The Village People of Chester, NH
6The annual town-wide tradition in Chester, NH, called the “Village People of Chester,” is just about wrapping up for another season, and has been as entertaining & successful as ever. The residents come up with characters, themes & vignettes, populated by scarecrows, which benefit the town’s historical society. Here are a few clever or funny ones that i found scrolling through their Facebook page – there are dozens, which is impressive for such a small town! Here’s their page link in case anyone wants to check them out:

@ircon96 plumber? requisite crack, but no tools
@phendrick Lol, if he’s anything like my HVAC company techs, he’s just assessing the situation, then he can pad the bill with the time it takes moseying back & forth to the truck!

@ircon96 needs a Tom Ewell figure to be admiring
The van flip scene from “Stranger Things”:
Dorothy’s house on top of the Wicked Witch of the East:
Love the skeleton dogs & the rainbow theme, nice touches!
The infamous Cialis Super Bowl ad:
These are so clever! That’s a great tradition. I approve of the “Village People” Village People someone did.
Thanks for posting some good ones because I’m not on Farcebook.
@Kyeh Aren’t they?? I love seeing what everyone comes up with every year. Yes, IIRC, the “Village People” is an annual fixture, along with several “Jaws”-themed ones. I think the guys get a kick out of putting up the “You’re gonna need a bigger boat” signs!
@ircon96 I bet they do!
And, finally, The Fearless Girl of Wall Street (in front of the local Eddie Jones office ):
):
The skele-dogs make a great vignette, but what does the t-shirt say?
@phendrick
/showme a strawman with a cartoon head walking 5 skeleton dogs
@mediocrebot 2nd rate, plus lost a dog
@phendrick It says “Peace, Love, & Potty Breaks” with a peace sign, a heart & a drawing of one of those little fire hydrant poop bag holders, which i thought was hilarious
@phendrick PS - under that, it says “Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Services,” so i think that’s the name of their business.
@mediocrebot @phendrick I think he’s kinda cute, but as usual, the bot can’t count, which is ironic, cuz that’s pretty much why they invented computers in the first place! Lol
@phendrick Correction, i couldn’t see under the dog walker’s wig hair – it’s just a drawing of a fire hydrant & grass, although i think my hallucination would have been cuter. And, it would send the message that she’s a responsible, law-abiding business owner who uses poop bags! Lol
