Note that even though this cord has three 20A outlets on it, that adapter will limit it to safely supplying 15A total… In other words don’t try to use something with one of those one-sideways-prong plugs as you will overload the circuit. But you can certainly use this as a beefy long multi tap with that adapter.
My generator has the inferior TT-30R receptacle on it. I bought a similar cord with that particular connector for about 3x this price and thought I was getting a good deal. If your generator has this connector, it should be a no brainer.
@raccoon81 yes, it will get it connected and even with the adapter it still makes it a good deal. The only thing I would worry about is the weight/leverage of the adapter and plug (this cord is chonky) pulling down on the outlet or sideways if the cord were to get yanked on. Extending the cord away from the face of the outlet multiplies the force that would exert and possibly lead to an unsafe situation.
Even with the additional purchase it’s probably the most economical way to do this… The Firman cord at Lowes with the TT30 plug runs about $60, and it’s higher elsewhere.
I’m actually considering ordering this cord and an L5-30 outlet and replacing the outlet on my generator to get the more stable twist lock connection. I should probably research this before the day or stock runs out.
@djslack@raccoon81 Huh. Replacing the receptacle on the generator is a good idea that I hadn’t thought of. This cord was a solid enough deal that I bought without checking what specific shape of receptacle my generator has. Adding an adapter to this price still leaves the whole package firmly in “bargain” territory.
I’ve looked multiple places and none of them specify if the conductors are copper, or copper clad aluminum. Great if copper, really meh if copper clad. Is that info available, maybe on the packaging? Its not shown on the Sunjoe site (which usually means copper clad and they don’t want to advertise it).
I just bought 3 of these units before I read the comments. I appreciate all the feedback and will research which connectors to buy for them. I agree, it is a great price.

Now I can run power to the trunk!!
I can’t never tell when a simple item is just simple enough to be sold out by midday.
I had a similar (but not as heavy duty) one I used for Holiday decorations (Minion, Olaf, a dragon, and others).
(I had a Halloween Dragon (orange/black) and a Xmas Dragon (green/red).)
@MarkDaSpark Inflatable dragons? -brofist-
Not sure this mixes well with high power, but I like it!

The adapter that is linked-to on amazon has an L5-20 receptacle.
The cord for sale here on meh has an L5-30 plug.
They do not go together. https://www.stayonline.com/product-resources/nema-locking-reference-chart.asp
@Comedian Thank you. I was about to buy this and the linked without even realizing
@Comedian Thank you, cancelled the plug adapter I had ordered. Now trying to find another adapter. Any suggestions?
@Comedian @RCFlyer @deenk Thank you – this one should work:

@Comedian @deenK @troy Thank you so much for the information. I am sure many people will appreciate your help.
@Comedian Thank you for this post!
I was about to buy not noticing this was specifically for generators.
@Comedian NOTE - Meh updated the listing to link to a different adapter cord.

Seems like a great price on a potentially useful product.
/eightball Would i ever have a use for one of these cords?
As I see it, yes
@phendrick Great, and thank you.
/buy
@phendrick that 8-ball does good work

@djslack Just checked my generator and same issue, TT-30R makes this not helpful. I was finally excited for a meh product.
@djslack Do you think https://www.amazon.com/WEN-GNA530-Twist-Lock-3600-Watt-Adapter/dp/B0BC2BVCZX/ this with the cord here is good? Hate adding extra adapters but the price on this is pretty good.
@raccoon81 yes, it will get it connected and even with the adapter it still makes it a good deal. this will work well with my 2 honda 2000i running in parallel
We need a 10/4!
@Felyne 10/4!
@mehcuda67
Really nice cord I don’t need!
Most SunJoe stuff is pretty good.
I don’t buy SunJoe products any more after the pressure washer I bought only lasted for 2 uses and never worked again.
@IAMIS this does have significantly fewer moving parts, so it’s got that going for it.
But there are three circuit breakers that are not easy to replace (but not impossible) if they fail, so there’s the flip side.
With my toxic-fumes-generating generator a safe distance from the house, 25 feet barely gets the cord through the kitchen window…
@MrNews you should look into an electricity-generating generator instead?
You had me at 10 gauge.
@duodec Good point! Copper clad seems likely for this price. Otherwise the melt price on the copper makes up a sizable portion of the purchase price.
I have a Firman dual fuel generator, WHO3242.
It’s for emergencies and I haven’t had to emergently use it yet. Can someone who understands electricity tell me if this is compatible?
@creativecstasy It is not compatible. You would need a TT-30P to L5-30R adapter.
@hoodwink thank you
