Does anybody else remember those pocket digital address books? They existed in that narrow slice of time between “the technology is advanced enough for this device to exist” and “everybody has a cell phone that has this function and more built-in”.
@kensey I think I had a cheap one before I got my first PDA. The PDA was way more useful, but the predecessor was helpful a few times (and not just in cementing my thoughts on getting the PDA).
I’d have to say my cell phone.
I can DO just about anything from my phone. I can buy anything that my heart desires from a hot meal to a new home. Heck, I can even get a college degree, see my doctor or virtually walk down the street of another country from the comfort of my couch! And let’s not forget the plethora of information on anything imaginable right at my fingertips.
I always hoped we’d live in a world like The Jetsons someday. Looks like we made it! Who would have ever imagined?
Although… the automatic pooper scooper is a pretty cool idea too, possibly a close second!
@Lynnerizer
I still don’t consider us living like the Jetsons. When I think of the Jetsons, I think of self driving flying cars, food in pill form that taste good and fills you up, robots as maids/nanny’s, george works very little and they live high in the sky (i just watched a couple episodes last week and used to play jetsons a lot a little kid). Although, we did nail the smart home aspect and video calls and their watches they had. Being a kid watching the show I thought there was no way we’d be able to talk to someone and see them at the same time, the aspect is still kinda crazy growing up and thinking the Oregon trail was tits (I still think it a and would love to play the game again).
My first home computer. I worked with mainframes, so having a working computer at home was being in another dimension. (The Apple II was my third, for reference)
Using AI at work to do coding that I should know how to do myself.
@tweezak AI is revolutionary!
(But don’t people tend to die in revolutions?)
@tweezak
/showme AI bots leading a revolution with mere mortals watching apprehensively
@phendrick Here’s the image you requested for “AI bots leading a revolution with mere mortals watching apprehensively”
@mediocrebot methinks the bot has seen “Robocop”
@tweezak I hope you name isn’t Miles Dyson or related to him in any way.

I don’t think you know that the word “favorite” means …
A cordless phone that you can use everywhere. Who could ever want to be called anywhere at anytime?

@mycya4me Wow, the bot even provided a tacky joke poster - it’s getting awfully sassy!

Flat screen tv’s…and it should have stopped there.
The ice maker in my fridge that makes nice clear ice cubes
