Jeffrey Zakarian is an Iron Chef from ~20 years ago who still judges a bunch of cooking contests. These knives are supposedly high-carbon german steel, so they should hold an edge for a while. Looks like they originally retailed for around $10-20 per knife. My Henckels are way better.
Last time I checked, “german” was a location description, and doesn’t tell me anything about the metal. A440 would be a good grade of stainless. 9Cr18Mov would be even better. But for all I can tell, this could be literal pot metal like 18/8 stainless. Full Tang german pot metal.
This QVC review has me questioning if maybe these were designed for anemics:

I am sitting here looking at my steak knife with serrated edges realizing it is missing teeth…where did they go… oh no… is it in my meat…? the teeth have come off…SAFETY HAZARD
