They actually sell them (couple of the flavors) at Trader Joe’s, I buy em from there. It’s not all Amazon dumped food. I honestly thought the same thing till I saw something I’d seen in a store before.

@Star2236 It’s entirely possible that the company didn’t unload ALL of its remaining inventory in one place, and some stores with a clientele more likely to buy the product might still want to stock it.

@PooltoyWolf @Star2236 I’m guessing that one distributor ended up overstocked because they were excessively optimistic about how many of their accounts would be carrying this item. That happens more often than you might think.

@PooltoyWolf I’d bet that the flavor is the reason stuff like this gets remaindered more like 80-90% of the time. Anything with either a just-mediocre or actively nasty flavor would need a huge marketing campaign to make it popular (think Monster), and while today’s item probably isn’t awful, I had never heard of it before, so buzz-making is not likely to have been one of their budget lines.

@troy I am one of those people who is not vegan, but can’t eat dairy. As I member of that community, I can tell you that when we see the word vegan, we know it’s all good. There are people who are not vegan but are allergic to shellfish, or not vegan but allergic to eggs, yet the product description doesn’t read, “vegan, dairy-free, shellfish-free, and egg-free” because the word “vegan” already does all the lifting - everything else is icing (hopefully vegan icing)

@shells And the entire State of California should have a blanket Prop 65 warning since they have made less than zero effort to identify any of the actual hazards or make any useful data available to the public. (That law, like too many others, was enacted with good intentions and then functionally abandoned in place without doing anything that would actually help anyone. The US CPSIA of 2008 is another example.)

Somewhere around here, I have an embroidered unauthorized “SPACEBALLS - The Dice Bag” that I picked up from one of my fellow vendors at a gaming con in Salt Lake. I have yet to see the flamethrower available. I did see rolls of toilet paper with the movie’s logo alternating with the studio splash screen once. I think Mel Brooks might have been amused by the inclusion.
