This Pinot Noir exhibits aromas of ripe plum, mocha and soft oak, care of 90% French oak, 10% new oak for 3.5 months aging. Flavors of bright red cherry and warm spice segue to a persistent finish that lingers long after the sun fades to nightfall.

@Kidsandliz And it’s twelve for eighty bucks, which is $6.75 per bottle if the wetware coprocessor is correct. For a decent wine, that’s a bargain. Since the only consistent use for wine around here is as a cooking ingredient, and we use maybe a bottle of red per year, it’s not a fantastic find for me.

The 2022 Old Mountain Pinot Noir (California, value-oriented brand from Sonoma Bespoke) is a light- to medium-bodied, approachable wine with aromas of ripe plum, mocha, soft oak, and fresh red fruits (cherry, strawberry, raspberry) plus a hint of vanilla. On the palate it shows bright red cherry, warm baking spices, and subtle earthy notes, with silky tannins, balanced acidity, and a clean, persistent finish.
It’s an easy-drinking, fruit-forward style well-suited for casual sipping or pairing with roasted chicken, salmon, or mushroom dishes—good value in the roughly $10–16 range, though not a complex or age-worthy example.
I have bought multiple wine selections from Meh and Casemates with high hopes yet all of them have had flavor profiles that were unpopular with those I wished to impress.
@Michaelforman You are obviously trying to impress the wrong class of people if you serve them something from Meh. (Hope you didn’t tell them where you got those from, would diminish your value on their Christmas lists.)
