Weird package tracking may be wrong.
2I know that many here have had parcels go on extended leisurely cruises in transit, occasionally appearing to have decided to emigrate elsewhere instead of arriving at their intended destination. Last night, I checked the status on an item over at SideDeal, and they said it was in Abbeyville, Colorado. (It still says that this morning.) Arooo? WTF? Seeking additional details, I copypastaed the tracking number over to USPS, and their tracker said it was here in Houston at a sorting center, with nothing in the extended details to show that it had ever been anywhere but Texas. (It’s showing out for delivery now, both at SideDeal and USPS.)
Ergo, for the general benefit, I am observing that perhaps Mediocrebot gets a bit too deep in the sauce when it fetches its tracking updates. For my part, I will make a habit of checking the tracking direct with the carrier rather than just looking in my orders list.

I can do you better. Carrolton, TX to Gurnee, IL to Chicago, IL to Dallas, TX to Tulsa, OK! AND The bot and USPS agree!

@therealjrn I’ve had that happen, too. The most infamous was an eBay purchase that left Nashville, and then entered a loop that shifted it from Memphis to Texarkana and back five times before UPS could catch it and kill the old label on the box that was causing the problem.
@therealjrn
Makes me suspect that these were potentially drop shipped. The label was created in Texas but the item was shipped from the Chicago area.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@chienfou I thought about that, certainly the order gets processed in Texas, then starts out in Illinois.
My order was for those little magnetic pickup tools…
The packing slip and label had the Morningsave logo! Bought on meh tho. I’m sure it gets complex.
