@baqui63 Only reason my cats sleep in my bed is thats where their mom would move them every time i went to work. I also keep a giant donut shaped bed on their side of the bed.
@kjady I came to say this; Toby has different spots for different moods. He usually ends up on my bed in the morning, though, sleeping alongside me so he knows immediately if I start to get up. Breakfast!
@kjady I was going to say all the choices in today’s poll. My cats usually start out on the bed when I turn in for the night. Before too long they head out to points unknown but I find evidence of kitty camp sites all over the house.
@kjady at least three on me when I’m on the couch. constantly relocating them. In bed teql’c seems to spend the whole night. Alex the big heavy black cat shows up and goes to town kneeding so you can’t sleep for at least 30 minutes. Someone walking around my head/laying on the pillow…
Above cabinets. In cat trees. On top of some hutch. Chaos
@unksol That’s why my cats have their own side of the bed. They will occassionally congregate around me in the recliner. I have six and they can get a little testy at times. I refuse to dictate anything other than staying on their side of the bed.
@kjady unfortunately… Some have… Either decided to spray or just flat out piss on the bed before. There’s some issues there… Other surfaces. The ladies all need fixed. The boys got dealt with but not before mistakes were made that resulted in undesired… Replication
Let’s say the bed is uparmored cause can’t trust them during the day. At night well. Im On the couch a lot. Just cause sleep/work issues. If In bed block that side… And it’s fine.
Alex can really apply some pressure if someone needed a massage lol. He is a chonky/strong boy.
She sleeps all over the house. At night she starts on the floor at the foot of my bed. Then she wanders off. Sometimes she’s in the spare room on the bed, other times she hops up with me. Throughout the day she’s either in a bed, on the couch, on the floor, on one of her beds, or trying to squeeze into the recliner with me. She pretty much sleeps wherever she wants.
@Kyeh@Lynnerizer
Yep. Both right!
Bandit is channeling his inner Salvador Dali model in that picture.
Smokey spends most of her indoor time in her cardboard ‘bowl’.
Of course, as I write this Bandit is sacked on my lap. Which is his usual spot if I’m in the house and sitting down.
Like @kjady said up top, anywhere they want!
That should have been one of the choices! Or another choice could have been On me!
Our guy Tucker sleeps anywhere EXCEPT on the cat beds I’ve bought!
At night he starts off against my leg, (he’s lucky that I don’t move) he’ll eventually make his way across my body and ending up next to my head.
During the day he’s got a few other spots, the back of the couch, upsidedown on the floor in a sun ray, and either inside or on top of his newest favorite box before it gets recycled.
Of course IRK boxes are his favorite! Speaking of that, Isn’t it time for a Meh-rathon!
I don’t have a pet, but when I did he slept in his bed. I don’t like animals on furniture and he certainly wasn’t going to get in my bed after peeing on himself daily.
@tinamarie1974 no, he just had a habit of lowering his leg and resuming walking before he finished.
My friend’s GSP urinates on his front leg almost every time. Apparently that’s common with GSPs. (My dog was an Anatolian Shepherd mix)
I had a GSP when I was in college and didnt experience that issue. He would squat vs raise his leg, but that was it. He was an amazing dog - actually long story, but the place where I trained him worked w police dogs. He was so good they wanted him for their program (sniffer). Obviously I said NO!
Like many others said, wherever they want. But mostly on the bed with me at night. They have 3 beds between the two of them and they use them all. They also like the floor when it’s hot.
Woof! My mom sleeps in my bed the sleep room and on my couch sometimes! It is hard work to make sure she doesn’t take up too much space!!! I have my own blank-ee, dont like to share with her!
@kittykat9180 hi frien! How do you not know me? I am famous goat dog Charliedoggo!!!
Its ok, you can give me peanut butter treats to make up. I love peanut butter!! Also, I can share my toys if you want to play fetch. I have LOTS of them. Woof!!
Anywhere but in our bedroom. We shut the door when we go to bed or we would wake to an 18lb cat on the chest, kneading and purring like a chainsaw in the middle of the night. The two cats sleep wherever else they choose at night. This summer, the boy has started fussing to go outside in the wee hours - I’m not sure if he sleeps or just prowls around when he’s outside. I suspect that will end when the weather turns bad.
The dog sleeps in his own bedroom (with the door closed). It used to be our youngest daughter’s bedroom and he slept in there when she volunteered to take him after our older daughter’s circumstances changed and she could no longer keep him. But the dog stayed when the kid moved out for good, so now he has his own room.
@macromeh
18lbs! That’s a big cat! I once sat a cat that was 30lbs and it was so fat and lazy it wouldn’t even sit or stand up to eat. It layed on its side and used its paw to scoop food out of the bowl into its mouth. It was the funniest thing ever.
@chienfou@Star2236 Here are the (vaguely cat-shaped) lumps. (This was a couple years ago and we have recently had them on a diet, so they may be slightly lighter now.)
@macromeh@Star2236@unksol
Just took mine (BANDIT) to the vet for his annual shots a week ago. He was amazingly compliant on the large floor scale they have. Tagged in at 14-4.
20+ is a lot of kitty!
@chienfou@macromeh@Star2236 lol Alex has been getting a little “thicker” recently, keeping an eye on that. But mostly he’s just large/dense. Especially compared to the rest. You def feel it when he’s putting the muscle in.
@chienfou@macromeh@Star2236@unksol I have a genuine grocery store produce scale; I got it someone who bought it from a Wild Oats store that shut down. It’s great for weighing Toby but he doesn’t like it.
@chienfou@Kyeh@Star2236@unksol When I weigh the cats, I just weigh myself alone on the bathroom scale, then again while holding a cat and note the difference. They won’t stay still to get weighed by themselves.
@chienfou@macromeh@Star2236@unksol Yes, that’s what I usually do too; I just thought it would be so convenient to weigh him in this scale. But even if I put treats in it, he gets nervous.
@chienfou@Kyeh@macromeh@Star2236 that’s what I did. Lol. But I don’t carry him around a ton. So he started kicking a little when my shenanigans did not align with his preference.
Tried to get a pic with something for scale but he avoiding me and the rest are stalking me. And idk why.
@chienfou@Kyeh@macromeh@Star2236 it’s possible they somehow processed the fact that the food bucket is empty… But their bowls aren’t and a months worth will be here in the morning. It’s a little disconcerting when the whole herd starts following you at once and you don’t know why lol
He sleeps hanging on my glasses.
My cats sleep where ever and when ever they want. Sometimes on their beds, some times on mine. Fuzzers is fond of the dirty towel basket. Cats, Right?
What @kjady said, except for the whole dirty towel basket thing. Very rarely on my bed, tho
@baqui63 Only reason my cats sleep in my bed is thats where their mom would move them every time i went to work. I also keep a giant donut shaped bed on their side of the bed.

He does like the laundry basket
especially on freshly laundered things.
@kjady My cat has a scratch box and she sleeps in there half the time. The other times it’s in our spots on the couch or chairs.
@kjady I was going to say all the choices in today’s poll. My cats usually start out on the bed when I turn in for the night. Before too long they head out to points unknown but I find evidence of kitty camp sites all over the house.
@kjady Ours sleep wherever we don’t want them to.
@werehatrack
Moments before Fuzzers decided the sink was just the right nap spot.

It seems that the small furry critters have taken over Meh.
Good.
@shahnm would you prefer the large ones?
@unksol That’s who used to be in charge.
with her ball obviously
Based on her being 6 pounds and taking up most of the bed while I sleep with one ass cheek hanging off, I think we both sleep in her bed.
In my closet on my clothes
@honeybeehives3 Is this your cat?
@Kyeh That’s funny. I’d like to see the cat get up there

Bandit sleeps on one of the barstools or the couch (or my lap if I’m sitting anywhere)

Smokey likes her cardboard bed.
@chienfou It sure sounds like they’ve become indoor kitties …
@chienfou
Should have said “looks like”
@chienfou @Kyeh

Or they could be tuckered out after just coming in from their outdoor shenanigans of play time!
@Kyeh @Lynnerizer
Yep. Both right!

@kittykat9180 your pet peed on ITSELF??? Was it disabled or special needs in some way?
@tinamarie1974 no, he just had a habit of lowering his leg and resuming walking before he finished.
My friend’s GSP urinates on his front leg almost every time. Apparently that’s common with GSPs. (My dog was an Anatolian Shepherd mix)
@kittykat9180 interesting.

@tinamarie1974 Goose doesn’t pee on himself if he squats but he does when he lifts his leg.
Everywhere
On her bed, which is on my bed.
Yes
@togle Although my mom’s dog insists on sleeping in the guest bedroom (in the bed or in a dog bed that’s on the floor) when he’s here ¯_(ツ)_/¯

@CharlieDoggo I was super confused until I read your handle.
@kittykat9180 hi frien! How do you not know me? I am famous goat dog Charliedoggo!!!
Its ok, you can give me peanut butter treats to make up. I love peanut butter!! Also, I can share my toys if you want to play fetch. I have LOTS of them. Woof!!

@CharlieDoggo I’m not in the mood to chase any balls right now. Thanks for the offer though.
@kittykat9180 no fetch 🫨
I think you are sekret agent CAT!!! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF!! WOOF!!
No paws!
In their tanks.

@chienfou @macromeh @Star2236 I happened to buy an accurate human scale from meh. And alex is a brick house. Now I must know
@chienfou @macromeh @Star2236 he’s like 20 - 21 lbs. He did not appreciate my experiment to much though lol
@macromeh @Star2236 @unksol

@chienfou @macromeh
Those are some big cats. Their fur makes them look even bigger.

@chienfou @Kyeh @macromeh @Star2236 just cause

Tiny lions will always eat you. Grass to grass lion king style
Somewhere else, which essentially means “all of the above”
on me. but when I go to bed, she’s in the attic (it’s finished and I’m allergic to cats) she’s usually on her heating pad.
