@mediocrebot The guacamole is a good touch, but also needs some chili plus Cholula. And you forgot the cold beer.
And now I want a snack. And a cold beer.
…they not cut into something i actually want to watch. Oy, i hate this time of year, when it seems like every sport ever invented (except the few good ones, like tennis, artistic gymnastics & figure skating ) ruins the boob tube schedule!
My heart is broken and I’m so sad. You see I grew up on baseball; both watching games and rooting for my St.Louis Cardinals and playing little league baseball while my Mom cheered me on from the stands. To now see and read all these negative comments about baseball is sad indeed.
I was enduring the same negative sentiments recently as I watched game 3 of the ALCS Mariners/Bluejays. I mean come on, it was only 15 innings and a smidge over 4.5 hours. It’s not like we were at the game, just on the couch in our comfy living room. Okay, so we had to get up for work in a couple hours, but it’s worth it, right?
@accelerator
Grew up going to see the Cardinals play in the old Busch stadium. The St Louis Post Dispatch used to give out (3) pairs of tickets to each straight A students in the local public school systems. Attended games several years that way. Great times!
@chienfou I grew up North of St. Louis in the small town of Louisiana, MO. It’s located on, and sometimes in the Mississippi River on highway 79. With a population of ~3500 we had to go to St. Louis for our big city experience.
@accelerator
I was around for folks like Curt Flood, Tim McCarver, Orlando Cepeda, Bob Gibson, Mike Shannon, etc…
Many good memories of those years. Left the St Louis area in 1973
if you were a Mariners fan and paid BUKU BUCKS for a seat…then 15 innings was heaven sent! PS…in Seattle the seats behind home-plate are going for $4500 and you know they are praying or another 5 hour game.
No baseball.
@yakkoTDI correct answer
@yakkoTDI I agree, But I would like to see Banana Ball! look it upon you have not hear of it.
@mycya4me @yakkoTDI Yeah, that would be my choice too! And I actually do like baseball (learned to like it for my husband’s sake years ago.)
@yakkoTDI Yes. No baseball, please.
/showme a baseball fan eating a big plate of nachos while ignoring the game

Double no hitter
Depends. Pitching duels are better to watch at home on tv. A bunch of hits/baserunners are better to watch in the stands.

@ircon96 At least we’ll have the Olympics in a few months!
@Kyeh Yay! At least for those, everything gets put on hold on the designated channels & everything else goes on like normal.

I’d rather watch/listen to a small horse-like Twitch streamer play something violent / do art.
Football
Savannah Bananas
@BioBill I have heard they are the Best!
Don’t prefer baseball but when I do it involves peanuts and beer.
I prefer to be at home doing something interesting, like watching paint dry.
@kittykat9180 I guess you also like watch the grass grow! there have been web cams set up to let you do that!
@kittykat9180 @mycya4me Watching grass grow can be exciting. The Beer Book of World Records has a species of bamboo at 91 cm a day.
@mycya4me
If it’s between that and baseball, what’s the URL.
I’d rather be doing yard work than watch or listen to baseball. And I abhor yard work
@cevans125 So do I!

@accelerator @chienfou You’re not going to get crazy moments like this that require focused attention every week:

That game was great until the 15th inning. I’m obviously a Detroit fan.

My team to win! I’m a baseball fan, hate football.
Phillies, maybe next year
Anything else…
Even a root canal would be preferable…
@PhysAssist
Next time my dentist tells me I need a root canal I’ll call you! Any particular game you want me to see?
@chienfou
I’m not volunteering for your dental care, just avoiding terminal boredom.
