@sproinky When we sell these “Pick-2” events, the numbers need to be divided by 2. It counts each $14 40ct purchased instead of each $28 80ct purchased
@mediocrebot /showme a calculator with the granola bits splattered all over it but with proper calculator buttons. I need a real 0, not a double zero (this isn’t roulette) and a true #9 key. Your last calculator rendering was crazy.
1.4 oz and 160 calories each, I guess not too bad compared with the stuff at the store, but I miss the Kind 3-ingredient fruit bars. They were great and they appear to not be made any more.
These are too small but the price isn’t that bad. If they were 2.8oz and you got 40 of them they’d be more attractive, comparable to Clif bars.
@phr Aldi’s has their Pure & Simple brand bar, the peanut butter cookie flavor has 4 ingredients, peanuts, peanut meal, dates, and sea salt. They are 5 bucks for a box of 5 and they are delicious. The apple Pie flavor has seven ingredients but also delicious.
Anyone have anecdotal evidence of toddlers actually eating these? Mine wouldn’t eat the “kid” version but she’s demanding we have a “car snack” and these would fit the bill…
@jcpseattle ah, I just bought a sampler from the Mothershi-- oh, right, not Woot – I paid something closer to full price than Meh’s half off. From personal experience, kids will eat it, but the fruit ones wrinkle noses. (They smell “off”; I would liken them as “partially fermented”, probably from the amaranth, but still edible.)
I too miss the 3 ingredient bars, but those were mostly almonds and sugar.
@stinks Wow, I guess it has been 4 years of fidgits. (they were also a big hit at the church Trunk or Treat) Glad I already bought the Kind chocolate Chip bars last week for the kids this year. A better fit than this offering I think.
@caffeineguy@phendrick@troy So these are 74% larger and 75% more expensive per bar. At least there are more flavors.
The fruit ones might be interesting to try if there was a smaller assortment, since they’re not likely to keep for as long. Might go for another box of the peanut butter ones just to be safe.
@kuoh@phendrick@troy Well sure, I’m not disagreeing with that, only commenting that trick-or-treaters don’t deserve that extra 75%! (Especially since we get about 200 here)
@pakopako Thanks for the warning, guess I have a decision to make soon seeing as I already ordered a box of the strawberry banana flavor. At least it’s only a box of 40 and they can be given to the over age and low effort Halloweeners if need be.
@caffeineguy@kuoh@troy
Quick rant (at nobody in particular, 'cept maybe the new Goat)
Usually my deliveries arrive late-ish afternoons.
Of course, with it 92 degrees today, my order from last time purportedly arrived about 1 and I got home about 445 to welcome my Kind bars.
What kind? The melted kind. Oh well. Refrigerator should be able to hide that fault from porch beggars.
Do they name it “Kind” to coax the gullible into being kind enough to buy them, sort of like adding “Smart” to the name of a product to snare those who aren’t so much?
/showme a wife desperately trying to hide an abundance of KIND Healthy Grain Energy Bars from her husband under her shirt while telling him she’s pregnant.
@mediocrebot I had “in a bag” in the previous show me. Let’s try it without the bag :
/showme a wife desperately trying to hide an abundance of KIND Healthy Grain Energy Bars from her husband under her shirt while telling him she’s pregnant.
The kiddie bars I got last time were (and still are) soft (flexible) and sticky, but maybe that’s because they were delivered in a hot truck and left on a hot porch for a few hours.
Why would people buy this crap? I purchased them the last go round and they were stale melted and inedible. They gave me a freaking $5 credit when I complained. I threw them in the trash and said never again.
Just got mine today – got the dark chocolate chunk and mixed berry varietals. Eating the mixed berry and it tastes like fruity sand. Not great. Also (and of course I should have checked before purchasing), pretty high sugar content in these, so probably won’t be the go-to snack I thought I was getting.
@ACraigL Hmm… mine haven’t shipped and the cancel button is still available. What’s the refund policy if we end up receiving individually wrapped sand bars? I did opt for the strawberry banana flavor for half of my order, so perhaps it will be less sandy? I can live with the sugar, though my doctor likely would strongly disagree.

4 of you bought these for $57? Is this that new math I’ve been hearing about?
@sproinky I agree. I think their calculator is broken tonight.

Parody inspired by “A Fistful of Kind Bars”
Ok, you got me. I lol’d.
@stinks me too, I’m now giving them a handful of fidget spinners and still have some to go
@stinks This struck too close to home.
@stinks Wow, I guess it has been 4 years of fidgits. (they were also a big hit at the church Trunk or Treat) Glad I already bought the Kind chocolate Chip bars last week for the kids this year. A better fit than this offering I think.
Happy Halloween Witches!
Parody is “Romancing the Kind Bars.”
Cheap food. Meh found my weakness.
/giphy inscrutable-horrible-cellar

Is that a brag for this time or an apology for last time?
@phendrick Mostly to emphasize that this is barely cheaper (per gram) than our 99-for-$19.99 deal.
@phendrick @troy Those were about $0.20/ea. These are $0.35/ea. What trick-or-treaters need is things that hit their best by in the same month.
@caffeineguy @phendrick @troy So these are 74% larger and 75% more expensive per bar. At least there are more flavors.
The fruit ones might be interesting to try if there was a smaller assortment, since they’re not likely to keep for as long. Might go for another box of the peanut butter ones just to be safe.
KuoH
@caffeineguy @kuoh @phendrick it’s ever so slightly cheaper per gram
99 23g bars (2277g) for $19.99 = $0.00877 per gram
80 40g bars (3200g) for $28.00 = $0.00875 per gram
@kuoh @phendrick @troy Well sure, I’m not disagreeing with that, only commenting that trick-or-treaters don’t deserve that extra 75%! (Especially since we get about 200 here)
@kuoh I would not heartily endorse the fruit flavors. I’m going to try the non-fruit ones to see if they have the same… fragrance.
@pakopako Thanks for the warning, guess I have a decision to make soon seeing as I already ordered a box of the strawberry banana flavor. At least it’s only a box of 40 and they can be given to the over age and low effort Halloweeners if need be.

I may start saying it that way.

It says buy for $14. and you hit it and it changes to $28. MEH!
@ozwiz66 It shows $28 for 80 for me. Perhaps you should take a short nap and come back later.
@ozwiz66 @yakkoTDI Nap taken. Error remains. (Mobile app)
I think Nick Lowe said it best about giving these out on Halloween.
Why not…

@SSteve @xobzoo No, they are always brown. Only AI beanies can be different colors :
