime YES
I bought a box of coffee ones, yes the real Dutch ones, at Cost Plus
