Blame because I could not find the envelope of stainless steel screws I went to get sunday at the local do-it-best because I forgot to get them at home depot because I had to go three times as far to home depot to get something local stores don’t carry.
Unblame because… I found the good remote on a shelf in the laundry room. (Belt snapped last week. I guess I set the remote down while going to the garage to get the right socket/nut driver to start disassembly)
Found the 1/2 inch copper to 1/2 inch threaded I knew I had but should have been with the plumbing parts bin.
Looking for the screws because id been grabbing a hose bib mount block the previous owners had. But they didn’t use so need to fix that.
Checked the basement where all the plumbing is good to go/complete the soldering.
Check pants/shorts/jacket pockets… Check desk/table/drawers. Garage again.
Give up. Go to check the water coming in the basement. Walk up the stairs for the third time.
“Oh… Duh they are going to be in/on that wall mounted cabinet in the entryway. Where I set things to go back to the garage”
Laying right on top… Don’t try and do 10 things at once

@Kyeh lol I took out an LED very bright flashlight and was scanning/retracing my movements for the last couple days which… Is how I found the remote.
But I know I put random bits of hardware on top of there all of the time because it’s raining/too humid to open the garage/some piece I had to mail order.
I don’t normally have them in a pocket. normal pocket things wallet/keys/phone/receipts all have destinations.
I am sure I put these in a pocket. Got home. Changed to “house clothes” and the was the logical place to put them.
Just took me a minute.
Honestly the remote in the laundry makes less sense.
Other than I knew they were going to play one of those stupid 3 minute AI ads. And I really wanted it to die as soon as possible in the middle of whatever history/scientific thing

@unksol I finally put an Airtag on my remote, and have used it several times! I carry it into the kitchen because there’s an opening above the sink so I can watch TV from there, but I want to mute the ads. And then I get distracted and put it down somewhere between the two rooms.
@Kyeh well not apple I can use the app but. A dedicated remote is just… Better.
Technically maybe test the over the air tuner
But yes I can use them via my phone. I haven’t tried it for OTA but remotes are Bluetooth

@cfg83 @Kyeh and just to be first if you do that to find something. All my it can do is w vector to your phone. Via your location which. Is creepy manipulative stuff it could just use Bluetooth and signal strength to guide you to them. Entirely without anyone . Basic triangulation.
If you wanted to allow the company to use your account to triangulate in the wild… I guess… Your choice to let them run up prices on demand. But you probably don’t? People who walk ar9 with location on just confuse a bit
