@chienfou@tweezak same. We do dinner every night together. We only do breakfast together on holidays and weekends because everyone’s schedules are so different. Actually our eldest is taking culinary in high school and has been making breakfast for he and his sister, as they’re both in high school. We have a Sunday meeting where we go over financials, talk about the upcoming week and meal plan. Every kid has to pick at least one meal and they’re responsible for prepping and or helping to cook it. Weve been doing that part for a few months and it’s been delightfully successful.
@hchavers Around here, that’s usually something we made and then froze in one-meal portions. Chili, several bean dishes, and several rice dishes tend to be frequent entrees available for heat-n-eat. The beans usually get combined with rice.
Tuesday or Wednesday I usually make a decent meal bc Monday is leftover due to garbage the next morning. It all just depends on what we have left in the fridge and what we’ve cooked over the weekend.
What will happen tonight…
Wednesday dinner is no different than any other night
@heartny yeah, I’m surprised they didn’t have that as an option
Do people actually plan meals anymore? When I grew up we always sat down as a family for a homemade breakfast and dinner. Seems like that has ended.
@tweezak
Yes we do, and no it hasn’t.
@chienfou I am glad to hear that. I was losing hope for society.

@chienfou @sillyheathen @tweezak
Nice
@tweezak
I don’t but I’m a single person who lives alone and works from home.
It’s when I go to work and have a snack with coffee when I start at 9pm.
Wednesday dinner is for the girlfriends. Saturday is for the wives.
@medz
What is this goodfellas
Wednesday dinner is either whatever one of us decides to make, or whatever we decide to pull out of the fridge or freezer to reheat.
Wednesday is Prince Spaghetti Day
another microwave, precooked meal

@tweezak just need mustard, saltines and a fishing boat! Also the small glass bottles of ice cold Coca Cola.
What it is depends entirely on what lunch was and whether any was left. Usually not worth any more effort than that, for one person.
