Don’t buy. I tried both flavors. They must be made from the tendons, because several pieces would not break down, no matter how long I chewed it. The flavors are ok at first taste, but quickly become very unpleasant. And there is a super-intense dry-ness to them–
I swear they have antiperspirant added to the mix that wipes every bit of moisture from your mouth.
It seems that I purchased expensive dog treats. My dog will eat them. He eats other animals’ poop.
I’ve mentioned it here before, but these do not taste “junky”. They taste “healthy”, by which I mean lightly flavored.
They are tough things, as most dried jerky are, but the flavors I believe are mixed up: original tastes like umami (teriyaki flavored, so soy sauced without the soy), umami tastes plain (salty, smoky, and dry).
I think these are solid, if unremarkable pieces of meat. I prefer my jerky softer or tender (and either spicy or sweet), so these don’t fit that (especially the bigger pieces). I definitely wouldn’t pay the full retail price compared to say Archer (peppery and being a Target brand, is already cheap) or Krave (their spicy flavors are super hot and soft) or HTY (using fruit preserve to keep the meat tissue-paper tender, it’s pretty much meat candy).

@afathman They contain a small amount of garlic, which is toxic to many animals including dogs. Your dog probably should not get these.
@afathman my reaction was the opposite: at first the original smelled and tasted weird, but it was OK after a couple of pieces.
But I would not buy again.

These are perfectly fine, and we’re beef jerky junkies. We’ve only tried the original since Umami are out of stock.
