@Springbank Really kind of bugs me when they put stuff that is definitely broken or incomplete in like that. Just seems like a waste of resources, shipping garbage around the country.
Although mine is missing the utensils. The box was really trashed (although the pot and pan set looks new and is in good shape) so they likely fell out the holes (and maybe other things did? Who knows. It’s an irk so it is what it is.
I already have nice pots and pans that are my original first set so don’t need these, however nice I got something decent and no more of those nasty one time use face masks and under eye things that I have a bunch of from multiple irks. They are approaching the new trackrs.

To bad you don’t need those pans but terrific at the same time! My mom gave me a good set of pots and pans 30 plus years ago and they are still going strong. But my guy is doing a job on our non-stick frying pans that I bought, again and again and again…
I thought I was buying decent fry pans but after a year or so the non-stick finish starts coming off, black specks in our eggs before we add pepper isn’t a good day!
@Lynnerizer Yes non-stick don’t last all that long. They last longer with me alone though, but when I had a kid in the house… let’s just say it was hard to lie about not using a knife in the pan… the pan non-stick coating cut with the shinny showing through would tell on her.

I was surprised how light the box was until i opened it.

○ 1 really nice new very light-weight silver Kenneth Cole Packable Puffer jacket, men’s size L, sleeves about an inch short and fits me when zipped only if I hold my breath in, so only for a couple minutes. I can’t get outside that fast. Their sizes must run small. A little bigger and it would have been great under my motorcycle jacket for cold weather.
○ 1 pair new fancy ladies’ size 8.5 Muk Luks brand winter shoes. Water repellent, memory foam insole. These might have fit my late wife but I don’t recall what size her feet were.

I was SO EXCITED when I saw the picture FedEx sent after delivering my IRK. Not only did the box look extra big but there were TWO of them! (the little one I was expecting and knew what it was)

In my younger, pre-marriage days, I gave a lot of friendly massages. My gf of the time wasn’t thrilled, but didn’t fuss too much. Giftees became like immediate family over time.

You know what’s funny/weird/ironic to me, when we were young, strong and healthy enough to physically give each other massages we couldn’t afford to do it any other way! Or wouldn’t chose to spend the money on it. (I did get one professional massage, I ended up with a migraine for a week, no thank you! ) But now that we can’t physically give a good massage we CAN afford it! Or afford to buy things that do it for us.
It reminds me of my mom and her diamonds. She didn’t want to wear them when she was working and doing life when she was younger. Now that she’s retired she’s at high risk of being mugged or much worse if she wears her good jewelry! Funny how things change… Yes, sometimes sad, and those are the times to be grateful for our memories!

THAT is what stopped me from spending BIG money on stuff for him. Right now he’s got a new faux fur bed, 5" thick rim for leaning against with a soft bottom. He’s only used it a handful of times but it’s only been here 2 weeks so we’ll see.

I have a ton of them too. My kid is a sucker for snake oil so I give them to her. But obviously since you have gotten these since the beginning of time, clearly trackrs then are from ADBC BT (before the beginning of time).
@HollaBean it’s literally called an instant REGRET kit. They warn you in the title AND in the item description. In fact, I’m pretty sure they tell you not to buy it in the description because it will end in regret.
@HollaBean You should try having your only item (besides an irk bag) a very broken zillion pound jiggle back and forth platform you stand on for what reason I do not know. It was so heavy I had trouble lifting it high enough to put in the dumpster. I am sure meh wasted fortune sending me that irk.
Actually it is rare to have anything breakable wrapped in bubble wrap except back when we had the bubble wrap on going joke across several fuko (one of the names irks used to be called) events. Unfortunately broken breakables is pretty common. And some of the stuff that has arrived broken over the years would have been really nice unbroken.

Yes, I think colorful rooms look great, it’s just not me. Last year I saw the interior of my sister’s in-laws home when it was put on the market. It was one of the most beautiful color designs I’d ever seen! I only wish I could be comfortable with something like that.

I’m needing a new couch and I’d love to do leather but my guy doesn’t care for it. My sister had a nice nubuck leather couch and it was so comfortable. And a real pretty shade of green, I could do a subtle green shade. Goals!

Sometimes the saying is that when you get to my age you don’t give a f*** anymore and sometimes that’s really true. The chairs I bought when I lived up in Monterey and they are also made in Europe as is the metal and glass top table that goes with them. I really feel like with some small exceptions, mostly small local Furniture people which are rare anymore, but a lot of the stuff that’s made elsewhere is way better made. Now the couch is not super overstuffed like a classic American couch. But it’s comfortable and it’s beautiful and it’s all wood and leather and natural stuff. It’s not fun filled it’s I can’t work a feeling is I know I looked it up when I bought it. And damn did I pay for it but you know what got to enjoy it

@Kyeh Yes, they’re labeled to work on gas, electric, and glasstop, i.e., everything except induction… and I love my induction burner that I got used on eBay. (My stove is a bottom-of-the-line glasstop electric one.) It’s not a big deal since I have a set of carbon steel pans and I may ask Santa for a small induction-compatible sauce pan for fast boiling and controlled simmering when I cook for one (me).
@sillyheathen It could indeed be a unicorn, but after reading one- and two-star reviews for it, I have to be very careful not to scratch the non-stick coating.
@ItalianScallion awwww man. I adhded and didn’t even look at that piece. I’m not a fan of nonstick as a whole. It scratches far too easily. I’m all about the stainless, cast iron and carbon steel. Though I do think you got a much better deal than most of the rest. I’m on a hiatus from the irks at the moment. But I’m sure I will have much regret in the future.
@OnionSoup Thanks for reminding me about that. The one thing that I really like about induction cooktops is that they respond quickly when you change the heat settings. When you use a plate, that doesn’t happen. There’s also a question about whether or not using a plate can damage the electronics in the cooktop. I’ll go with what I have for now: some compatible pans and my new non-compatible pots and pans.
@sillyheathen Yeah, I’m with you on not usually preferring non-stick, especially now that my carbon steel pans have become pretty much non-stick. Still, this is a gorgeous, heavy-duty set so I’ll look past the non-stick surface in this case.
I’ve had a year’s worth of IRKs since I started buying them. Most have been just meh, but there’s been something useful in them. A couple have been real bombs and I’ve been full of regret, like the early November one, and a couple have been excellent, like this one and one that had a wonderful soft, fluffy, and warm comforter and matching pillow shams. I’ll never use the shams and might sew something else from them… maybe a scarf, a teapot cozy, a pullover hat…

It arrived. My eldest daughter is stoked. There was a set of super soft women’s pjs in M which is perfect for her. Also two boxes of gold eye masks. She loves them. Also two wireless phone chargers one of which has a watch charger(daughter is also super jazzed about that one). There is also another marble wireless charger. It can go in the new office space.

I was surprised how light the box was until i opened it.
○ 2 boxes of (puffy) eye masks.
○ 1 new greenish barely striped tee shirt, size M.
○ 1 really nice new very light-weight silver Kenneth Cole Packable Puffer jacket, men’s size L, sleeves about an inch short and fits me when zipped only if I hold my breath in, so only for a couple minutes. I can’t get outside that fast. Their sizes must run small. A little bigger and it would have been great under my motorcycle jacket for cold weather.
○ 1 pair new fancy ladies’ size 8.5 Muk Luks brand winter shoes. Water repellent, memory foam insole. These might have fit my late wife but I don’t recall what size her feet were.
○ 1 yellow / red IRK bag like those posted above.
Not a bad item in here. But will gift or donate all but the bag to spead some joy.
I was SO EXCITED when I saw the picture FedEx sent after delivering my IRK. Not only did the box look extra big but there were TWO of them! (the little one I was expecting and knew what it was)
After that build up in my mind I just KNEW regret was inevitable…
When the boxes were brought inside, my regret was real, they weren’t as big as they looked in the picture AND one of them was cleaning supplies I forgot were coming!

In my younger, pre-marriage days, I gave a lot of friendly massages. My gf of the time wasn’t thrilled, but didn’t fuss too much. Giftees became like immediate family over time.
I miss those really strong hands and forearms, and friendships, I had developed back then.

You know what’s funny/weird/ironic to me, when we were young, strong and healthy enough to physically give each other massages we couldn’t afford to do it any other way! Or wouldn’t chose to spend the money on it. (I did get one professional massage, I ended up with a migraine for a week, no thank you!

@HollaBean You should try having your only item (besides an irk bag) a very broken zillion pound jiggle back and forth platform you stand on for what reason I do not know. It was so heavy I had trouble lifting it high enough to put in the dumpster. I am sure meh wasted fortune sending me that irk.
Actually it is rare to have anything breakable wrapped in bubble wrap except back when we had the bubble wrap on going joke across several fuko (one of the names irks used to be called) events. Unfortunately broken breakables is pretty common. And some of the stuff that has arrived broken over the years would have been really nice unbroken.

Yes, I think colorful rooms look great, it’s just not me. Last year I saw the interior of my sister’s in-laws home when it was put on the market. It was one of the most beautiful color designs I’d ever seen! I only wish I could be comfortable with something like that.

And that I really liked. Sometimes the saying is that when you get to my age you don’t give a f*** anymore and sometimes that’s really true. The chairs I bought when I lived up in Monterey and they are also made in Europe as is the metal and glass top table that goes with them. I really feel like with some small exceptions, mostly small local Furniture people which are rare anymore, but a lot of the stuff that’s made elsewhere is way better made. Now the couch is not super overstuffed like a classic American couch. But it’s comfortable and it’s beautiful and it’s all wood and leather and natural stuff. It’s not fun filled it’s I can’t work a feeling is I know I looked it up when I bought it. And damn did I pay for it but you know what got to enjoy it

@Kyeh Yes, they’re labeled to work on gas, electric, and glasstop, i.e., everything except induction… and I love my induction burner that I got used on eBay. (My stove is a bottom-of-the-line glasstop electric one.) It’s not a big deal since I have a set of carbon steel pans and I may ask Santa for a small induction-compatible sauce pan for fast boiling and controlled simmering when I cook for one (me).
@sillyheathen It could indeed be a unicorn, but after reading one- and two-star reviews for it, I have to be very careful not to scratch the non-stick coating.
@ItalianScallion awwww man. I adhded and didn’t even look at that piece. I’m not a fan of nonstick as a whole. It scratches far too easily. I’m all about the stainless, cast iron and carbon steel. Though I do think you got a much better deal than most of the rest. I’m on a hiatus from the irks at the moment. But I’m sure I will have much regret in the future.
@ItalianScallion You can get metal plates to put under pans to make any pan compatible with induction burners.
@OnionSoup Thanks for reminding me about that. The one thing that I really like about induction cooktops is that they respond quickly when you change the heat settings. When you use a plate, that doesn’t happen. There’s also a question about whether or not using a plate can damage the electronics in the cooktop. I’ll go with what I have for now: some compatible pans and my new non-compatible pots and pans.
@sillyheathen Yeah, I’m with you on not usually preferring non-stick, especially now that my carbon steel pans have become pretty much non-stick. Still, this is a gorgeous, heavy-duty set so I’ll look past the non-stick surface in this case.
I’ve had a year’s worth of IRKs since I started buying them. Most have been just meh, but there’s been something useful in them. A couple have been real bombs and I’ve been full of regret, like the early November one, and a couple have been excellent, like this one and one that had a wonderful soft, fluffy, and warm comforter and matching pillow shams. I’ll never use the shams and might sew something else from them… maybe a scarf, a teapot cozy, a pullover hat…
