I’d have jumped on this before, but I’ve now since replaced all my Vornado stuff with Dreo. Tempted though as my office turns the heat on any time the temp drops below 70 outside, so it will stay around 80 for most of the day.
@wooterondo No problem, I’ve got one in every room of the house, and the little ones worked great for holding off the need for a/c this summer, we only had to run it for a few days when it got over 80 inside.
@spirit299 Based on the few Vornado I’ve had: The Dreo are far quieter and push far more air, they also have a lot more options (I know, who needs options on a fan), but having them is nice. The last Vornado I bought on here is the little desk USB one that was a tower. That desk fan is about 5-6x louder than the full on room fan from Dreo I have.
So at work now I have a Dreo on my desk blowing at my from behind my monitors and it actually keeps my desk and the desk behind me cooler than the rest of the office. The fan on two is about as quiet as my gaming PC, and while it gets loud on four it will also blow enough that even around 80 feels okay.
The Vornados that I bought didn’t blow as hard, were louder, and also I’ve had multiple Vornados fail where I had Dreo blowing for months on end without it. I may have gotten lucky in that though as modern products working 6 months seem to be a luxury, but I’ve had as many Vornado fans fail as I have Honeywell.
As an Old Person™, I’m here to comment about paperweights. Way back in the days before computers and electronic storage, there was paper. Lots and lots of paper. Air conditioning was scarce, so there were open windows and fans. And all of that paper that needed to be kept organized. Paperweights were essential. While it wasn’t necessary for paperweights to look nice, that was a bonus.
Side note - a neighbor’s sister died recently, leaving behind a huge collection of beautiful paperweights. They’ve been offering them to anyone who wants one, and I scored a lovely crystal one that glitters in my Window of Happiness™.

Hey Meh, I’ll trade you a wax Martha Stewart skull for one of these…
@shahnm
/showme two grim reapers trading a Martha Stewart skull for a vornado fan.
Umm… Meh, I hate to break it to you, but Summer is over.
@hchavers That’s why it’s here!
@hchavers That’s the point! Nostalmeh!
/showme person overheating in summer while surrounded by ten Vornado fans.
@hchavers Still Summer down here in Texas…plus this is GREAT for Winter too with Heating, that is why it is called an AIR Circulator…
Not everybody’s a fan of this offer.

Tabletop 7" Air Circulator
Did I miss the memo that replaced the word fan with “circulator”?? Do we not have fans anymore?
Was there a tiktok announcement that I missed?
@punkynpye I guess maybe fans have been designated as a “Sports Only” term now?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@MrGoodGuy @punkynpye Joe Buck is a sports air circulator.
@punkynpye Do we not have fans?
/showme Music Band Devo with Vornado fans in place of heads.
@punkynpye A circulator pushes air around a room, a fan is used to directly cool someone or someones.
This will lower the temp of a room 2-3 degrees vs a fan which is used to make one person feel better.

@punkynpye there was almost an entire writeup about how stupid this is, but actually they do call it a fan in the details (and I think on the box).
@punkynpye vornado truly circulates an entire room if angled right, much better than standard fans!
My doctor said I should exercise more to improve my circulation. One of these should take care of the problem, with less sweat.
@phendrick

This isn’t S P O O K Y. This is Meh!
@Wollyhop Website name checks out.

@Artimid wow, thanks for the Dreo rec. Those fans look nuts.

@Artimid
What is it about Dreo fans that you prefer over Vornado?

I’ve got one of these, or at least it’s awfully close - for the size it does a surprisingly good job.

Kudos to everyone for not making “Only Fans” jokes in the comments. As a group, I think we’re maturing very nicely.
I have a similarly sized Vornado model I got many years ago. Still works great.
I assume both this and the Sippi fans are plug-in? Trying to decide which to get for work.
@sflesch Zippi.
@sflesch from the specs above (and the Zippi specs) it looks like they are both corded with 6 ft cords.
@Ignorant Thanks. I did see the 6-ft cord on the Zippi after I looked a little further but I didn’t see it on the 5303.
Now I just need to figure out which one or ones I want for work.
