@zachdecker Yeah, the ones I got a couple of years ago were ok and weren’t all that chocolaty. I like the recent peanut butter ones with chocolate smears more.
My family has almost finished the box of the peanut butter version I got earlier this month, so I’m gonna take a chance and get the cheaper ones with the earlier expiration date
@lonocat@Lynnerizer@yakkoTDI lol. Wut? Tracking your ghoul & goblin visitors? (J/k, I know you’re not.) That’s probably not legal, but hey… only the king decides what’s legal these days.
/8ball Should I pay the extra 5 bucks to ensure fresher candy for those indolent no-account beggars trick-or-treaters (AKA neighbors’ kids)? Without a doubt
@robson Yeah, usually the exact same dated offering is cheaper a month later, so either a) there was something funny and undisclosed with that 9/2 offering (semi-trailer that sat out in Texas heat too long?); b) Us 9/2 buyers were the guinea pigs and meh is just greedy ; c) meh realized they haven’t offered us any decent halloween offering yet so marked up the price for pumpkin-spice season (even though there’s no pumpkin spice kind bar, a real disappointment)
@mediocrebot@robson@troy The most hilarious part about this photo is the chocolate chips leaking out of the package, its as if they just know the meh standard of quality.
@caffeineguy@mediocrebot@robson the chocolate chips melted during transit to the customer – its still pretty hot out there. Our photos were taken from our stock and I am not seeing any meltage.
I bought these the first time. They were quite good, so I bought them again the last time. I found the expiration date didn’t mean much. I may buy them again now even though I have plenty remaining still.
@tommytoad0 they definitely change a bit closer to their best-by date, with the chocolate turning slightly rancid. Cant imagine the peanut butter ones ‘age’ that well.
I bought these last time for $20. Even though all the chocolate chips have melted in them I guess during shipping, (they arrived on a hot day but shipped locally idk) I like them a lot. I believe it’s only 5 g of sugar per bar so no guilt in eating one or two at a time. They are small bars but when I tell you they are tasty and fresh believe me. I have quite a few left but even at $5 more this time they are worth it. You will love the chewy chocolate granola taste! (Review left not part of paid partnership or reimbursement but will be open to a free box ).
Bought both versions of these when they were sold earlier this month. The peanut butter ones are basically just the chocolate chip ones with added PB, (although admittedly the ingredients are more substantially different.)
Anyways, I’d never had these before, and they’re quite good; I will be buying more. I’d describe them as a cross between Quaker Chewy and Nature Valley Crunchy granola bars; they’re firmer than the former, but are nowhere near as hard as the latter (which are very good, by the way, crushed up and sprinkled on yogurt.)
What?? The Jan2026 ones were only $19.99 with free VMP shipping on 9/2. These are 25% more expensive with the same expiration, a month closer to their best by date. Not only that, the ones that are barely 2 months ‘newer’ are 50% more expensive than the last offering. Was there something wrong with the last batch? Does this batch have the proper ratio of chocolate chips? Were these not subject to a storage mishap like the last ones? Undeclared allergen?
"Will you bow down at the altar of capitalism? Or will you punish us for this blatant act of price-gouging?
Tell us with your dollars."
They seem to ‘value’ the 2 months of extra best-by time (the March ones) by about $5, so honestly the January ones should have been even cheaper than previously offered.
If everyone that ordered cancels their order on account of a 25% price increase with an accompanying 25% drop in time-to-eat-by-best-by, maybe they’ll drop the price back back down to $20. “Don’t hate the player, hate the game?” Really? If a few folks sent emails about the price hike and insulting context, y’all could ‘cost’ the company a few hundred dollars of their time. That’ll show them with their dollars, instead of ours.
I like these, have bought them at the store (like when the Quaker brand ones were on hiatus and I was desperate for a substitute for my kids). I almost bought them the last time they were on meh, but passed. I’ve actually regretted NOT buying them, so of course I bit on this offering (good pun, not intended). Wish I hadn’t missed the Peanut Butter version, though.
Expiration dates are bs. I’m not paying extra for the illusion of a few more months of “best by.”
@Wireball_ "No, our reason for cranking up the price: we sold a fuck ton of these things last time. Like 3,148 units. " yeah, because they were actually a good deal last time at [just over] $0.20/ea But 25% more a month later… nahhh… I’ll buy them in November for $14.99
@Wireball_ My wife added an 80pk to her Subscribe and Save, First $24 order had a 30% off coupon, bringing the price down to $16.80 for 80, for a nice $0.21/bar and the best-by will probably be a bit past January. (Plus that was Peanut butter AND Chocolate chip)
@PhysAssist same here, they kind of disintegrated, when you tear the wrapper open pieces fall out, so it’s not a bar but a bunch of small pieces. Couldn’t give them away, so no thanks for more.
Meh, I would have bought these at the same or lower price, but must “punish” this price gouging. Hoping even with not many left that they don’t sell out and actually do learn a lesson.
@DayBlur nahh, we are selling out. ~40 left at this point. When it gets this low on inventory, we can’t afford to devote a day on the site with the previous margins where we had 3000+ available.
@troy well, for your price gouging exercise, I wish you 25% in losses and claims for extra melted bars, lost shipments, and the 25 cases that you accidentally ship with a third, shorter, best-by date
@DayBlur You can subscribe and save on an 80ct variety pack from Uncle Bezos for $27.38, but there’s a 30% off coupon on first order, so you can get 80 for only $19.17
Oof. I only got half a box (it was an obvious return on dented packaging, but no one looked inside to make sure it was still filled). Sending in a support ticket.

These are good, but only if you’re OK with approximately 4 chocolate chips per bar.
@zachdecker Yeah, the ones I got a couple of years ago were ok and weren’t all that chocolaty. I like the recent peanut butter ones with chocolate smears more.
KuoH
@zachdecker Somehow I am.
@zachdecker
I got my order today. Somebody really messed up!!! I counted up to 5 chocolate chips in one of my bars!
Anyway, they’re still soft and scrumptious. I’ll probably have enough for Halloween…no more hiding behind the couch with the lights off for this guy!
What Kind of deal is this?
It’s a great size for long distance running to keep your energy up but tiny if you want a true snack.
My family has almost finished the box of the peanut butter version I got earlier this month, so I’m gonna take a chance and get the cheaper ones with the earlier expiration date
@dpease oh almost forgot they had it… For $20? (Which was cheaper than the $25 in 2023, though that was for a different design of bar.)
Hmm. I’ll pay the extra to get more Halloween candy
for myselfjust in case the earlier onesget eaten by me nowrun out.I can see now the 65 or so I’d be reluctantly digging out of my pantry to throw away in 2027.
@compline Sell them here
not for me because i still have a lot of the last box. but zero buyers remorse, these are tasty
@spacemart Mine are gone – gave to the fam. Yeah they were too good.
Should I get these, to give out for Halloween, or just give out TrackR pixels, like I did last year?
@lonocat I hope you at least replaced the battery last year.
@lonocat

IDK, do you think you’ll even be getting many kids back this year after giving out the TrackRs last year?
Lol
@Lynnerizer If not @lonocat knows how to find them.
@lonocat @Lynnerizer @yakkoTDI lol. Wut? Tracking your ghoul & goblin visitors? (J/k, I know you’re not.) That’s probably not legal, but hey… only the king decides what’s legal these days.
I would have bought this if it were a 100 pack… but 99 pack just doesn’t seem enough.
/8ball Should I pay the extra 5 bucks to ensure fresher candy for those
Without a doubt
indolent no-account beggarstrick-or-treaters (AKA neighbors’ kids)?@phendrick Nah, they’ll be so high on sugar they won’t know the diffrence…

These are really good, got 1 box of each last time.
I get the “supply & demand” concept, but still boo on you for the price increase! You already paid whatever you paid for the whole lot.
@caffeineguy @robson sounds revolting
/showme a pumpkin spice flavored KIND bar
@mediocrebot I think I’d pay $5 extra for a special edition meh Pumpkin spice version…
/showme pumpkin spice KIND bar, slightly melted with 4 chocolate chips and “meh.com exclusive” branding
@mediocrebot @troy Imagine how many of these you could sell…
@mediocrebot @robson @troy The most hilarious part about this photo is the chocolate chips leaking out of the package, its as if they just know the meh standard of quality.
@caffeineguy @mediocrebot @robson the chocolate chips melted during transit to the customer – its still pretty hot out there. Our photos were taken from our stock and I am not seeing any meltage.
@caffeineguy @mediocrebot @robson @troy He’s talking about the bot-created image above.
@Kyeh but also referencing our “standard of quality” – my sample also arrived with melted chocolate chips, but I expected that given the heat.
I bought these the first time. They were quite good, so I bought them again the last time. I found the expiration date didn’t mean much. I may buy them again now even though I have plenty remaining still.

So how small are they? Yea I read the specs but are they tiny?
@catthegreat They are a little smaller than a slightly bigger sized item.
@catthegreat
@catthegreat @yakkoTDI Smaller than a banana
(a bit bigger than a 2-piece KitKat)
I still have 95 of mine left. I’ll let them go for fifteen bucks.
@rogrtheshrubber That’s a steal!
I bought these last time, they were delivered to someone’s door, never saw them…I hope that random person is still enjoying the gift.
@ecogrrl I hope you get a coupon code for $5 off these ones so you can get the 99 you were entitled to for $20.
@caffeineguy nope…but meh did refund my purchase, so I have that to cling onto

They’re decently tasty, but they’re not $0.31/oz tasty ($25 for 99). I’ll pass; $0.25/oz ($20 for 99) is my threshold.

The last ones we bought were all melted and are gross- despite whatever else was said about them.
I bought them for SWMBO because she liked the “This Bar Saves Lives” peanut butter flavored bars, and she hated these ones.
@PhysAssist same here, they kind of disintegrated, when you tear the wrapper open pieces fall out, so it’s not a bar but a bunch of small pieces. Couldn’t give them away, so no thanks for more.

@pakopako These things don’t come completely full – there’s a fair amount of space. Did you count the bars?
@troy yup. 75 unopened, 2 broken (77 total). Made a note of that in the ticket.
(The one I ordered the previous week was nearly full; that had 99.)
My order just came got canceled.
