Wait, this is actually cool. I carry a water bottle everywhere I go anyway. I not this is a terrible peak representation of late stage capitalism. But I actually kind of dig it.
@connorbush Agreed. I don’t see anything wrong with this bottle/charger. The bottle doesn’t leak, the battery pack works to charge my phone. It’s a tight fit into the largest cupholder in my car, but it does fit.
I paid $30 for two of these last time, so this is a bargain on top of a bargain.
@connorbush And if you already use your phone as a coaster for your water bottle then you don’t even have to change your daily habits; your phone will automatically get more charge.
@otherstalin@yakkoTDI Now that I’m learning about the different measurements of a ton, I was meaning a “short ton,” or 2000lb as we yankees like to use
I got this last time. Its a solid water bottle (keeps stuff cold . Doesn’t leak). BUT the battery is kind of a pain. You need to plug it in to itself, to turn it on. It only turns on when it starts charging once that happens then you can charge your device.
Also it goes with out saying, but it 24 oz of water isnt a lot of water.
@deenK not sure what you mean, I have one and there’s a power button on it (it’s touch sensitive not a physical button) that I can use to turn the battery on or off. It’s very hard to see but it’s right above the tylt logo and it also turns on the battery level indicator lights.
@petrosclark I know about the button, maybe mine is broken. I can see the “power button” but it doesn’t turn on. Long press, tap, double tap, Etc. I saw it, i tried it, and Nope.
The only thing that worked is what i said above. Which worked out for me since i use type c to charge anyway.
Ok. i just grabbed my bottle.
Im fine with saying maybe mine is defect/ broken unit the button does not work on mine. I already knew that, but for the sake of being fair. Meh.
I like the bottle, as a quick grab when i go on an “outing”. singular object to grab and keep track of. and the loop is easy to clip to my belt. For the price it sits comfortably in the “If i loose this i wont be too upset”. It has a solid battery. Its a good buy, just be prepared that yours may arrive with a wonky start up, in which case see above.
@thebigtverberg I hope not. like someone else said i may just have a defective unit ( units, i got two in the “deal”). I really like it, if you are the type to do any activity where you dont want to keep track of
multiple little thing this does the job nicely.
Whoever told me to clean the smell out of a bottle by using Baking Soda, I want you to know that you were a game changer. Now I’m back in the bottle drinking game. And just in time too, I think those sports collector bottles are going on sale.
@pixelated Maybe they don’t want to lose the cable that is stored in the hollow space… Once you remove the battery you can still stand up the bottle.
You also don’t have to remove the battery to use it as a wireless charger, but it is a tower that is ready to be knocked over when you stand the entire bottle upside down.
@Euniceandrich@pixelated@rpstrong Just for an aesthetically pleasing photo. You can just set the bottle upright – your call whether to leave the cable inside or remove, but it should stay inside if wound up nicely
I got two of these before. I actually use the battery from one of these as the wireless charging for a phone I only use when I listen to music to when I sleep. I leave the battery plugged in all the time, it works great. One of the bottles leaked, but i do use the one that works regularly.
bought these last time mid-december as a last minute impulse for the ‘kids’ who are in college. both use the chargers, they already have multiple water bottles.
@SChannell@troy I don’t know man. I need to hydrate everyday and I need to charge my phone everyday That’s like at least two uses right there. Not even to mention the unlimited possibilities as a generic blunt force object.
i got 2 of these before. they are quite solid and the bottle seems well-built. by « solid » I mean it also weighs quite a bit. the battery also seems to work well; the weight indicates it probably has substantial batteries. yes it has a power on charge button but maybe someone above got a defective one.

@Doodpants this just keeps getting better
How many bottles of alkaline water do I get on each charge?
@shaungreen426 Not enough to make a damn bit of difference in your blood or body’s pH.
needs bluetooth
@thismyusername Doesn’t everything?
Gosh guys, how many of these things did you buy?
@otherstalin a bit over 25 tons
@otherstalin @troy Imperial or metric?
@otherstalin @yakkoTDI Now that I’m learning about the different measurements of a ton, I was meaning a “short ton,” or 2000lb as we yankees like to use

@deenK However, 24 oz of java is awesome! It seems like a good idea for hunting, fishing or morning hikes.
FOOLS! TOOLS! JEWELS! AWESOME!
@deenK well, the charging fail is kind of a deal-breaker. Thanks for talking me out of it
@deenK Could you explain this in more detail? You don’t just plug a cord into the battery then to the phone?
@deenK not sure what you mean, I have one and there’s a power button on it (it’s touch sensitive not a physical button) that I can use to turn the battery on or off. It’s very hard to see but it’s right above the tylt logo and it also turns on the battery level indicator lights.

This isn’t as cursed a product as the chicken nugget cup holder container, but it is close.
12 hrs hot or cold is nowhere close to the 17-26 hrs in the previous page’s description. Whuddup widdat??
@joeywolf Varying specs on Amazon (17-26 hrs) and the manufacturer’s site (12 hrs). I updated to 12 hours. Thanks for catching!
@joeywolf @troy Now all you have to do is update the “story”.
Whoever told me to clean the smell out of a bottle by using Baking Soda, I want you to know that you were a game changer. Now I’m back in the bottle drinking game. And just in time too, I think those sports collector bottles are going on sale.
@AaronLeeJohnson Denture cleaner does a nice job too
@AaronLeeJohnson vinegar then baking soda… just not at the same time. This is how I clean my waterjug dispensing coolers.
@Euniceandrich @pixelated Maybe set the bottle (upright) on the phone?

@Fuzzalini I wish you’d bought four, so we’d have a better idea if 50% leak… or maybe 25% or 75%! Anyway, thnx for the input.
Ok.

bought these last time mid-december as a last minute impulse for the ‘kids’ who are in college. both use the chargers, they already have multiple water bottles.
WTF? Maybe the most useless item I’ve ever seen.
@SChannell @connorbush time for a debate!
@SChannell @troy I don’t know man. I need to hydrate everyday and I need to charge my phone everyday That’s like at least two uses right there. Not even to mention the unlimited possibilities as a generic blunt force object.
@troy We dressed two up for a Bride & Groom, they brought them to Europe on their honeymoon.

Gonna buy as a weird gift for someone. I mean, USB C!
I don’t carry around a water bottle or I would use it.
Mixing electricity and water. What could go wrong?
@mehlforwarding
Thank you!!
@mehlforwarding they are making electric sport and fishing boats now.
But also important is that most U.S. submarines were made by Electric Boat company.
@mehlforwarding @pmarin That run on plutonium….
/giphy enigmatic-happy-pot

@y0himba That woman is better than Cheech & Chong + Willie & Snoop Dogg combined!!
I wonder what the diameter is on the bottom. Some cars got narrow cupholder and I wonder if this would fit…
@TcxvmeS These fit in my '19 F-150 holders.
Diameter of the bottom of the bottle is approximately 3 1/8"
@TcxvmeS The diameter is 2x the radius.
Bought 2 of these, then bought 4 more…
I probably should buy another 10 but haven’t yet.
Clutch battery in a bottle of water you should be carrying around anyway.
If only it had speakers.
@Pavlov And knives.
Totally makes sense that a company that sells phone-charging water bottles is called Talk You Later To
i got 2 of these before. they are quite solid and the bottle seems well-built. by « solid » I mean it also weighs quite a bit. the battery also seems to work well; the weight indicates it probably has substantial batteries. yes it has a power on charge button but maybe someone above got a defective one.
Excited to get the one I just bought, I really like the website.
want to buy the damn thing!
@johntour You still can! Just click on the image at the top of this page to go to the still-active sales page.
Trying to figure out the tracking on my order got it for my daughterfor a trip she is going on need to know approximate delivery date thank you
Just got mine today… Returning cause the top leaks

@CharlieDru yeah mine is leaking too unfortunately
Mine arrived today with a dent. I wonder if there’s an easy way to exchange it.
