@2many2no We don’t have that spec unfortunately. Google says anywhere from 3-20 hours for a 500-lumen LED powered by 4 AA’s. I’d expect 3 hours on highest brightness
@Kidsandliz one of the reviewers could not figure out how to put batteries in them.
I don’t know if I should laugh or cry.
or wonder if the battery hatch is somehow impenetrable.
I’ve been wondering… Why Meh doesn’t even discount the price of an item $1.00 lower, when the price of the same item(s) on Sidedeal are identical.
And Especially during a Meh-a-thon
Per the ad copy…
“you have four settings: high, low, and normal.”
That’s three settings. I guess the fourth setting is “OFF”? That’s disingenuous.
These lights are nice. I have them, or something just like them. As kidsandliz mentioned, these are marketed under different brands.
I wish these 40 watt lights came with rechargeable batteries., Yes we can buy rechargeable batteries to put in them but they’d be nicer with them already having them. At least they are brighter than many lights meh sells. That’s a plus.
@Kidsandliz It would have been even better if the rechargeable batteries were built-in and charged via a USB-C port. I would have bought them immediately!

@blaineg@Bszamd Yeah, I particularly liked the women with cat heads! Also laughed at the first generated picture where there are men in women’s leotards with skirt bottoms. AI is inclusive!
Another caution about rechargeables: first ones I bought used a non-usb charging connector. They long ago became useless after misplacing the charger. But burning through more AA batteries is not something I need.
@walarney- One way i charge my AAA btrs, i saved my landline phones which used AAA batteries, so i charge’em that way + i have an AA/AAA plug-in charger! Nonetheless, i prefer the built in batteries with a USB port.
@blaineg Yep, that’s a better option if available. They’re USB rechargeable and work as a power bank in addition to lighting. Unfortunately, they’re now OOS for delivery.

“AI” users are about as bright as Vantablack.
@DrunkCat That’s not necessarily a bad thing…
Irk’s losing his trollishness and turning into just another dull cartoon character.
@Kyeh I kind of like the new Irk.
@yakkoTDI Really?! He looks like he came out of a kid’s coloring book.
@Kyeh @yakkoTDI He doesn’t look like his stuffed self, his stickers… the new look is not an upgrade.
@Kyeh Well, I never said I was perfect.
@Kidsandliz @Kyeh @yakkoTDI I prefer the OG dude myself–the 2.0 version looks mean, like a little ruffian punk. Get off my lawn, new Irk!
@Kidsandliz @Kyeh @yakkoTDI Meanwhile, the Glen in this drawing looks innocent & cute.
Go figure.
How many hours (minutes?) will these run on 4 AA?
@2many2no We don’t have that spec unfortunately. Google says anywhere from 3-20 hours for a 500-lumen LED powered by 4 AA’s. I’d expect 3 hours on highest brightness
OH MY GOD THEY REASSEMBLED GLEN!!!
That was confusing, dark reader turns today’s deal page into nothing but all black on black. Ironic that it’s selling lights.
Found a couple of reviews on QVC

These lights are out there under several brands.

Guess THAT’S the Half million dollar question
@dahobbs9 Well at least VMP’s can then pay less buying them though sidedeal…

Oh noes, no “SOS” function to induce seizures in order to turn these off? That alone makes these a “must buy”!

Don’t need have things like this already but just wanted to say a massive thank you for listening and listing the lumens this time.

@mediocrebot poops that’s right. Forgot I just did a temporary pause. Oh well… The thought was there

@mediocrebot The three-legged dancers are kinda strange.
@Bszamd @mediocrebot At least the hands are getting better.
@Bszamd @mediocrebot So are the disembodied cat heads.
@blaineg Then I guess you would not like my home decor.
@blaineg @Bszamd Yeah, I particularly liked the women with cat heads! Also laughed at the first generated picture where there are men in women’s leotards with skirt bottoms. AI is inclusive!
I got some of these (or shockingly similar) last year and they do what’s expected. But the real question is:
Why does Irk look like a character from the movie Onward?
@ArmchairGamer
That’s supposed to be IRK??
I have a very similar set like these, but the ones I have are rechargeable. Pros and cons for rechargeable LED lights.
First, when onboard battery is dead, can’t use it until recharged. Also, over time, onboard lithium batteries no longer hold a charge, then worthless.
With replaceable batteries, as long as you have batteries, you have light. And there are so many deals from time to time on alkaline batteries.
That said, I think I still prefer the rechargeable version.
Another caution about rechargeables: first ones I bought used a non-usb charging connector. They long ago became useless after misplacing the charger. But burning through more AA batteries is not something I need.

OMG - it’s the solution I’ve been looking for!!!
FINALLY a hands-free way to put a blinding light directly in my face as I change a flat tire.

@Pufferfishy Perfect for movies & TV where everyone shines their lights directly into people’s faces.
@Pufferfishy- OR, charge 1, or 2 work lights while using one, or two of the other!
One can never have too many lights shinning in one’s face!!

FYI, Duracell 1500 lumen are 3 for $20 at Costco. They are very bright, and have 5 brightness settings.

@blaineg @mwarren You need to add $65 for memebership for some of us.
EDIT - Oh wait. I know what to do. Drop VMP and buy a Costco membership.
Finally a way to use up all those alkaline batteries you bought last month from Meh.
Nice blue; it will match my Kobalt tools from Lowe’s.
