The Verbatim brand name made a lot of sense when it was on storage media. It is non-linear and a little upsetting to see it 35 years later on a Logitech mouse knockoff
@goldnectar That’s exactly what I told myself! $5 for an extra mouse is pretty much my limit. I think I have three or four in backup now so…don’t really need this tiny marvel this morning.
@goldnectar Yuup. Here we have inflation in it’s most basic form, where the rubber meets the road. A $5 item being sold for twice that. It makes even the meh more expensive.
@therealjrn Long ago, I had a laptop whose (which’s?) trackpad had grown flakey, so when I’d travel, I found it less frustrating to take a mouse with me. I stopped traveling for a long time and the next time I took it, the mouse battery was long dead (maybe I forgot to turn off the mouse or something), and I remembered that my boss had given me a mini, wired, travel mouse that he got at some conference or something and that now goes in my travel-electronics bag and it’s small enough and battery-less enough to work great for travel and also the cord is annoying enough to remind me why I like my cordless mouse at my desk.
I’d be in for one except I’ve worked diligently these past few years to remove AAA batteries from my life. Only AA devices for me (my travel bag always has spare rechargeable AA batteries and a USB charger)

Will this help me eat the cheese?
@yakkoTDI Or will it help you cut the cheese?
@werehatrack @yakkoTDI I’m still trying to figure out who moved the cheese.
@werehatrack I do not need any help with that.
Were those specs copied verbatim?
@werehatrack
don’t rat them out.
I have full-size travel cats that will have no problem dispensing with these mini travel mice.
“For mac or pc”

Shows it with a phone.
There’s a blurb on A’zon that says these are compatible with Chromebooks also.
I like this. But where’s the mini floppy drive?
@cfg83 Well, IIRC you needed a driver for this style of mouse on Win XP (or Vista), so yeah, you’d need to break out the floppy drive.
@ergomeh Ok, I have my excuse …
/showme Verbatim Wireless Mini Travel Mouse with Tiny floppy drive and tiny floppy being inserted by tiny computer programmer.
@cfg83 Here’s the image you requested for “Verbatim Wireless Mini Travel Mouse with Tiny floppy drive and tiny floppy being inserted by tiny…”
@mediocrebot Ok, I didn’t describe it well, but it’s still cute.

@dpease You haven’t worn the Polaroid headphones …
I got these in yellow on sale at Macy’s after XMas one year. Total garbage, and I loved it!
If this was $5, it would be Meh. However, $10 is a crime.

I hate dongles. There, I said it.
Why do travel mice have to be so small that they don’t fit your hand? I mean, is a real mouse so much larger?
That’s f/u/w computers with USB-A ports only, so won’t work with lot and lots of Mac computers.
@RowerBob My 5 year old Dell XPS-13 only has USB-C ports. Bluetooth might make it useful but otherwise not.
If it was Bluetooth I’d be in for one.
The dongles have killed my USB ports.
Well most likely from me setting my bag down too hard.
I, also, find travel mice too small for my hands, so I have finally learned, I think, not to buy them.
I really liked the Derique story… just needed to share that.
@diamonds215chic
Oui, bien joué!
It’s “je ne sais quoi” not “je ne c’est quoi”
