Seriously, these are only sort of okay, for people who are not going to leave them connected to the faucet and will keep them inside, out of the sun. That’s how you make them last the longest. Connect, use, put away.
@cheffrey@werehatrack Can confirm; left 2 connected & pressurized, both failed & sprung pinhole leaks (although they lasted a little under a year between the both of them).
@cheffrey@dvermilion@werehatrack same… Had two 25ft connected to each other and just yesterday sprung my first leak at pretty close to a year of use, left outside in the soCal sun. I think I got those for about $25 so close to this price for double the length lol.
I’m ok with ~$25 a year as long as they last about that long. Better than going back to old school difficult to use, difficult to unwind/rewind, kinking and just overall annoying regular hoses vs these that just work great and easy to manage even if they last half as long.
I’m curious if white will last longer as far as sun/heat damage.
@jmclaugmeh Probably just once unless the unit has been allowed to cool. Usually, if you need to drain one, waiting is not an option. OTOH, if that’s the primary use you have, I’d say “go for it”, but be aware that a regular 3/4" garden hose will get the job done faster.
