They’re back, and for $2 less than last time. They must have a huge shipment of these.
That said, I bought them last time. They’re the same general stuff as any other energy shot/drink, and work about the same. They taste awful, but better than some brands of these, but they’re also small enough that taste doesn’t matter much (and it doesn’t linger).
@yoda133113 Yeah, bought them, tried one instead of my usual 3 cups of coffee, could feel my heart trying to burst out of my chest. Haven’t had a second one yet.
I get a noticeable boost from just 12mg of caffeine, although 40-50mg is optimal. 185mg seems excessive. Maybe I’ll dilute them and divvy up the diluted liquid into a bunch of empty bottles I have.
I bought these last time when they were $20 for a 36-pack. I wouldn’t exactly say they taste awful, but I also like sour stuff well enough, and they’re fairly sour and only somewhat fruity-tasting to cover up the bitter taste of caffeine. As said above, if you do hate the taste, they are at least small enough that you can swallow them in one gulp and then wash it down with some water.
@Jamileigh17 I really wish “natural flavors” wasn’t allowed to be used as an ingredient listing. Some people know, but I suspect most don’t, that almost anything could be snuck in under that umbrella term. We need more transparency in things we consume.
@werehatrack sure, why not? And people enjoy it for breakfast, too. Not sure we can say the same for allowed things such as “castoreum (beaver anal gland secretion).” Sorry!
@Jamileigh17@yakkoTDI yeah, unfortunately all the asbestos fields were decimated in the Dust Bowl of the early 20th century. It’s all synthetic these days. Even that is getting hard to find. I’m gonna go check above my popcorn ceiling. Hey there’s another yummy foodstuff!
These are more like mini, concentrated Monster energy drink, than 5-Hour Energy. By that, I mean they kick in fast, but leave just as quickly - crash. Not a long, sustained, graduated wind-down.
Just a caveat emptor FYI, if you were looking at these as a 5-Hour replacement.

This deal is full of bull.
No wings??? I’m out.
/showme a guy named Matt opening a door to get a Matador energy shot.
@mediocrebot “Matador” translated into “Wataver” - seems fitting.
Mehtador.
Not snake oil but oil of Olé.

@yoda133113 imo, the taste is to the level of “not pleasant,” almost to meh, much better than awful

Why do these things scare me more than say a regular size Monster can? Something about these tiny shots just irks me.

@Wireball_ leave a note pinned you for the people in the E.R. To figure out what you did to yourself.

Ingredient list from Amazon for the curious:
Water, Citric Acid, Natural Flavors, Malic Acid, Sodium Chloride, Sucralose

But thank you for the info.!
@Jamileigh17 @mehvid1 They allow it because people freak out over asbestos being in the ingredient list and it is 100% natural.
Asbestos isn’t plant or animal derived, so it doesn’t qualify as a natural flavor. But natto extract might, I suppose.

@matttys I found it ironic that the 1st bullet point in Meh’s write up was “… 185mg of caffeine from real coffee beans for smooth, crash-free energy.”
@matttys @mehvid1 A cup of coffee has 95mg of caffeine. So, one of these shots is roughly the equivalent of 2 cups of coffee.
I don’t use energy drink.
I take naps.
I bought this last time. SOUR
Math is hard.
We will do anything to avoid a good night’s sleep.
At this price, I’ll give it a shot.
And based on the taste comments, probably have a chaser ready.

I was curious what specific shady gas stations these are available at, but the store locator is not much help.
